HOTEL EXCELLENCY

Today, our business meeting was held at Hotel Excellency. The hotel, food, and parking facilities were good. At the end of the meeting, I was given a certificate. Later, I went to the reception and asked for a carry bag, but I did not get one. For such a big hotel with a hotel, bar, and restaurant facilities, not providing a simple carry bag did not feel like good service. I hope this will be taken care of in the future.

Stayed on 25th Mar 2026 for one night with family. I checked out on 26th by 9.30 AM and kept luggage in cloak room. One shocking experience to share is that I talked to Mr. Ashish Mishra of the hotel around 7.30 PM to arrange room for 10-15 minutes to change the dress for family as we checked out around 9.30 AM. However, I was kept on waiting for long time, but no intimation received in this regard from him. Such act is not expected from such a reputed hotel.
Hope management will look into the issues in future.

Hotel excellency is 100 m from bhubaneswar railway station, convenient location near to major landmark area and a very nicely maintained hotel. We stayed for two nights with family and had a wonderful experience. Specially breakfast spread is very wide n diverse. Food quality n taste, overall staff behaviour, room cleanliness, service very nice. Rooftop swimming pool, small but decent. Rooms were spacious with all basic necessary facilities available… Keep up the same standard :)

We chose Hotel Excellency to do the thread ceremony of our boys this Jan and I will forever be thankful to the dedicated staff who made sure there wasn't a single area which was mis-managed. It was a huge function that continued over 3 days with multiple food items and cuisine served to us. And I would like to quote the feedback by one of our (very critical) guests: "All the curries had their own different flavours always; God know what the secret recipe is. Thanks to the supremely talented chef for this. "
Beginning from Ganesh Sir and his team who looked after the entire event to Soumya Sir and his team who took care of the rooms. I would certainly like to appreciate Sameer, Nalini, Shankar, Nawaz and Prabhakara Babu; everyone was amazing and extremely hospitable. Apologies if I have missed out on any names.
The team honestly went above and beyond the way our guests were looked after to the amazing food and accommodating numerous requests by all of us. Hotel Excellency certainly have an excellent and exceptional team.

Food service very bad. Staff at epitome are rude. Live counter service is pretty bad. You ask for something and it comes when you are finished. Food items choice is not good. Things like ketchups etc missing. Attitude of staff was also not good. If they improve food service the hotel will become good.

Hotel ambience very good. But epitome food service is very bad. Less chefs in live counter. The food choice is also very bad. Serving staff attitude very bad. Essentials like ketchups are missing. Must improve a lot.

I came to Bhubaneswar for the first time and I found this hotel to be excellent. When you enter the hotel, you get proper service near the reception. The staff also cooperates with you in a very good manner. The hotel is also very clean and has a beautiful design. The name is excellent and the hotel is excellent.

Hotel is located in the right area and closer to many of the business centers. It's bang next to the Railway station. The hotel is old and likewise the rooms. Though the rooms are equipped the niggling issues like the AC not working are heard less. Even after complaining the only thing they say is it's rectified… With no use though. Other than this bad experience, all went smooth, their hospitality, food is very good.

Old hotel for staying in Bhubaneswar. Good staff. Reasonable good. Ok taste. Can be better.
Rooms need to be upkeeped in a better way. Bath rooms need to be upgraded.

Rooms are not at all clean, spider web in a hotel room claiming to be a 3 star property. No body wash in washrooms and lighting in rooms are like you are like late 90s, Complaint made at the front desk they clearly denied we dont have any room as property is fully sold out, since nothing left for me since already paid and made booking for 2 days so instructed the hotel staff not to enter the room without my permission, still while having have dinner at the restaurant, staff entered the room without permission and tried to cover up all the mistakes.
When made argument about privacy all of the sudden 2 3 rooms were made available for choice to shift.
Ultimately have to shift to different room, would not suggest anyone for the property no amenities, specially no privacy in hotel.

Hotel Excellency is a good, 14 yearold hotel situated in a convenient location. It is next to platform 1, Bhubaneswar railway station and all the sightseeing places are within reach, say less than 15 kilometres!
Our rooms were spacious enough and extra bed was also provided. The washroom was neat with good hot water facility. Room service staff cleaned the room everyday and refilled water bottles/coffee/sugar sachets.
Basic toiletries were provided. There was no ironbox or hairdryer. I think they might be provided upon request.
Autos and Uber cabs are.
Plentiful… you can avail them round the clock.
Choose rooms with free breakfast… all the items are cooked deliciously. Only thing is one needs to come early to see all the platters filled with food otherwise you will have to wait for the refills to arrive.
There is a mini gym on the second floor, a bar and a decent sized pool on the fourth floor.
There is sufficient parking space.
The hotel staff is friendly, courteous and work actively.
Lobby is big and welcoming.
Wifi comes with a code… it is pretty strong. The guys in the reception patiently give you the code over phone and the code seems to work continuosly for two days.
There are a lot of mosquitoes in the restaurant in the lobby and a few in the room. You can ask for an All — out mosquito repellent.
My room had a musty, stale, cigarette odour. I used my perfume to diffuse the unpleasant smell…!
We stayed in this hotel for five nights.

The staff were exceptionally courteous and helpful, especially at reception.

Service is okayish. Not good or exceptional, and there is definitely a big room for improvement.

Pool is small but over 4ft deep — too deep for kids. Room cleaning is up to the mark. Food is extremely overpriced and not up to the mark.
