We had lunch there and they had the best Rosemary lamb shank! I cleaned my plate. They also gave us complimentary dessert — Tiramisu! This was also yummy! The apricot pannacotta dumpling we ordered was to die for!

Mistreatment!
They SCREAMED AND REBUKED ME saying that I was leaving without paying. The worst hotel we've been to. It is very far from the center, badly communicated by transport and it is very dangerous to walk because you have to go by a very narrow road next to the highway where the cars pass you almost touching. There is nothing nearby, the nearest bar and supermarket are 600 meters away. … One day we went down to dinner at 10 at night to the restaurant and they did not want to give us dinner although the kitchen closed at 11. Another day we left at 9 am and when we returned at 3:30 pm the room was unmade. I had to call reception so the clean lady come to make up our room with the consequence that we had to leave the room even though we wanted to rest.
In the bathroom there are bugs and it is very old, you better don't plug anything because sparks come out of the plug! To watch TV you have to pay and it is very hot because the air conditioning does not work well. Also to turn it on you have to get on the table because there is no command. But the WORST thing was that I arranged a transfer service with them from the airport, when we arrived they took our passports and gave us the key but they did not charge us for the taxi. For that reason we thought that they would charge it the last day or by the card.
In the 5 days we were there they did not say anything about it. The day we left we asked for another taxi to go to the airport.

I stayed at the hotel for a week during the end of August. The room was ok with standard amenities to a reasonable price. A stove and basic kitchen equipment was supplied to allow for basic cooking. The daily cleaning did however seem quite sloppy, although not to a disturbing extent As my room faced a small parking lot at the back of the building I never had problems with noices or the heat, in contrast to my colleagues with rooms facing the heavily trafficked southern side. The breakfast buffet was quite standard although expensive compared to Hungarian prices. If not included with the room it might be better to eat outside the hotel. Otherwise the hotel restaurant served great food. The service at the reception was exemplary with highly motivated and helpful staff. Smaller complaints was immediately resolved and everyone went out of their way to make our stay as easy and rewarding as possible.

Best Hotel to stay. Prime location. Big and good room with small kitchen. Nice hotel to stay with Family. We enjoy good breakfast here. Hotel employee are very cooprative. At last Home sway from Home.

A bit weird, very old fashioned but clean and staff are great. Not upmarket but not expensive either!

Very nice, clean hotel. Wonderful, attentive staff. Despite not knowing English, they understood each other. Separately, I want to note the cleanliness and cleaning of the rooms, as well as the waiters in the restaurant. Currency exchange was made only in a hotel, the rate is higher than in exchanges and safe. Very convenient location of the hotel, three bus stops to the center. The only negative is no kettle in the room.

We booked an apparent for 3 adults but one of the bed was put in the room just when we arrived and it was pretty small and uncountable. In addition in the room was extremely hot, but there is an air conditioning. Breakfast was decent. IMHO the price for the hotel is too high for what it offers.

Superb staff. Very good value for money. Rooms clean and tidy. Breakfast is very nice.

Feeling excited to come on 1st of July again to stay in the Hotel where everybody is nice and friendly and the service excellent.

Good 3 star hotel. Very nice staff.

Good location on the high bank. The breakfast was delicious. Nearby is a large green park, The Citadel and the Gellert baths. There are a lot less people in this bathing than in Szécheni.

When in Budapest, I use to stay only at Charles Hotel and this happens for 20 years long. I felt like at home, but last time, in the morning at breakfast I wanted to take my cup of coffee in to the room and bring it back later. First jumped the bell-boy into my way and rudely stopped me in a poor English that I hardly could understand. Then the receptionist Gyula D. Told me, in the same rudely manner, that the boss of the hotel forbide drinking coffee into your room (!? ) Why?! As long as there is a kitchent in the room, why is forbiden to drink your coffee in the room?!?!?! Long time before there were very kind and polite receptionists at Charles Hotel and also the bell-boys were very helpful and polite, but now the management of the hotel employed rude staff at the reception and bell-boys, as well. I left my cup of coffee just on the reception and left very disapointed! On my opinion, receptionists like Gyula D. Must not work in Charles Hotel anymore. I keep asking myself: " should I book reservation at this hotel, or not?! " Would I be able to drink my coffee into the room?

Exactly in front of bus stop. Near to Elizabeth bridge and gillert hills. They have bus tickets which anytime u can take at reception… They provide details about sight seeing and all the necessary information to travellers. Breakfast buffet was good. Accept credit cards too.

Stayed twice within 10 days at Hotel Charles in Budapest. It was our perfect place for bed and breakfast before continuing our journey. The staff was very friendly, very polite and always glad to help us with any questions we had.

A bit displaced from downtown but very well communicated by bus. Ideal location to visit the Citadel and the Buda Palace.

The price is too high. We asked them to include breakfast. But later while checking out we got a separate bill for breakfast. Regarding the cleanliness and connectivity to other locations, it is good.

