We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Media Luna (family of 4, 2 girls 10 & 14). We understood that it would not be a 5 star resort and they exceeded our expectations. There is only one restaurant and a snack bar… plenty of options to choose from. Beach was small but there were several of them and all quite calm and lovely. My youngest daughter did a scuba diving experience and they (Julie) were phenomenal! That being said ALL the staff were very helpful and welcoming at the resort. The rooms are all your own cabana. Good size and very large deck with a hammock, table and chairs. Shower was hot but the floor got really wet… nothing a towel on the floor couldn't deal with! Overall a we had a great family getaway for the price we paid. Thank you! We did one excursion to the Sloth and Monkey rescue place — excellent experience!

I loved it. Peaceful, beautiful reefs. Food good what little choice. To be avoided section hills. Cabana without fail.

A very nice hotel away from the noise with its private beach, the staff very friendly and attentive, the food quite rich recommended.

Excellent care and entertainment, beautiful scenery, very nice and nice facilities… Delicious.

The hotel and staff are awesome but they have to work with the transfer to and from the hotel specially being so far away from the airport and ferry.

Really nice resort very peaceful. We had bungalow 168. Staff was friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back. Snorkeling was excellent and so was the weather.

The resort is beautiful, the food is good, they are generous in their alcohol … The resort is clean, and big, and relaxing. My only comment is that it's isolated. So if you want to relax, this is your resort. But if you want to do excursions and explore I wouldn't recommend. The excursion price are expensive! We took a taxi, who was way more reasonable.

The view was incredible and the reef was so close, easy to swim to from the beach, the property is beautiful and everyone was so nice… So many things to do easily on the island.

Paradise for diving. The team of the dive shop very compis and friendly.
My only negative point…
The Boutique of the hotel is small so not a lot of souvenirs dear. And nothing less than 20 min and taxi if we want to bought.

Nice place. But very isolated. Expensive to get out of the site. Taxis are not allowed have to take their transportation.
Very small beach.
Very average food not done on site (comes from another hotel located at 45 minutes… So some cold dish but microwave is available. ) but for diving.

We had a great 10 day vacation here. It was clean, food was good, service was good, location is really nice. Scuba Dive shop on site is very convenient if you're into that. It's a little off the beaten path so excursions can be a bit involved. We spent our days scuba diving so we basically stayed on the resort. Overall we were very happy with our stay here.

We were there for Christmas and New Year and this was the worst ever! Do not choose this place, over priced horrible service, horrible food, insulting "hill rooms" 19 square meters for 2 people — in the place apart from resort that looks like a shack and were workers sleep! And all this at the price higher than regular rooms. The room inside was dirty and dusty, no fridge or closet for clothes… small bed … if you are tall your feet will stick out (more than 6 feet tall). Some blankets you would get an instant rush from just looking at it… I did. We had to move to another resort and paid extra. And they refused to reimburse us for any of these. Horrible place. Newer again will we go not even close to this place.

Fairly ordinary no bar knob no restaurant no snack 24 hers and the bar are all closed after 23 hours bufet quite repetitive and no animation on the resort I can believe that c is a 4 star resort seems on the decline even though the concept and very good lack of maintenance for scuba diving c is wonderfu the sites are superb.

The resort is small. Everything is pretty clean and tidy. The stuff is friendly. Some of them speak English very well. The beach is clean, located in the bay, so the sea is pretty quiet. Looks like a mini Paradise, but beware of parasites: we had been viciously bitten by sand flies/fleas. They say it depends on the season, but there is always something. Management do not spray with insecticides. The food is tasty but the variety is pretty scarce. We had the same menu with little variations for the whole week. On the Christmas eve there was a completely different menu, though :-) The entertainment is pathetic. Looks like it's done by the same people who wait tables there. There are 2 pool tables and gym. No tennis tables or courts. The snorkeling is very good though. There is also a dive shop there. All the rest of activities are outside and if you want to book it from the hotel it costs a fortune. They accept credit card, but if you pay not cash they will charge you $10 (US only) more. The tiniest car to be rented is $100 and it's a challenge to drive on this car on the only road (full of potholes) they have on the Roatan island. And finally, the internet is not reliable at all. It works sometimes in the lobby only. Also we have the phone in the room, but it was out of order and we could not even call reception. There is a TV. After a few days it ceased working, but they replaced it really quickly.

