Gorgeous hotel fantastic service.

Nice and cozy… after a long day glacial hiking, it is so nice him to have a nice place to rest. Restaurant food is amazing good with reasonable price.

Check in was quick and efficient. Can be busy at night since it is a popular hotel and restaurant (and probably the only one) in the area. Love the atmosphere and decor! very classy. Rooms are spacious. This is the 3rd hotel we stayed in during our recent trip and so far, it is our favorite.

We enjoyed our one night stayed. Everything was perfect. Room was very clean, sound proof and comfortable. Dinner at their restaurant was the best meal in Iceland! All staffs were gracious!

Such a gem on the south coast, minutes away from Glacier Lagoon and so many other amazing geological sites. 4 stars in the middle of nowhere is really a five! BTW the restaurant and bar are stellar. They will even give you a wake up call if the northern lights appear after bedtime.

The menu does not change and has no variation (because of Covid), we find the same foods in bcp dishes so to change it's not great. Restaurant closed at lunchtime and has nothing less than 50 km to eat lunch. The evening waiter didn't want to help us at this level just saying it's closed and that's it. I would have liked to be aware of this big detail as I certainly would not have chosen to stay there 4 nights in these conditions.
Also when we are 5 and we are glued to a table of 4 pretending to the world when we were the only ones to dine is a bit of a nonsense.
And when we ask for the little fries with a slice of ham and they say "no it's only breakfast" I find it really stupid.

We enjoyed a wonderful stay in this exceptionally beautifully located hotel. Very nice service, fantastic food, great rooms with a great view of the sea.

Loved staying here! A bit of luxury for a nice price! Delicious cocktails and friendly staff, clean room, eco friendly bath products, awesome shower and cozy outdoor area :) We arrived late so missed dinner here but I hear good things. 5 star rating! We stayed here 2 nights! The hotel is about a half hour from Black Diamond Beach and Jokulsarlon Lagoon. The staff are wonderful, genuine and kind. The food was amazing! We are on the ocean side and can open a little window to hear the waves! The bathroom even has a walk in shower with radiant flooring. The hotel is very quiet and immaculate! Huge window to see out and catch the sunrise too!

Simply perfect! great staff, great food (I'm italian) and the bar offers a great selection of wines and beers!
The room service was absolutely comfortable and the sauna is the cherry on top of all this things!

I've had a very nice chocolate coffee on the 12 September in morning. The hotel was incredibly clean, it looks like it was coming from a magazine. Must praise the staff!

This is a really cozy place with a wonderful view to the Atlantic coast. Breakfest is really good, Nothing fancy but yummy bite before a busy hiking day. Dinner menu and wine selection are excellent and the staff is really polite and considerate.

This place is awesome and very close the beautiful glaciers Jokulsarlon.

This hotel was excellent, however it is pretty much the only game in the area and the prices do reflect that fact. The room was very clean and the patio and bar area were relaxing and comfortable. The restaurant on the second floor was very nice and I liked the ambiance and being able to look out over the area. There were some sassy sheep upon our waking, which makes sense for Iceland!

The restaurant cuisine was delicious, the servers were kind and check-in and check-out were very quick. The bathrooms in the rooms were oddly set up, which is why I'm only giving three stars. The shower was not very well segregated from the rest of the bathroom. While I showered, the water splashed all over the sink and the items on the counter. Honestly, it's the worst hotel bathroom design I've ever seen in 16+ years of traveling.

Beautiful property with a waterfall near the parking lot and visible from several rooms. Modern minimalist with well designed spacious rooms. We are at the restaurant: wife had the "farm" 3 course meal, I had the "sea" three course menu. At first we thought the prices were a bit high, but after calculating, and around the portions and food quality we found it a value compared to other comparable dinners. Sorry no food pics. Battery was dead.

The food was delicious and for a great value for Iceland! Rooms are great. Modern contemporary architecture. Loved the fact that they care about the environment with eco friendly amenities, recycling bins, etc. Did I mention the waterfall right by the hotel?! :)

Very nice location near a waterfall right at its drive way. Just down the hill is the best place to climb in Iceland, so that is a great bonus for me. It's not very far from the glacier lagoons, hence it's name, which are beautiful stops for pictures. I can not speak for the rooms, but the bar is fully stocked with pleasant service and a great view. Outdoor seating is also available for nice weather days.

A beautifully appointed and comfortable hotel in the middle of nowhere. The windows all around the hotel, and especially in ocean side rooms, provide incredible views. Perfect sojourn for south coast adventures. The lunch buffet was good, but a bit pricey (what isn’t in Iceland? ) and I wish they had more than 10 channels on the TV. We like to veg out to movies as we fall asleep after long days out and about. They do have a great sauna, but no pool or hot tub. I would have loved to relax in hot waters looking out at the landscape. But all in all, a fantastic stay!

Good quality rooms, excellent location, less than half an hour from the glacier lagoon, but in a quiet location near a small waterfall. Sea view room view is good, while the included Breakfast has a good range of buffet options. Unfortunately on out first day it was cleared away around ten minutes early mening we were unable to have our full planned breakfast. Food quality is good and Bar provides a good range of choice.

