Summit Oriental Boutique Hotel

Horrible food. Pathetic service. Was served raw chicken curry and informed my server immediately. These people were only concerned that the customer pays and leaves. Three waiters and one manager. Grossly disappointed. Customer returns for food and service not for cute interiors.

I didn't stayed in this hotel but went for food in the late evening around had chicken, prawn, roti and rice with beer.
No munching like popcorn or salad or kimchi was provided with the beer, when asked about that, the person I believe manager said "koi nahi deta hai" I said I have been in Gangtok for 4 years and almost all give at least something bare minimum like popcorn.
Well that was not a deal breaker to me, chicken was under cooked and when I showed that to them they took it back and provided a new one.
Not recommended.

We stayed at Hotel The Oriental International (Room No. 21) from 22nd to 25th February 2026. The hotel was clean and spacious, making it one of the best mid-budget options on MG Marg Road. The in-house restaurant was convenient, and the staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Overall, we had a very good experience.

Location is top notch. Just at the MG Marg. Food quality is very bad at this hotel. The breakfast is also very bad. They just have 4 items in breakfast: Bread, sausage, poori, sabji… That’s it… some day they replace poori sabji with Poha…
Apart from Food quality hotel is commendable.
They don’t have elevator so higher floors are tough to access.

I stayed in this hotel from 6 th — 10 th Nov, 2025.
There is no lift accommodation in this hotel.
So I suggest to senior citizens please arrange for your rooms within 2 nd floor.
The bathroom size is very small.
In my view, except the above disadvantages every thing of this hotel is fantastic.
The rates are including breakfast.
The rooms & bathrooms are very much clean and hygienic.
There is many modern comodities and advantage of this hotel mention below :
1. Bathroom kits.
2.24 hours hot water facility.
3. Hair dryer.
4. Electric saving point.
5. Safety locker.
6. Electric kettle.
7. Shoe polish machine.
The manager and staffs of this hotel is very much helpful.
Today, at the time of checkout they pack our breakfast very sincerely.
And the main thing of this hotel is just on the M G Marg.
I will must come here again.

One of the best experience of hotel is the Oriental mg Marg lovely hospitality hotel is located in the hart of the city food is north Indian and chiness food awsom, room is fully equipped with aminity mostly and great thing is the hospitality of the staff.

Excellent location in the MG Marg, Gangtok. The rooms are very clean, comfortable and hygienic. Specially 2nd and 3rd floors give us the perfect sighting of the whole beautiful MG Marg’s location. The Front-Desk manager is very co-operative & helpful. Also, they provide good services. The restaurant is very cleanly maintained & provides quality food, such as North-Indian delights and Chinese cuisines.

Excellent experience… staffs are very much supportive… the food is also good… Most. Imp thing is thak hotel situated in the heart of MG market… thank u.

Cleanest room. Located on the MG Marg that is one of the prime locations. Humble staff. Enjoyed my stay here without any hassle.

Hotel is fully packed with aminity, cleaness in on point they do it on daily basic, food quality is also very good now they have started room service also previous years no room service is available and also now no brand is using they are owner himself is running the show with great staff and better than before great hospitality, hotel is located in mg marg with city great view with cosy room only the disadvantaged is no elevator rest ever this on point will definitely visit again.

On day 1 he denied for coffee because they didn't have milk and on day 3 they said they don't have fruits today.

For the price I paid, this hotel was excellent. Provided everything we needed and the views were great. The bathrooms were kinda small but it’s not like I’m filming a video in there so no need for anything bigger. Only downside was the breakfast. I’ll never say no to free breakfast, but it felt a bit…improvised. The menu was a sheet of printed paper and they forgot my scrambled eggs order. Other than that, pretty good.

The Oriental is full pack of all amenities. Very near to all need and all site seeing places. Management is very humble and friendly. Manager NAVEEN is very nice person. Wooden interiors makes the property more elegant. Every one can enjoy location and property very well. Finally they are very honest.

I recently stayed at Hotel Sumitel Oriental Gangtok for three nights, and while the location is excellent, the overall experience left much to be desired.
The rooms are small, and the bathrooms are even smaller, making the stay uncomfortable. The lighting inside the room is poor, creating a dull atmosphere. Worse, bright stairwell lights seep into the room, disturbing sleep. The hotel must install dark curtains to fix this issue.
Basic amenities are lacking. The hotel does not provide packed drinking water; instead, it offers self-filled bottles that are repeatedly used by different guests, raising concerns about hygiene and purity. We chose not to use them. Additionally, if you order food from Zomato or Swiggy, the hotel refuses to provide plates, which is highly inconvenient, especially since they do not have an Indian restaurant.
Hot water for bathing is not available 24/7. It is supplied only at fixed hours which can be inconvenient for guests who need it at other times.
One thing that surprised me was that the entire front desk staff leaves after 10 PM, leaving the hotel under the care of a single security guard. This feels like a major lapse in guest service and security. A hotel should always have a responsible staff member available to assist guests, especially at night. There is no full time housekeeping services, I sense this hotel management trying cost cutting in various services.

The walls and floor of the rooms are not same glossy as the pictures are shown. Rooms are clean but not well maintained. Rooms are spacious. Though it was two bedded room, but easily 3 persons accomodate there.
Room service is satisfactory. They provide Tea, coffees, bathing kit and dental kit.
No Lift facility is there. Not recommended for Old agaed person.

Good Hotel with excellent Hospitality. Just on Mall Road, MG Marg. Windows facing MG Marg. Staffs are good, professional & problem solver. We enjoyed our stay at S. Oriental Gangtok. The only drawback is all the rooms are on 2nd floor and above, No lift, and very much difficult for old aged persons and / or have any knee problems.
I have faced the same problem my room was on 3rd floor but on request, next day they provide me room on 2nd floor.