For a short trip or for dental treatment to Budapest genuinely recommended. TV, Wi-Fi, and cheap restaurant. Room OK but simple. Some with kitchenette. Spartan clean bathroom. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. For the price range a solid good hotel.

Very friendly staff. Top. The Laage Zentrumnah. The room was very comfortable and the staff were very kind. A little more equipment in the kitchen during the super. The breakfast was not very good. Only if you are asked by the staff several times which room you have. That does not make you feel as if you are welcome.

Very nice hotel, super quiet with the restaurant super convenient and you eat very well. Breakfast is very varied and excellent. I would recommend this hotel which is in Budapest which is a very beautiful city visited.

The rooms of the hotel have just been renovated. Unfortunately, they had to pay an extra fee for an upgrade to one of the refurbished rooms. Apart from that, the "old" room was also quite good. Breakfast and dinner were very good and there was plenty of choice. Staff were always friendly and accommodating. Partly also with very good German language skills. From the hotel you are in about 10 minutes through the quarter and a park at the Castle Palace and thus almost in the city centre. Bus stops are close to the hotel.

Great location, buses stop right at the hotel door. It take 5 minutes to city centre buy bus and 20 minutes on foot. Staff are friendly and very helpful. The rooms are spacious, clean, nothing fancy but functional. It's very good value of money. You can ask for a quiet room if you feel the street noise bothers you. The hotel staff are very happy to help.

Clean and warm Hotel, located in a quiet area at 10-15 minutes walk from Buda. Spacious room with kitchenette, the dry receptionist (Eastern European style) but very helpful and effective.

Great place very well located not too far from the main spots on the Buda and the Pest sides. Very friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are spacious and well equipped. The price is perfect.

Exceptionally friendly staff, good breakfast, nice rooms. In borderline walking distance to Pest center. WLAN ok, bar/restaurant, but no fitness or sauna area … well, you can of course walk to the famous one nearby.

It is easy to get to the city center from the hotel. Although the hotel is not the newest, the rooms are nice and clean. Staff is very helpful with all questions and the atmosphere in the hotel is good. Breakfast is good, with a selection of egg, bacon, cheese ham with more.

The worst part of our experience was the cleaning in the middle of our stay. Shower didn't drain well so the bottom was full of grime and nobody cleaned that. The location isn't good, it's close only to the Congress center. The service was excellent, the kitchenette is very practical. Avoid the restaurant there is much better if you want to walk a bit. The breakfast package included a rotten apple and no ustensil.

Hotel located in the Buda area, from where you can get to the center in about 10 minutes, thanks to the bus stop in front of the hotel entrance. Breakfast ranges from brioches and cappuccino to bacon and eggs. The rooms are clean, unfortunately the central heating was set too high in our case, and it was not possible to change it. Overall an average hotel, honest price.

Well located only 3 bus stops away from Vaci u. Very well-connected excellent service, spacious but a bit dated. Clean and quiet (but better on the higher floors) has a good restaurant. Attractive prices. Discreet and helpful staff.

The price/performance ratio is super. The decor is not new but very clean. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Especially the Breakfast buffet is absolute TOP. Would always stay there again descend.

The recepcionist were amazing, very nice, helpfully and friendly, The room was perfect, very clean. The breakfast also very nice, with all that you need to eat. If I would come back to Budapest I will go to this Hotel. The receptionists very friendly and charming, all that I ask I helped with a smile. The room is very large and all very clean and very comfortable. I've been two days and I was very happy. The perfect breakfast and even dinner in the hotel both nights, good price and quality in the food.

We were taken by surprice when we got to the hotell. I'm from Sweden and not alot of hotells in Stockholm has door man except for hotells like the Grand hotell in Stockholm so imagen our surprice when we were greeted by a well spoken Hungarian doorman. We booked a room för three adults and a baby and the service before we got here was perfect. Fast replies and a "no problems" attitude. I was expecting a really shabby place considering the price that we were going to pay for our stay. But once again we were positively taken by surprice. Great hotell, good breakfast and a ok resturant makes the stay more than satisfactory. Will definitely stay here when ever we come to Budapest.

The staff was excellent, room was large and well kept, close to where we were going at the right price. We will stay there again, and have had our daughter stay there! Its not the Ritz but it is a good place to stay. And we will return.

Very poor and dirty. Room looked nothing like picture on website.

I was recently in this apartment and all I can say is that its location is excellent: good rooms, a restaurant serving a meal very good at a good price (breakfast is also very good) Although an apartment, there is room service. Finally, the best is the kindness and dedication to personal service.
Highly recommended.

Pros — Good restaurant, and complimentary breakfast Cons — shabby rooms, directly above a VERY busy intersection. Loud. No AC so you have to have the windows open. The staff are unhelpful and inconsiderate. I consider myself a fairly seasoned traveler with more than 1.5years of travel days logged in Europe and around the world. I'm generally not one to write reviews but this hotel has moved me to comment. Don't stay here.
