Review of Hotel Taj Resorts 4*

We booked this hotel, because according to the reviews and pictures on the website, it seemed like a relatively cheap and nice hotel. We arrived at night and we had several issues right in the first 10 minutes: -the check-in went fine mainly because it was almost midnight and we were the only guests at the reception; -a luggage boy escorted us to our room and basically he didn't leave until we didn't give him some money; -the room smelled of mould and it looked like as if it was not cleaned for weeks. Because of the late hour and we travelled 8 hours we didn't have energy to complain that night to change the room. After the boy left, we noticed that the sheets and duvet had huge stains along with the towels in the bathroom. The window frame was also mouldy and we noticed water stains all around the room on the wall as well. At this point we already considered changing hotels, but as mentioned it was already passed midnight, so we had to wait till morning. In the early morning hours we noticed that the room was directly below the water circulation system of the pool, so it turned on with a huge noise every few hours. While my fiancee was looking for a new hotel — at this point we didn't even want to change rooms — I made a coffee and sat down beside the window when I noticed that someone was doing number 2 (yes! ) in the bushes in the "garden" (see picture attached). So once he found the new hotel, we went down to the reception to settle the room costs and leave. At the reception they still wanted to charge us some additional fees but after checking the invoice ourselves we noticed that it was already added so we could remind them and avoid the double charges. Even the manager tried to convince us to stay but at this point we did not want to spend one more minute there. If they let one room to be in that condition and still occupied by guests, we didn't want to know how the others looked like. Overall we were very disappointed with the fake advertisement, but we have to admit, that the location is practical if you want to visit the Taj Mahal.
