Kingston by Yagi, 600 meters from M G Marg Gangtok

The place, the vibe, the experience, the people. I loved every bit of it. People were very helpful. Sushmita, Supriya, Rohan and Samjana thank you so much for your hospitality. Will surely recommend people to stay here if they are willing to enjoy their trip ❤️❤️

The rooms are spacious, specially it is very relaxing to stay with the mountain view rooms. The housekeeping and the restaurant services are good. The rooms are clean and well maintained. The staffs are very polite. Overall a very nice experience in Kingston. Would like to visit again.

It was a first visit to sikkim and we had booked this hotel, the service was top notch and very kind and humble, these guys co-operated us very well. Food was delicious, hotel was comfortable. Room was amazing, staff was very polite and positive and hospitality, thank you yagi.

This feedback and 4star Rating is only For receptionist Sushmita who is doing a fabulous job in performing her duties. She is very friendly, active and always greets tourist with a smile and she is a problem solver. Except her I didnt have that good experience with other staff members. Few were rude also and didnt accomodate a smallest request like providing a normal sized room (we were given a shapeless corner room). Other things to highlight no AC in one room even if it was part of my amenities, no welcome drink, after 10pm service boy wont receive the call at the reception. Toiletries refill was done only when we asked. Deluxe room has no view. Hot water and breakfast only from 6:30 am to 9:30 am in the morning. In amenities blower, iron board was missing.

Whoever calls this a 4-star hotel must be delusional. The hotel is located on a narrow by-lane and 1.3km away from MG Marg.
Wifi does not work. TV does not work. Electric kettle had cockroaches. The lift is a nightmare and takes ages.
The rooms are not clean, the carpet looks atleast a century old and is full of dust. The mattresses are old and springs are broken.
The double bed is made up of two single mattresses which is very uncomfortable for sleeping. In our 3-night stay, room/bathroom cleaning was not done even on a single day.
The food served is good in taste but it is always cold. The reception or room service never bother to pick up the call.
I'm never going to stay here again or recommend this hotel to anyone.

I had a truly wonderful stay at Kingston By Yagi! The food at the hotel restaurant was absolutely delicious, with a great variety of Indian and international dishes — everything felt hygienic, flavorful, and satisfying. Many guests, like me, found the meals consistently tasty and enjoyable throughout the stay. 
The location is excellent — just a short walk from MG Marg and close to major sightseeing spots in Gangtok. It’s easy to explore the city, local markets, and attractions directly from the hotel. 
The facilities are top-notch, with clean and comfortable rooms, helpful services like restaurant, room service, Wi-Fi, 24-hour front desk, and even shuttle options. The ambiance is pleasant and well-maintained, making each day’s stay relaxing. 
Safety and cleanliness are clearly priorities here. The hotel has proper hygiene protocols, friendly and attentive staff, and helpful team members who made my stay feel secure and welcoming. 
Overall, I’d highly recommend Kingston By Yagi to anyone looking for an excellent stay in Gangtok — wonderful food, a great location, great facilities, and a very safe environment! ❤️

I wouldn't recommend this hotel based on my stay. The biggest issue for me was the hot water situation. The temperature outside drops to around — 1°C, so you'd expect hot water to be available all the time. Instead, it's only available from 6:30-9:00 AM and 6:30-9:00 PM, which is really inconvenient.
The restaurant was another disappointment. Most of the items on the menu weren't actually available, and although a couple of dishes were okay, they weren't anything special. Also, do yourself a favor and skip the tea — it was honestly terrible.

Awesome stay and view. Rooms were small but cozy. Had a great view (photos attached). I just had one complain that the hot water was not available even during their own timing for Hot water. Also No welcome drinks were provided. Apart from that, The Hotel staff were too good. The Hotel Manager was very good, he helped us book local sightseeing and Nathula Pass trip at cheaper prices than the market. The Restaurant manager was very sweet and kind. She offered us free sandwiches too. The cleaning staff were too very good. Overall great hotel and great staff.

The room was spacious, with all necessary amenities, hot water and food from the kitchen has limited timings, menu is limited, complimentary breakfast is served the room, food is ok, we got a room with Kanchenjonga view, room comes with temperature control AC, the location is in Development Area and you get taxi easily, fare to MG road and West Point mall in taxi would be Rs 100-150 — so these places are not too far. Overall the experience was good.

Despite booking via MakeMyTrip with guaranteed early check-in, we reached exactly at 2 PM and still waited 30 minutes for the room. No welcome drink (as promised), not even a glass of water. After that they gave both the rooms in the opposite direction and I had to come down to get it changed. When I asked to speak to the manager, I was told the manager was on vacation—during Christmas–New Year peak season in a tourist town. Apparently, one supervisor was expected to run the entire hotel.
The corridor on the third floor was littered with garbage (photos will be uploaded). The room itself looked nothing like the glossy pictures online—broken walls, horrible view, and zero upkeep.
The electronic locker made nonstop noise. Maintenance was promised “within an hour. ”
Three nights later—still broken. No visit. No follow-up.
Free Wi-Fi? Didn’t work at all. I had official work pending and had to constantly chase staff because mobile networks barely work in Gangtok. No solution provided.
TV was useless because the set-top box wasn’t recharged. Informed staff on Day 1. Nothing was done throughout the stay.
At most time no one is available at the reception/housekeeping phones were conveniently unanswered—forcing us to run three floors repeatedly for basic needs.
The only proactive service? Repeated calls asking if we’d like to have dinner at the hotel—clearly, upselling works better than actual hospitality.

I stayed at Kinston by Yagi in Gangtok and had a pleasant experience overall.
The rooms are decently sized, clean, and comfortable. Room service was good and responsive, which made the stay hassle-free. The hotel is located about 700–800 meters from MG Road, and the walk is easy and manageable. Taxis are readily available from the hotel, making it convenient to travel to all parts of Gangtok.
The food is okay—nothing exceptional, but decent enough for regular meals.
Overall, this is a good, comfortable option if you want a well-located hotel close to MG Road without paying premium prices. Suitable for families and couples looking for a calm and convenient stay in Gangtok.
Note: Check for availability of parking in advance if you need one. They have limited space.

Had a very memorable stay here. We spend 4 nights and the stay was very comfortable. They have an in-house restaurant which is very convenient. The food is good. The property is clean and well maintained. The view from the room was the plus point for the stay, it was absolutely phenomenal. Would recommend this place for anyone looking for a good stay in Gangtok.

Had a great stay at Kingston by Tyagi. The hotel feels welcoming, the rooms are neat, and the food is really good. The restaurant team — Dipesh, Aphika Arsh, Arpan, Rohini and Rohan — were super friendly and made sure everything was perfect. Really happy with the service. Definitely a place worth staying.

Ambiance was good. Food quality could have been improved. View of Kanchanjunga from our Gallery was senic and a view to die for. Visited the place during Diwali and the local girls came their sing regional songs in traditional attire. We will never forget the experience.

Had a wonderful, pleasant stay at this hotel. Great hospitality provided by the staffs. Rooms were clean with all room amenities provided. I would like to mention Ms. Manisha for her professional guidance and make us feel like home.

Location is amazing, good rooms but very ill maintenance. The manager is rude and was charging extra for an extra bed even though it was pre-booked. Restaurant staff was nice but the food didn’t taste nice and I found a hair in one dish. The terrace views were mesmerising but at the same time you need to beg for room service fixing intercom TV box and extra towels. A lot of scope to do better.