Beautiful hotel conveniently located on Iceland's Highway 1. Staff was very friendly and easy to work with. We were stranded from our hotel Fosshotel Nupar, and our luggage because of a snow storm, and Fosshotel Glacier Lagoon transferred our registration free of charge. Needless to say we were a bit stressed because of our situation, but the ease of working with the staff erased our concerns. The staff monitored road closure status and made personal and timely notifications to the guests who were stranded. The restaurant and bar area was fantastic. The setting is beautiful nestled beneath a glacier. I would definitely stay here again.

Anywhere in Iceland is the Middle of Nowhere, and this hotel is no exception… and it’s perfect. We stayed in the hotel for three nights, eating breakfast and dinner at the restaurant. The breakfast buffets were comprehensive and fresh. The dinner menu was gourmet with large portions. The rooms are typically European sized, but decor is a blend of rustic, with wood plank ceilings and tan tones, and modern, with bronze-bubble light fixtures and flat screen TVs. The staff was helpful and they even have a Northern Lights “guest call list” so that you don’t have to sit outside in the cold waiting; they will call you in your room if the lights make an appearance. The hotel could use additional amenities like a spa and indoor pool, but again, it’s in the middle of nowhere and someone took a great risk building an awesome hotel in the middle of Ring Road, perfect for glacial adventurers.

Very nice hotel. The rooms are setup to allow you to see the sky and hopefully the Northern lights. Sadly we missed out on our journey despite spending hours in the open air hot tub. Friendly helpful staff and great food too.

Remote… quiet… Great rooms with panoramic windows and a good breakfast!

The hotel is very nicely designed and the staff is very nice. Those who eat at the restaurant have a wide range of drinks and food. The view from the rooms was beautiful. Unfortunately, however, you can see that the planning was not very good. For example, the refrigerator stands in a piece of furniture without exhaust air. That's why he works very ineffectively and is loud. For one night, though, you can confidently look past things like that.

Stayed here for a tour and loved the place! Very new hotel, great rooms comfy bed. Shower was the highlight as you get some dodgy showers when travelling. Dinner was amazing and the service was fantastic. Breakfast buffet had a great selection. But most importantly we been lucky enough to see the northern lights from outside the hotel. There was a slight cloud cover and you had to be patience but worth it.

Luxurious, design, modern and elegant hotel. Ideal location to see the aurora Borealis, especially with large windows in the rooms that allow to have a nice view. Proper Sauna.

Stayed for one night. Free upgrade to suite and the room was fantastic and huge. Nice modern design and staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great with plenty of selection. Just that the sign leading to the hotel is just oddly placed and you will tends to miss it from the main road.

Didn’t stay at the hotel but stopped by for a meal. Service was pleasant and food decent. Ambiance was lovely and relaxed. Definitely enjoyed our time here and luckily happened upon happy hour in the lobby. Wonderful location and view.

The hotel was great! Our room was very clean and we liked the modern styled bathrooms. The front desk staff was very friendly and the restaurant upstairs is amazing!

This hotel is simply incredible. Standing in the middle of Icelandic scenery at its best, raw, gritty at the mercy of the elements! The hotel is a stunning piece of architecture with warm interiors. The rooms are so cool with cosy blankets on the bed. The whole place smacks of style and Icelend. The food is exceptional, service impeccable. We had an enjoyable evening tasting cocktails served by Vlad and simply loved our stay here. We had the most fantastic one night stay here and cant wait to come back.

A spectacular location. The hotel lacked design in the rooms but the food at the restaurant was stunning. The breakfast also delicious. Loved the architecture of the hotel especially as you are driving along Road 1.

It is a very modern and comfortable hotel. Its location made it perfect for our trip around Iceland. The rooms are very good. The breakfast was excellent with a great selection and plenty to choose from.

Fosshotel Glacier Lagoon is easily the best hotel we have stayed at. We stayed here for one night. They allowed us to check in early and we enjoyed walking around the hotel and the grounds, as it is built right next to a waterfall. The hotel is barely 1 year old and is gorgeous, inside and out. The room were flawlessly designed. We simply loved it there. One of the best features was the large window sitting area, where we were able to sit and enjoy the view sipping on coffee and when it was raining heavily at night time. We had dinner at the restaurant and it was delectable. We had the Farmer's Feast which included a Lamb Carpaccio, Pork with Rhubarb BBQ sauce, and dessert; it was incredible and our server was magnificent. I wish I remembered her name so we could say good things about her to the hotel. Breakfast was also good; many options. Excellent value.

This hotel looks like a Bond villain lair. We liked this hotel the best of any that we stayed at in Iceland. The food, accommodation, and service was fantastic.

I only had lunch here so couldn't comment on the accommodation. The lunch was a buffet with great varieties and very reasonably priced for Iceland standard. The hotel lobby and the restaurant has a nice clean modern decoration. The view of the surrounding is excellent, they even have their own waterfall in the premise.

