That place is Paradise on earth! Ayub and his family were wonderful hosts! Such a great time we had there and the accommodation was the best. Good beds, clean sheets and fluffy blankets, warm water for showering, ayub’s famous chai or caava and that balcony towards the water.

A gorgeous houseboat with the most amazing sunset views! Standing secluded from the other houseboat crowd, its a perfect place to instantly connect with the paradise Kashmir promises. Ayub is an amazing, hospitable host and is always happy to entertain you with beautiful stories of Kashmir. The food here is finger-licking yummy, even when we ate only vegetarian. The rooms are well maintained and very comfortable. The bathtub and the silence of the place was a perfect setting to soak in and catch-up with the book I had been trying to finish reading for months. Another super exciting experience was being able to do shopping while sitting comfortably in the balcony, drinking beer and waiting for the sunset! We bought a treasure trove of Naqashi work, Paper machete, Antique silver jewellery and gems! If and when you visit this houseboat, don't forget to spend half a day riding in a shikara around the canals and the dense water lily and lotus vegetation of the lake.
Kashmir is safe. At no point during my 8 days stay did I feel unsafe or threatened. Please don't get scared by the exaggerated media stories of Kashmir and miss out on visiting the real heaven on earth.

Located in a quite and calm but posh Hazratbal area, where you are well connected to the city yet the place is quite for a relaxing vacation. Parking is possible.
The houseboat is placed in the quiter side of the lake, away from hustle and bust…le of a busy touristic place. Hence it is ideally located for those who are looking for a very relaxing and laid back experience.
Food is homely and simply delicious.
We stayed with the family and the kids liked the place so much that we extended our stay!
