Kindness, good facilities and affordable prices.

Almost everything were fine except for one thing that the room service restaurant did, but I'm not disclose here.

Excellent service, elegance, cleanliness and good location.

Great place. Nice interioir garden with a pool. Excellent environment to grab a meal; breakfast, lunch or dinner. Nice people and has a parking lot.

So often these historic buildings have a big tradeoff in quality. Everything here was perfect.

Would give a 3.5 rating if possible. Quite liked it although was treated quite poorly initially when appointed a nice room which suddenly got changed to a bad room at the back of hotel after receptionist realised I didnt speak a lot of Spanish. Room first given smelled of sewage. Balcony dirty. The soles of my feet were black after 5 minutes. No furniture on balcony. Coffee machine plug did not reach electrical point so had to move it around. Only 2 hangers in wardrobe. Styrofoam cups for coffee in room instead of nice white China which they have in hotel… who does that? No filter for coffee machine, no milk or cream. Rather thoughtless. On complaining was reallocated the room I was initially appointed. Why was this changed in the first place? Young guy on reception quite rude, pulling strange faces when I asked about the hotel facilities. Do you have a gym? A what? Que? Oh a gym. Yes. Do you offer massage. Answer: no, we are not a spa! How rude. Also when asked for water was about to be charged for it until I questioned why no free water to drink to which I was advised oh yes in reception! But I had to push and pry to get that info. No English speaking channels on tv. In this day and age in a 4 star hotel in a big city. Not even BBC world or CNN. No ashtray offered when sitting smoking. Attention to detail very lacking. Not what I expected for the price and compared to other glowing reviews. Strikes me as very odd everyone gives 10/10. For real?

Wonderful hotel in a former mansion. It is comfortable with old pieces everywhere. Beds are very comfortable. They offer a welcome cocktail and free breakfast as well.

In Guatemala City C is difficult to have more cozy and enjoyable. Nice and friendly decor. A exellent drop-off point in the capital. (Free taxi to the airport! )

Beautiful Hotel loved to hear the history of these old well kept home made into a hotel. This building was built in the 50s as told by some of the very nice heard working staff ladies that help kept the guests happy. I enjoyed very much the history lesson giving by the staff of Hotel San Carlos as well as the very comfortable room & atmosphere. The beds were extremely comfortable. The restrooms are wide & very clean. Wi-Fi in every area of the hotel is a must for me & great for answering e-mails & getting work done. Free Breakfast is a huge plus. The bar drinks are amazingly relaxing & the meals at their dine in restaurant are superb. My husband and I are definitely coming back on our next vacation to Guatemala & bring family & friends.

I was here for 10 days very nice experience from the customer service, the room services, restaurant etc. Thank you very much for a good service. This is by far the best hotel I had the pleasure of staying during my most recent visit to Guatemala city, from the moment you drive through the security gate you know you made the right decision. I wish my memory was good to remember the name of the girls and private driver because they went beyond my expectations to make sure my visit was a lifetime experience. I highly recommend this hotel its beautiful and super safe they will go beyond your expectations to make you feel at home.

Hotel San Carlos was so beautiful! We loved how relaxing it was. The staff was amazing and friendly. They went above and beyond to please! Highly recommend Hotel San Carlos and will definitely go back when I'm back in Guatemala City!

This place is down right superb. Very elegant and the service is great. It's an old millionaires mansion concerted into this boutique hotel. The elegance of the old mansion is intact but yet splashes of contemporary style compliments the look. You would swear this place is in France. The beds are plush ans comfy and yes there is hot water. The price is reasonable and the people who check in are respectable. Just one block from the US Embassy and across the street from a walking park the goes down the middle of La Reforma blvd.

Top notch on every thing. Thick towels, real China and other flatware, comfy beds and fluffy pillows, hot shower, many places to lounge with nice furniture… Just absolute top notch. Never thought I would get this level of comfort and elegance from some old millionaire's mansion in Guatemala city.

Beautiful hotel in an older building, but nicely renovated. We had a double room suite on the top floor which was large and well appointed. Only sorry that we stayed one night. The hotel clearly takes security very seriously, but it was not overwhelming. We enjoyed the restaurant, they had a reasonable selection of items and an affordable wine list. The hotel is just two doors down from the US Embassy and it seemed that there were many guests who were working or visiting the embassy.
