Splendid Residence was a lovely place, quite roomy and clean. I visited at the end of September when it was quite cold (in 10degrees C) in Budapest. They reason I did not give more than three starts is because there was no heat in the room. The proprietor pretended to adjust the heat, but the temperature was never more than 21degrees C.
Unfortunately the apartment was filthy and unkempt. The whole appearance of the furniture is very worn out. Bed sheets and towels were full with stains and hair. Towels seemed old and were thin like paper. The bathroom was a disaster. Shower/bathtub joints full with thick mold and you were able to smell it as well. I really don't understand how people can give good recommendations for this place. After 10 minutes in the apartment and having a look around, we booked another accommodation, even though we did not know, if we could cancel and get our money back at this point. With help from the website where we booked the apartment with, they remitted 1 night of our 2 night reservation. Still better than nothing! With a little bit more care and love of the owner, I am sure this could be a great place to stay. It's a big apartment with a really good location, small balcony and nice receptionists.

We stayed in suite 1.2. It was quite spacious, with two bedrooms, powder room, bathroom, living area and full kitchen. It is within easy walking distance of various sights and about 3 minutes to Parliament. There are high ceilings and tasteful modern decor. Free Wi-Fi is available. However, the drain in the sink in the powder room, as well as the drain in the shower / tub, was very slow. Within a minute you'd find yourself nearly ankle deep in water. There were three thermostats in the room, but it was unclear if any actually engaged the air conditioning. Fortunately the weather was cool enough that we didn't need it. The trash can's foot pedal in the bathroom was broken and looked as if it had been there for a long while. To get to this room you walk through a pleasant courtyard and pass through a foyer. We woke one morning to the alarm in the foyer because workers had left the door open. The was no clear way to silence it. It did eventually turn off. So, we had a pleasant stay but felt the rooms could have benefitted from additional care and attention.
