Just checked in today & so far the experience has been great. Prime location, scenic views, excellent room service, nice food. All in all, it’s turning out to be great choice.

I would highly recommend this place I do a lot of travelling and this is the best Hotel I’ve been to. The best service you can receive that makes you feel like you’re at home the best part is even if you are sick they take really good care of you. I’m thankful that I stayed here and again I would highly highly recommend this place. I even got the special gift just to make me feel better Thank you roveena from Sydney Australia.

The stay was amazing and comfortable , the staff was family friendly will definitely come again and visit.

A memorable experience indeed! My Granddaughters don’t want to leave tomorrow (we are checking out on 3july) A special mention for the house keeping staff esp Praveen, but the most outstanding was the food. Chef Raj does a perfect job with the food, taking orders and personal attention needs a special mention. Will visit again soon.

Visited Oberoi Cecil, Shimla in March with a couple of friends. Had a lovely experience there all the staff Vineet, Guneet, Kashish, Prateek, GM Amardeep were very friendly and helpful. Chef Rajkumar was at his hospitable best and made sure we had an incredible gastronomic experience through out the stay, he had planned a few cooking classses for us which were pretty fun and learned a lot about cooking. His keema dosa was a dish we will remember for a long long time. Oberoi hospitality is at is a benchmark but the staff here bettered the already exemplary. Overall the experience was wonderful.

This hotel is amazing not only because of the look and style but mainly due to the excellent service from the extremely hospitable and attentive staff. The food from top Indian chef Raj Kumar is first class. A fantastic experience and highly recommended indeed!

Located on the main Mall Road away from the Ridge, this hotel offers a drive-in with secured parking. The hotel is luxurious property, one of the first few acquired by Oberoi's after Independence. It was completely refurbished a couple of decades ago and is in a very good condition. Rooms are spacious and luxuriously done up. A spa and indoor swimming pool add to the luxury. The food is excellent and reasonably priced for a star hotel. The bar is very well stocked, except for beer which has a very limited selection. When we went, they had only 2 available of the 3 on the menu.

One of the best place to stay at Shimla. One can get quality food here. All rooms are best suited for money. Rooms are very luxrious. Cab facility is also available. One can give it a try at least once. Must book rooms before you actually reach at Shimla. During season chances of getting the rooms are very less.

One of the best properties to stay in Simla. Very very courteous staff. Well managed Indoor Pool. Lots of Games in the activity area to keep the kids busy & very sweet staff to manage the kids there. Food was good. Walking distance from the Mall Road. An absolute recommendation!

Well they are giving us no chance even to reduce a star by half so they get a 5. Hospitality at it's best, never seen such kind helping people throughout my life. Even the food is amazing variety of cusines and the chef servers us whatever dish we want to the perfection. The manager Mr. Prateek is the best person throughout Shimla. He is very impressive and never gives you a chance to complaint. If you ever want to visit an exotic hotel do visit this place once in your lifetime, they really do feel us like we are at home.

As I was visiting Cecil for the tenth time I would say they are improving themselves continuously. Their services were good in the past and now their services are better than that.

This is a heritage building built in British Era. A very beautiful architecture and interior is also very attractive. Staff of the hotel is well trained, polite and cooperative. Services and food is also excellent.

Highly impressive structure, and excellent food quality and service. I had the buffet breakfast, which cost ₹1350 with taxes. Egg Benedict was very good, and the Berliner was awesome.

You are paying for the hospitality which you actually do get. However My experience wasn't that good because the food they served was s… Like literally was does it take to make good/decent pasta, least you can do is boil it properly!

Beautiful hotel with amazing lobby/reception area. Well appointed rooms and high quality dining. Great location where you can walk into the centre in a short while in safety. Lovely basement pool if you fancy a swim!

I stayed for one night in May 2017 and I had a memorable stay. It's a marvelous property and it is difficult to imagine that such a fine place exists in a hilly terrain. The hospitality is great and the food is awesome! The staff ensures that your preferences are taken care of. There is a recreation zone for the kids. There is a swimming spool and a spa as well. Take care not to keep your windows open because of the monkey menace in the region. There are no open air restaurants because of the monkey problem. Parking space is a challenge but I didn't face any trouble.

Excellent service, staff are very attentive, this hotel does luxury well. Think the pool area was my favourite spot here. The hotel retains its colonial ambience whilst managing to offer all the modern amenities one would seek. Strange to have this gem in the Himalayas, was quite an unexpected surprise that it would be that good, as the photos I initially saw do not do this place justice. If your ever up this way this hotel is a must do. Watch out for the monkeys though… should you leave your windows open they will swing by and raid your mini bar and take anything you leave laying around! Not joking.

Great location, old world charm and amazing hospitality! The food they serve is simply the best in the region and wonderfully presented. Room price and Dish price are very good.

Location and Ambience is excellent. Service is exceptionally good. Rooms are luxurious and opulent. Breakfast buffet was fantastic. Cons: Pricing for in room dining is way too expensive and portions served are not proportionate to the price per dish.

Stayed here for 3 days during our tour of india… this is the place to relax after all the bustle of Delhi and Jaipur. Its a lot cooler up here and everyone seems a lot calmer. The staff cannot do enough to make your stay really enjoyable. The hotel seems to base itself on the old colonial style with lots of wood decoration. The rooms are good size with the usual amenities, comfortable and well laid out. Our room had a balcony but no furniture to sit and relax and enjoy the fabulous views, we were warned to keep the doors shut as they have a monkey problem invading the rooms. The food was quite good and plenty of choice. It takes about 30 minutes to walk into the bazaars as its all uphill but much better coming back.

Stayed in Cecil in June 2016 with family & friends and I must say that I haven't experienced a better service and courteous staff than this ever. All the best Team Cecil — Mr. Tashi, Manager; Mr. Vishal, General Manager; Mr. Rajkumar, Head Chef & everyone else who made our stay special. Have just returned from a stay in the Oberoi Cecil in Shimla as part of a tour around India's Golden Triangle with GRJ Where do I start? The hotel is fabulous with excellent rooms and views over Shimla and the foothills of the Himalayas. The restaurant serves wonderful food and the chef appeared each night to ask if the food was satisfactory. I think he genuinely wanted the guests to enjoy his food. The swimming pool was heated and like getting into a warm bath, very enjoyable after a days sightseeing. However, what really makes this hotel special are the staff. All the staff were cheerful, helpful and friendly. I am unable to praise them enough. Each and every one of them is a credit to the hotel.

We hear the train side street but it has its charms, we also see. Rooms comfortable, clean, excellent food, very good breakfast pancakes with banana recommend petie.
Nice, helpful, staff at your disposal. Only downside, only 30 minutes of internet free by day disappointing for a hotel of this category, even critical to the Wildflower hotel of the same group where I stayed. Given what we paid they should make efforts on this side, then some less prestigious hotels offer internet connection.
