Hotel Miranda

Staff so so friendly and helpful, whole place had an amazingly relaxed and welcoming feel, room super clean tidy and pleasant, breakfast extensive and enjoyable in sanctuary of a garden. Location is set back ever so slightly from tourist drag at front. We only stayed 1 night and would have loved to stayed more, if we are back on Ydra we will book here again no doubt. Thanks Jethro and Caroline.

A last minute decision to stay with my adult son and three grandchildren and couldnt have been better. Beautiful, immaculate and spacious suite with a rooftop terrace for a reasonable price. Staff friendly and helpful in every way. Terrific location and even ok with my present temporary crutch.
Highly recommend!

A quaint and very authentic Greek hotel with very good hospitality. Friendly staff and a warm welcome. Many different types of rooms so research ahead of booking. The garden area is lovely. Breakfast is great in the garden but you do have to book your food the night before. Not a big deal and it helps their planning. Hot water is a treat. Not always available in Greek hotels and Airbnb. Good location away from the main port but only a 3 minute stroll down to it. Enjoyed our stay.

The hotel is less than a five minute walk to the main port. It has a lovely historic Maritime feel about it and the staff could not do enough to ensure that I was comfortable and happy. The breakfast in the courtyard is a very authentic Greek experience. I highly recommend it. About an eight minute walk to Leonard Cohen‘s house, you can walk or either take ferries to the beaches. The perfect medicine for an exhausted lady from the other side of the world.

A beautiful small hotel housed in a charming old classical building. Spotlessly clean.
What stood out most was its lovely garden, but what truly made it special was the kindness of the staff and all the small thoughtful details that set it apart.
There were fans placed throughout the garden, a nice breakfast, and even a water dispenser with cold water always available.

The Miranda is a lovely little hotel, close to the town centre. Our room was spacious with plenty of storage space. The bathroom is on the small side with a shower curtain rather than a door. Breakfast is ordered the night before and is served in the garden.
We didn’t see any staff apart from when checking in and out and at breakfast.
This is a good place to stay if you want comfort and peace and quiet.

Miranda was an incredibly gracious host. The hotel was beautiful, comfortable, and was the perfect setting for our Hydra experience. A very short walk to everything. Lovely breakfast. Friendly staff. We will miss out home away from home.

What a wonderful place. The rooms are historic and charming. Ours had a large balcony that overlooked the town down into the harbor. We were a 3-minute walk from the harbor. Delicious and simple breakfast in the courtyard every morning under orange and lemon trees and various other flowering vines. Great value.

Hotel well located, in the center of Hydra and short walkikg distance to the port, but in a quiet street. Nice and peacefull inside garden. Nice view over the roofs of the city, particulary from the room 3 which as a big terace.
The staff is very kind and do is best to give you good tips about the iland, restaurants, …

Courtyard for breakfast is really nice.

Fabulous guest house hotel. Easily walkable from the port. One of the oldest houses on the island. 1840. Walled courtyard garden that is beautiful. I imagine even in summer it would be cool. 29 degrees when we were there and it was gorgeous. The rooms are large and full of character. Aircon and shutters. Very quiet. Breakfast was good with yoghurt and more choices. George, the manager, and the quiet, but welcoming and helpful young lady were very, very accommodating.
We very much enjoyed our stay at Miranda.
Don't hesitate to book this fine guest house.
Hydra has many restaurants… Psaropoula, Sunset, Techne.
Sundowners on the rocks below Sunset cafe is great… Take your swimmers. It is wonderful to see the sun set in the water. It's always warm.

We stayed here with a group in August 2024. I saw our friends' rooms and they all looked amazing, unfortunately, we were allocated room 10 which was way below par.
The room was tiny, no room for our 2 suitcases, the bed was on concrete and very uncomfortable and the bathroom which was also tiny had an unpleasant smell.
If you book this hotel, please ensure they do not allocate you room 10!
Otherwise, the service and location were great.

My husband, two teen/young adult sons and I stayed here for 3 nights. It’s a hidden gem of a hotel that I only found because so many places were already booked on a busy August weekend. We stayed in room 4-5 which has 2 bedrooms, a shared corridor from which you can see the ocean, and a private rooftop terrace. The hosts were friendly and the breakfast of daily pastry, bread, fruit, coffee and hot egg and other dishes was satisfying. We hope to come again!

Great location not far from the port. The room was clean and the staff was very polite and helpful. They recommended beaches, bars, restaurants etc and they were very accurate. The breakfast was so fresh and home made. The only negative is that the family who were at the room above, was very noisy. So sound insulation is not great.

Miranda’s hotel has no charms, the « garden » if we can say it like that, is really hot. The breakfast is terrible there is no effort every day as the fruit salad, watermelon not even Somme banana or apple, the orange juice was industrial whilst they made a speech about the fact that they make everything that contains orange with their orange tree (I didn’t see it). The room was execrable in the reservation it was written that it was a family apartment with 2 bed rooms 44 m2. What we saw when we arrived : the room was just near a AC block, the room was at the very ground floor (an old « storage room »), in the pictures we’ve seen a little garden that was with the room that we booked the garden was in front of breakfast no privacy, the room was dirty a smell of pipe stayed all the days (they told us that a plomber would come he came but the smelling still remained, there were no desk no coffee machine juste a fridge in the middle of the room, the curtains were dirty, the shower curtains were also really dirty 🤮…, all the night a really noisy sound that we were able to here from our room came from a battery because there was no more electricity in the hotel. So we (at 5 am) go away from our room find a woman that was using the battery we took it and we putted it out of the hotel.

Older meticulously maintained historic property. We had rooms 4-5 because we needed 2 bedrooms. From our common hallway we could see the water. We also had an amazing huge private rooftop patio with both ocean and mountain views. Both bedrooms were very large with comfortable, larger than king size beds. You do have to walk through one bedroom to get to the other. The bathrooms are typical Europe tiny but certainly adequate. They do provide soap and shampoo and lotion. Each room had a large TV though you’ll never need them as the entertainment is outside on the island. A hot breakfast is served on a beautiful garden patio. Reception service is friendly and excellent.
