I loved it great location great family.

Structure is very friendly and quiet, great for relaxing. A 5-minute walk from the harbour and 5 minutes drive from the city, in a strategic position. Lambros and his family, they made us feel at home and gave us excellent recommendations for dinner and visit the beaches! Directed!

The rooms are quite spacious, clean and stylish. The Villa is very close to the Ios port and is literally next to Yialos beach. The host is very friendly and always ready to help. I highly recommend this place, as the ideal stay is guaranteed.

Perfect. You have everything you need: iron, hair dryer, etc. Rooms are super comfortable. The host is also super cool and will give you directions and suggestions what to explore.

Classic for the ESV people and for the price and location totally worth it. Some rooms have a small kitchen and for the others there is the communal kitchen which works fine as well. And the party's at lit!

Villa Mata is a very great place to stay in Ios. The pension is very cosy, charming, the rooms are great, well decorated with many services (lockers, balcony, dryers), The owner and all the staff is very nice and do everyhting to make your stay good. It's located near the beach and near the port. And there's a kitchen in the cool garden. Great services, great hosts.

Had a fantastic stay in Villa Mata under excellent care of Lambros, would recommend to anyone visiting the island to stay in Villa Mata. Lambros is a top guy, rooms are excellent and you are well looked after.

A great place to stay in Ios. You get off the ferry and if Lambros isn't there to greet you, it is a 3 minute walk to Villa Mata. My room was in the back of the property. It was quiet, with a comfortable bed. The mattress was firm. The air conditioning worked well. The shower was great. The room was clean with a refrigerator and plenty of storage. The Wi-Fi signal / connection dropped occasionally but I wasn't there to surf the net. There is a great bakery with coffee, a supermarket, rental cars, multiple restaurants, tour companies and shops all within 3 to 5 minutes walking time. The beach is another 3 to 5 minute walk. The town center with more shops, restaurants, shopping is about a 15 / 20 minute walk if you take the stairs and not the road. Villa Mata is in a fabulous location. Lambros is a great host and goes the extra kilometer/ mile to make sure your stay is great. Thank you Lambros!

Welcoming owner and really listening, he treated you almost like family. The villa is a small cozy and warm pearl. There is about a 20th room and the little garden piece is really cute. A very big surprise for us! And it should be stressed that the price is really low for the quality of the accommodation!

First of all I want to apologize for the delay in writing this review. We stayed at Villa Mata during our summer holiday. We chose the place after reading the previous reviews and I can confirm that you won’t be disappointed. The room was spacious and clean, with a small terrace with table and chairs, and a daily cleaning service. There was a communal kitchen in the garden; very handy if you don’t want to spend every evening eating out. The location of the place is perfect – a short walk from the port, beach, shops and restaurants, but still in a quiet area a little way from the main town.
The best surprise was Lambros, the owner. He is extremely welcoming and helps with any problems or questions you might have. He also went out of his way to help us find another convenient accommodation when we had to move, saving us time.
I recommend Villa Mata without any hesitation and if I go back to Ios it will definitely be my first choice.

Nice place, cheap and comfortable. Clearly not luxurious, but you get everything you need for a great price, the place is quiet but close to the port and the chora. In the end, Lambros, the owner, is simply the nicest person, he's always helpful and funny.

Great for students needing a cheap but perfectly adequate place to stay while visiting the island.

Simply the best! great location (very close to the port and 10 min. Walking from Chora), great, simple and clean rooms. Very helpful staff, especially Lambros, a friend more than a hotelier. Find better in Ios? Impossible I would say!

Beautiful island and with lots of nightlife, beautiful beaches and clear blue sea. Villa Mata is an excellent location and is convenient as accomodation, clean and the innkeeper, Lambros, is a unique sympathy! Just try it, you won't be disappointed!

Ana amazing place that really makes you feel like home. lambros is the best! he is the king of ios and he treats guests like family. if you really wanna enjoy this island and have a great time, then villa mata is the hotel you have to stay! we loved it and we def recommend it.

The best located place in ios! what we loved the most?!? waking up and the beach being 1' from your room! only in greece! also, we found freaking great when you return form all the nightlife and you are sooo drunk, go to villa mata, wear your swim suit and have a swim at 7am! awesome! thats why the location is great! also, the bbqs were cool! the garden, the fast Wi-Fi. I could keep going on and on about this place! we love it.

Location and cheap! also fast Wi-Fi even in out rooms. And of course dont forget the amazing owner, georgia. She is the best! every day she was waking up at 3 in the afternoon to clean our rooms! lol! she is the best! we just love villa mata! we WILL return next year for sure.

Breathtaking! thats one word you could describe that cute place! we were a froup of 6 people that stayed there last year and we just decided to go back again next summer! some rooms have also a small kitchen and that works great for us cause we cook a lot! we also used the bbq in tha garden. Generally we cook all the time! :-) nice, spacious rooms and everyday cleaning is what you get.

Small but is has everything! fast Wi-Fi, clean rooms, amazing location! we just love vila mata! we will return.

The best place on earth! lovely, friendly, clean, well located! the owner met us at the port and he took us to the hotel which is 5' walking away. what we looooved was the bbq! we stayed there 5 nights and we bbq-grilled 3 times! also the communal kitchen in the beautiful garden is vey useful but also a great place to meet other guests! we will definately recommend this small hotel to all our friends back home! villa mata has it all.

Wonderful place to stay. Clean, pretty, friendly, very reasonable, and 2 minutes walk from the port beach, which is lovely. I have traveled a lot all over the world, and this place is what I call simple pleasure by the beach side. Lambros who runs it is extreemly nice and will help our with whatever you need. Very close to local little beach cafe/bar and a small super market, all in the port village. I will come again and again.
