Review of Classic Hotel 3*

This hotel is a nightmare! It started when we arrived later than I had mentioned when making the reservation – so the receptionist politely told us the double-bedroom they promised before would not be available anymore. Instead she offered us a room with 2 separate beds — which was ok with us: We drove all night long and were pretty tired and not at all picky, so we agreed. At that point we didn´t even mind, that it was more than 5km away from the center instead of the 2.7km stated in the description on the internet. So we tried to enter the room – the door stuck. After several attempts we could finally open it. A really intense old, fusty „granny“-smell awaited us, the furniture seemed old, rickety and weak. The floor/carpet was obviously dirty, full of stains, so we didn´t even thought about getting off our shoes. Very disappointed but also tired at the same time, we decided to just open the window to get rid of the funny, moldy air and just take a nap. But then one of the shabby beds sag in the middle. We looked underneath the mattress and the slatted frame was fallen apart in a way we couldn´t stick it back together properly. I guess some people tried that before. So we asked to change the room. The one we were offered then was another horror show. Just after opening the door we were overwhelmed by a pungent smell of excrement. It was impossible to enter the bathroom without gagging. Addionationally the garbage bin in there hasn´t been emptied, — beer cans and other junk from former guests. Especially hairs in sink and shower grossed us out. The „fresh“ towels on our beds had visible stains. We were shocked, so disgusting. At least we got our money back from the same former polite now very rude receptionist and finally left this place. So I cannot recommend booking a room there – or to put it another way: I would strongly advice NOT to check in there. // german/deutsche version Das Hotel ist eine Zumutung! Bei leicht verspäteter Ankunft wurde — uns von einer freundlichen Rezeptionistin, deren Englisch jedoch ziemlich holprig war — bereits mitgeteilt, dass das reservierte Doppelbettzimmer nicht mehr verfügbar sei. Stattdessen bekamen wir ein 2-Bettzimmer. Soweit für uns kein Problem! Wir waren die ganze Nacht durchgefahren, müde und nicht anspruchsvoll. Auch, dass das Hotel statt den beschriebenen 2.8 km ganze 6 km vom Stadtzentrum entfernt lag, war uns egal. Bereits die Tür zum Zimmer ließ sich schlecht öffnen, das Türschloss hakte extrem. Beim Betreten des Raumes ein gräßlich alt-muffiger Geruch, die Möbel alt und klapprig, der Fußboden/Teppich war sehr dreckig und voller Flecken. You didn't dare take off your shoes. Disappointed, but very tired, we decided the window because of the unpleasant smell to open up and just relax to sleep. One of the dilapidated beds were strange after — a look under the mattress, showed a scantily zusammengeflickten and apart again fallen slatted, is not entirely going to sort let. We asked then for another room. This, however, was even more disastrous! You opened the door, and a disgusting-strict Fäkalgeruch suggested a contrary, drowned out even the mustiness of old furniture and the carpet. Also the Opening of the window created here does not help. The bathroom you could hardly enter without choking. There we found also the hair, beer cans and other garbage of the previous guests, what makes us even more disgusted. The "new" towels, the man on the bed placed together, had clearly visible stains … we were shocked. At least gave us the suddenly very patzige receptionist our money back and we left the "Hotel". This Hotel is not only not empfehlswert, but each is strongly discouraged here to check in!