Really nice place, great people. Snorkeling off the site was great. Not a diver so I can't comment on that directly. The resort is starting to show its age, but it is kept clean. More then one small bar would also be good.

Best place for snorkelling and diving. None of my other travels have ever topped my experience here. Absolutely love the cabin-style suites.

Excellent place to be romantic well treated secluded and excellent for snorkeling one of the greatest places in the world for snorkeling.

Nice hotel, very quiet around here. But great snorkeling! Also a great place to book divings and snorkeling tours to Pigeon Cay!

Come here if you love nature and snorkeling/scuba diving! The best place myself and my all my friends have seen so far… It's a protected natural park, so it comes with some aspects that some people won't appreciate. If you are a princess, stay away. Cabanas need some maintenance but they do the job and the A/C is very good! Food is nice, better than Cuba, but the buffet is small and about the same every day, so if you're picky, go elsewhere. The rudimentary aspect of the resort can be very appealing for some, because of it's location (in the middle of jungle) … Again, if you love nature (the real one), and you can deal with some downsides (e. G. Sea water of the tap) you will love this place!

Loved it. However, if you're a tea drinker bring your own tea, they only provide decaf pekoe and green tea. Also if you're diving bring your own wetsuit (their shorties are ok but they don't have good long ones). The cabanas were great, but no wash clothes or windows that open.

Small spring away from crowds on a rush, lots of trees and the sea. Located 30 minutes from the airport of Roatan, not far away in kilometres but the snaking road. The accommodation is in a "Cabana" of good size, with large terrace and hammock… heaven. 2 beaches private, small but sufficient in view of the size of the complex. The pools are well maintained but would require a bit of renovation. Diving snorkeling it's beautiful without having to stray too far from the beach. The food is good, the cooks do miracles with little.

Terrible resort with bad food and moldy bathrooms. The location is beautiful but doesn't make up for the rest of the resort.

We just arrived back home after spending a week at Media Luna in Roatan. This was our 3rd visit to the resort. WE generally go in late January or early Feb but this year my wife celebrated her Dec birthday there and it was wonderful. The rain only came at night and by morning the sun was out and it was hot. The staff remembered us from the previous year and some called us by our first name and believe it or not a lot of them remembered us the second time we arrived there too. The staff? how can I express my feelings towards them and do them justice they are truly the most talented caring helpful group of people I have ever had the pleasure of spending time with. There was never a time that I wanted for anything right from the guys on the beach to Kenny at the bar to all the servers and then the performers are just awesome. The majority of them I keep in touch with via social media because they have become such important parts of our lives. The cottages as I like to refer to them as are spacious and clean and the views are spectacular, I suggest for your first visit go for an Ocean Front Room you won t be disappointed but really all the grounds around Media Luna are beautiful. The beach is great for those beginner snorkeler's like we were when we first visited the resort, and now we have moved over to the dive shop area to snorkel its truly breath taking for sure, The food is excellent and there is always plenty of it for sure with a wide selection to choose from.

It was something very beautiful, I brought you to this place they treat you well and the price is comfortable.

Good and comfortable resort but with a very small beach approximately 300 ft wide. There are 1 medium size swimming pool and 2 small pool, all on wooden decks. One buffet and one bar. Food choice is limited but quality is OK. There's a dive center, dive is 40$ plus 15$ equipment rental. Staff very friendly and helpful. All rooms are in separate bungalow with private balcony completed with chairs low table and hammock. Nice trees and flowers surrounding. Quiet resort, on this month of July stay, there are just about 50 guests. The place is ideally suited for lovers looking for intimate setting. But on Sunday July 13 the resort lost its water completely for one full day, the water pressure came back only this morning. No water to wash or to flush the toilet is not easy.

Vacationed here in April 2014 with my wife, daughter, son-in-law and grandson. Nice, quiet relaxing vacation. Fantastic snorkelling right from the beach; near the point by the dive shop. Our cabanas were clean, roomy and each cabana has a deck with hammock, table and chairs. Always were able to find something good to eat at the buffet. Swimming pool volleyball was fun. Only one bar with limited variety of drinks. Small, quiet resort. Never had trouble finding loungers. Not a lot of shade around the pool. Apparently closing for several months for renovations. We would definitely consider returning.
