One of the most correct guesthouses where I have been in over 10 years of roaming all over India. Nice, really clean, airy and sunny, comfortable beds and rooms full of shelves to place your things which is very handy if you stay for some time.

Basic simple and clean accommodation in Bodhgaya. The manager also really kind and helpful. Location is a bit far so better take rickshaw or tuktuk from the mahaboddhi temple.

These were the cleanest rooms we stayed, in all of India.

A super place to stay, off the main dusty and noisy road that leads to Mahabodhi. The rooms are nice and clean, the food is good, and Tara Guest House has one of the friendliest and most helpful staffs around. They can help you with travel arrangements and tours and it's nice to know that the owners also run a school for street children in Bodhgaya.

Really fantastic place. Very cosy, calmful, clean and comfortable. The owner is very helpful and nice person. We felt like home.

What a warm wonderful place. This family is so friendly and welcoming. You feel immediately at home. Rooms are clean and maintained well. I saw many other hotels in the area and they were not so well maintained. It's a little further outside but I didn't mind. The boys of the house drove me thrice, even twice at 5am to the temple. It's worth staying a little outside. It was in the hot month of September but I was fine in a non-ac room. Highly recommend this place!

If I could give 6 stars I would. The family make you feel soo welcome. You wont feel like a tourist. You will feel like part of the family. They cant do enough for you. You only need to ask.
You are only 20 rupees away from the temple.
HIGHLY recommended. Its not the Hilton. But its welcoming more than any place ive stayed. See you again next year.
Oh. And mummy Jee makes the best Chai in India.

Very nice place to stay with family in terms of cleanliness and safety. Owner of guest house is very nice person and will help in everything which is being required. Highly recommended.

Without doubt one of the favorite guest house I stayed during my time in India! Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the staff and general manager, our names were mentioned on the reservation book and we were upgraded to the Paradise Suite. The family was extremely friendly, the kitchen very flexible (appreciate this! ) and the kitchen supervisor deserves a special thanks. We had two great evenings here, which obviously also added up to the experience. The second day we did visit the Shanti India school which was guided by Anuj Kumar, who works as a project manager, manager in the hotel as well. Anuj is such a warm personality and highly motivated to support underprivileged children (recommendable! ). I truly enjoyed walking the three of us through the village. The scenery was beautiful and it was a relieve to walk in such a quiet and peaceful environment. The visit to school was great, and very smart children. We have also decided to sponsor a child Rahul Kumar; Note, this is not a 4/5-star hotel or so, but the atmosphere is so special that it really felt like home to me. All respect for the general manager who does a great job here; a true sample of excellent hospitality!

The rating of this guest house will depend on whether one likes this sort of setting (I do) — ie a guest house situated in a small village overlooking farmhouse backyards and country life. As such this is a unique place. The house was clean and service was very friendly and helpful.

This is very clean and cozy guest house, I have ever in my life. i hope to come back in my future and defiantly stay here.

We just spent a week with this warm family. A little away from the boiling of Bodh Gaya (or — 20 min walk through a pretty countryside or less than 10 min in rickshaws). In a ubiquitous blue, in a small village, the rooms and amenities are impeccable, in a clearing that naturally invites us to calm down. We can even cook there! or they will kindly offer you a meal. But the most important thing is that this guest house, run by Dominique (a French) and Anoudj, contributes to the financing of their "tutorial shool" in Bodh Gaya. It is a support school for poor children, which allows them to pass their government exams and thus obtain their diploma. It cares as best it can for 250 children spread over 10 classes throughout the school year, unlike dozens and dozens of schools apparently similar to
Bodh Gaya, only open to the peak tourist season, some "schoolboys" will take you to visit and whose "director" will offer to sponsor you. These are "screen" schools with qlqs children acting as figuration and they collect a few rupees in exchange … A real, well-organized mafia.
Being the third time we have visited Bodh Gaya, during this week we were able to be convinced of their dedication and honesty. You can also help them by sponsoring a schoolboy alone or to several. A child is enough to learn a month to ensure a chance to create a decent future for himself and his family in this beautiful country filled with inequality.