Chambre spatieuse très bien agencée, petit déjeuner buffet complet (bacon, oeufs, fruits frais). Repas du soir au restaurant excellent, aliments locaux très bien présentés. Je recommande à tous ceux qui veulent passer une nuit très confortable et manger de la très bonne nourriture.

Had a lunch at the bar. Meat platter was excellent. Nice view and kozy atmosphere. Only thing to point out was that the window in the corner sofa was dirty inside and out. Probably a lot of work keeping the windows clean in this place.

Very modern, architecturally interesting building, great location between national park and lagoon, staff super friendly, nice bar/lounge area for relaxing outside of one's room, amazing b'fast included in room price, dinner food in restaurant could not have been tastier. Yes it's expensive — what in Iceland isn't?

We just stopped there to have breakfast and it was worth it. The buffet is really nice with a broad range of food and fresh fruit. And the view over the valley is really beautiful too.

The only thing I enjoyed about this hotel was their location. If we hadn't stayed here we never would have seen Glacier Lagoon, the Diamond Beach, and Hofn — some of my favorite parts of our two week honeymoon. Of 6 hotels visited this was by a large margin the worst. The staff were so unpleasant. We arrived at 3pm, one hour before official check in. We knew we were early, but occasionally your room will be ready, so it's usually worth a try. The staff would not check us in on the computer to get the paperwork out of the way, and we were completely brushed off. "Come back at 4". We made our way to the bar (directly behind the registration desk. At any point one of the 3 people staffing the desk could have turned around) and sat for an hour and 15 minutes with no service. At 4:15 I finally approached the desk and asked if they'd let us know when the room was ready. They responded with "Well it's 4 so it must be ready". We were finally checked in and made it to our room, only to find that it wasn't REALLY ready. There were old coffee grounds in the coffee pot, the shampoo dispenser in the shower was empty, trash had not been taken out, and there was grass on the bed like someone had laid on it with their shoes on. The rooms are cramped and clearly were not designed for comfort. This whole hotel was designed to be beautiful in that super Scandinavian 'form over function' way.

Awesome hotel to stay at. A bit on the pricier side but you get what you pay for. Happy hr is 5-7pm and is about $13 for 2 glasses of wine/beer and $15 for their cocktail of the day. Breakfast buffet is prob the best I've had in Iceland. Very nice interior design with a modern, chic look. There's a fridge, water boiler, but no microwave. Definitely recommended.

The Fosshotel Glacier Lagoon is awesome from the design, a little bit too dark on the mountain side but not really charming. Because it just opened around one year ago (according to one of the servants in the restaurant) and its modern design, it didn't really have any charm for us. In fact, it was a little bit cold… The staff is really friendly (most of them are not from Iceland but do a great job). The restaurant is expensive but offers great food what you can find in nearly all Icelandic hotel restaurants. If your room is on the right side, you have a fantastic view. All in all: You can stay there and have a good time but if you look for something with personality and charme, it isn't the first location I would choose.

Very nice hotel, the room was perfect. The mountain view gives the possibility to watch the northern lights but unfortunately we didn't catch any. The restaurant is amazing for dinner and the included breakfast is delicious. I highly recommand this place!

Sleek and modern design that blends well with the gorgeous natural scenery. A bus of tourists were checking-in just as we arrived, but was check-in was relatively fast. Got there in time for happy hour too, half-price on all drinks at the bar. The breakfast buffet has a great selection of food (breads, cheeses, sausage, waffles, salmon, etc. ) and the dining room has a great view. True to it's name, there's a waterfall just a short walk from the parking lot.

Room have high roof and unique design. Should get five stars but everything seems like they were on a rush to open the hotel and something's are not ready. They checked us in to a room that already have guest in there. The sink in the toilet leak brownish water. The toilet door cannot be lock because the screw wasn't put in properly so the door cannot be close. The rooms are quite far when compared to other hotel in Iceland. Other than that everything is good.

Very cool, modern hotel! Rooms are spacious and well equipped (with us there were also bedside lamps, and large windows overlooking the sea). The hotel is also easy to find as there are signs with indications and it is not to be missed. The food in the restaurant is very expensive, but was also delicious. The only thing that bothered us was the little bit of choice on the map, but the staff is open when reordering. Breakfast was also plentiful and good.

Great hotel, got something from James Bond movies. Point deduction for expensive dinner. No way to feed elsewhere.

We drove 30 km past it because the address was not visible in the Navi, nor was the hotel written or had flags on the street side, so that it could have been seen. The construction machines stood at the side and worked. In photos, the hotel is brown with trees, but if you drive past it, it's just a black block. It had bad bathroom Beläuchtung, no Nachttischlämpli and many other things were not there yet, because the hotel was not open until early June. The beautiful name Glacier Lagoon does not correspond to the place where the log stands. The architect wanted to put a monument, but failed… for such a beautiful, sparsely country. Hotel: No thanks.
