I came to Hotel Djupavik with a friend after a long weekend travelling the Westfjords and staying in various places. We instantly felt warm and welcome, had the most delicious cakes, the whole place is cuter then my words can describe. This Hotel is beyond words I can find right now and Djupavik was our favourite of all the places we visited in the Westfjords. 10/10 ✨

We came just for coffee, but the place is so cosy that we had dinner and stayed overnight. Probably the most beautiful hotel/restaurant/pub in Iceland. Appreciated gluten free menu and amaizing service.

An absolutely wonderful place! It took much longer than we anticipated but when we walked in the staff was so welcoming. The kitchen had just closed but they let us order. We moved our belongings into the cutest cabin and when we arrived back the food was waiting for us. Words cannot describe how incredible the food was. We all agreed it was the best meal we had since arriving in Iceland. The herring tour was informative. It was amazing to see how life was during its heyday. The family has done so many renovations to the factory to keep it safe for visitors to see. The Justice League filmed the Aquaman scenes on the property and the information they shared with us was awesome. If you want to experience rural Iceland and be treated like royalty book your room now. It will be a visit you will cherish for years to come!

Magical. Some things are what they are, without guile or premeditation. You can actually watch a documentary that includes Hotel Djupavik during your Icelandic Air flight, then encounter the place itself and its fiery, spirited, and totally cool proprietess and her dog, Freya, while enjoying a killer meal of Icelandic cod. From there, now inured to insanely precarious narrow gravel roads, you have the fortitude to journey up to Krossneslaug, also unmissable. My second trip to Island, which I love, but Hotel Djupavik was clearly a high point.

Cosiest place in Iceland so far! The quite adventurous drive along the coast on that worn dirt road is totally worth it — you get a cake buffet as a reward (on Sundays at 14:00 anyway).
Plus, right next door thought provoking art in a spectacularly abandoned factory location. Could all in all be strait out of a roadtrip novel. ❤

Rustic and remote, this is the best of Iceland. Don't be fooled by the fact that the last 50K to the hotel is dirt road (thought my nav system was playing tricks), this little hotel and it's beautiful surroundings with take your breath away. I wanted to see the real Iceland and meet real icelandic people and boy did I find it in Djupavik! The service and food were fantastic. Be sure and take the old factory tour, absolutely fascinating history there.
