We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Mewar Haveli! The owner Harish Jain was extremely accommodating and helped to arrange number of services to enhance our stay in Jaipur. He recommended Lord & Tailor which made a number of clothes for my husband in just 24 hours at a reasonable price. Harish also organized a driver for a day named Om Sonie. He took us to a great market district for local produce and sweets, a boat ride, and still got us to Monsoon Palace for one of the most striking sunsets I’ve ever been able to enjoy.
Back at the haveli we enjoyed the all day rooftop restaurant views of Lake Pichola. The convenient location within the city makes Mewar Haveli fell like returning home at the end of a day spent exploring. We took a private cooking lesson with the owner of his favorite recipes where we learned about local flavors peppered with stories of Harish’s life. While Udaipur has endless options, we were content watching reflection of the city float past us from our room or either of their two floors of open-air dining.

The Mewar Haveli was everything I wanted it to be and more. My wife and I stayed for four nights at this establishment, and we enjoyed every moment of it. Although we arrived before check-in, Mr. Hemant (aka Bunty, aka #9) ensured that it was a stress-free experience. We enjoyed a simple, relaxing breakfast (and later a delicious dinner) in their lovely rooftop restaurant, complete with a breathtaking view of Lake Pichola. Our room was simple and comfortable, with another …beautiful view of the lake. A comfortable bed, ice-cold AC, and a ceiling fan capable of propelling an ocean liner combined to give us some much-needed sleep after our arrival. The owner, Mr. Harish, went above and beyond to answer questions, provide advice, and arrange activities for us. We took his cooking class and it blew us away. My wife and I, fans of Indian cuisine long before this trip, were amazed at how simple it is to create these wonderful dishes, and were introduced to some new ones (PARATHA! ) that we have since been going out of our way to find at restaurants in different cities. Based on Harish's recommendations, I also visited the neighboring clothing shop, Lord and Tailor. The owner, CP, provided me with custom-made shirts, trousers, and a suit, hassle-free and at a reasonable price. Harish arranged a driver for us for some sightseeing, including a local spice market and the Monsoon Palace for a spectacular sunset. Our driver, Mr.

The roof top restaurent at mewar haveli has dbl floor to choose from both have views of the lake and surronding hills. I liked sitting on the lower level in the morning for breakfast in jarokha and the and the upper level in the evening for dinner and drinks. The food is delicious and fresh and the staff is polite and attentive. I recommend to every one to eat there and enjoy the view of the lake and mountains.

Food and location is very nice, staff is very friendy. We order couple of dishes taste is good and I recommend to every faimly and friends to eat thare.

Awesome view from terrace but restaurant service was slow.

Just had a fabulous cooking lesson with Harish who enthusiastically taught us how to make the most delicious of North Indian curries! Pakoras, daal, biryani, kadhi paneer, naan, chapati, and parathas and halwa! If you’re keen to learn cooking in a kitchen with a beautiful view over Lake Pichola and the surrounding mountains with a funny and lovely chef then you must contact Harish!

We had an incredible experience in a cooking class here. Harish showed us how to cook vegetable pakoras, tadka dal, kadhi paneer, naans, chipatis, paratas… and gave us the recipes to many, many more delicious dishes. The kitchen is in a beautiful place with a view of the lakes and city from the third floor. The food was absolutely delicious — very authentic! Harish and the other chefs were very friendly and made us feel right at home. Would recommend to everyone.

Very clean place. It's a small haveli converted to a hotel. Rooms are small but nice. We got a room with a very nice view of the lake. The location of the hotel is really good. It's just 1min away from the pichola lake. Hathi pole bazar is may be a kilometer away. The Lal ghat shopping is right there. Staff are friendly. Food is good. The restaurant staff are a little lazy but the restaurant has a great view. Mr Hemanth at the reception was super nice and very very helpful.

We stayed at the hotel for 3 days and it was excellent. The room was comfortable and clean and in a fantastic spot in Lal Ghat near the lake, the palace and the shopping. The staff are friendly and helpful and the restaurant is really good. We did a cooking class with Harish and Nivek which will be a highlight of our trip. They were so knowledgable on the food and spices but also gave us real insight into the Indian way of life. You get to eat all the beautiful food you cook as well. Highly recommend.

Stayed 2 night during my udaipur visit. Room is small considering the amount we paid but jus walkable distance to city palace and lake pichola boating jetty. They have room facing lake pichola. But their restaurant food dishes is costly and dont take day trip udaipur package. Its kind of rip off.

Very very poor hotel nothing great. Not a great service. Location disadvantage. Cabs are not allowed till hotel entrance. U need to walk half a km every time to get to your cab. We had a flight early morning and no one to pick up luggage. Food is ok. Avg hotel. Roof view is good. However most of the 'haveli' in that area have a roof top restaurant.

Excellent view from roof top n certain rooms, clean n cozy rooms, good service, located in the centre of the city, only concern is the food which is high priced.

Love this quaint little place with great location and friendly and knowledgeable owner. Rooftop vegetarian restaurant has one of the best view to watch the sunset.

Worst hotel in udaipur near lal ghat. Rooms very small torn bed sheets over priced menu rooms price are over priced too I had booked room for five days but I had to shift from the hotel widout even asking for refund for they had charged me 3200/ — per day due to bad ambiance cheap hospitality. Waste of my entire money There are other good option near sukhedia circle. Lots of Fake reviews on Mewar haweli. Simply not worth staying only and only good thing is it is close to the city palace and one can walk to city palace all rooms are same don't get into any false impression while booking between deluxe, premium, suite or such fancy exxaserated vocabulary. Go for Blu Raddision slightly costly but worth spending or else many options inside city.

Nice view of Pichhola Lake from roof top however the rooms are very small to accomodate extra bed, and also the beds are too high.

Lovely hotel with free Wi-Fi in a great location. Prices were reasonable. Not all rooms had a view of the lake, though we opted to stay in one of the better rooms that did (I think we had to pay more for one of the ’premium' rooms). Food was good but not great. Nice rooftop patio.

We stayed in mewar haveli for 3 days. We loved this hotel as much as we loved udaipur. The best parts of the hotel are :-
1. View from your room. Do book lake view rooms. One can sit idle and watch the lake for hours.
2. Location : — mewar haveli is at walking distance from city palace, temple and begore ki haveli and is in the old city of udaipur.
3. Food: — go to the roof top restaurant and enjoy the food with awesome view of lake, hills and summer palace.
Mewar haveli is our only destination whenever we will visit udaipur in future.

I am Ramchander Rao from Andhra Pradesh. In the third week of October 2013 I have been in Udaipur with my family and friends. We can enjoy the Udaipur City and the city is full of lakes. Mewar haveli hotel is very good and the hotel rooms and passages are covered with good paintings which we can admire and enjoy. From the roof garden we can see Pichola lake and the lake is very scenic beauty. The hotel is situated very nearer to the City palace and Jagdish temple. Hotel management is very cooperative and the food supplied by them is delicious.

A very nice roof top, lake view restaurant and hotel. Food is great and service is superb. If you are looking for candle light, roof top, lake view dinner then this place is perfect. The place is jam packed sometimes so you might need to wait for your turn.
