Maison Muse

Not “serene” at all, my petite patio room (#1) is literally 2 meters across from the reception area with a very loud man almost constantly talking to people coming and going or on the phone.
Perhaps this is a non-issue if the weather is lovely and you are out and about enjoying activities. But alas, it is miserable weather and I am just wishing to read and nap…
The room looks very elegant, but is not functional at all in that there is only one luggage rack and no other surfaces to place a second piece of luggage or anything else. I cannot imagine how two people could be comfortable in this space. That said, the king size bed is cozy and linen high quality.

I had a wonderful 3-night stay at Maison Muse in Hydra. The location is perfect—peaceful and tucked away, yet still close enough to everything, making it ideal for a relaxing escape.
The cleanliness was outstanding; everything felt fresh, well-maintained, and thoughtfully prepared. The atmosphere of the place is truly special—calm, cozy, and beautifully designed, making it easy to unwind and enjoy the island’s charm.
What made the experience even more memorable was the kindness of the staff and the owner. They were incredibly welcoming, attentive, and genuinely caring, which added such a personal and warm touch to the stay.
Overall, a truly lovely place that I would happily return to.

We loved our stay at Maison Muse! The hotel is quite lovely, very clean, super comfortable, and the linens and products in the room are very nice. It is just a quick and easy walk from the marina as well as located closely to many shops and restaurants located there. Best of all, the host, Kostas, is absolutely wonderful! Kostas speaks English very well, is attentive and responsive, and will provide you with many great recommendations for restaurants and most likely anything else you might be looking for. We highly recommend Maison Muse.

The owner was very helpful and everything was clean and new. But the rooms were very small and easy to crack the skull open on low ceilings which I did over and over. Privacy was not so good as most porches were shared by several rooms.

This boutique hotel is beautifully designed and in a fantastic location. It was very clean and comfortable. The host, Kostas, is incredibly kind and generous and was there to greet us every morning. He was also able to tell us where to go on the island for the best food, cafes and shopping. We felt so well taken care of and are already planning to go back next year. This is the best place to stay in Hydra.

Kosta's, the owner, was extremely helpful and friendly. The staff were very accommodating. While the rooms were fairly small, the view from the balcony was spectacular, so you never were in the room too much. It's also right next to a fantastic restaurant.

We had a lovely stay at Maison Muse. The location is excellent and is only 5 minutes from the harbor and the rooms are very clean. The manager provided prompt service to concerns and was helpful with suggestions and reservations for restaurants or day trips around the island. The rooms are petite, but have a large common space outside including tables where guests can sip their morning coffee or relax in the afternoon.

10/10 this place is absolutely amazing! I highly recommend this hotelier Hydra, as the service is impeccable, the location is excellent and the accommodations are world class. Rooms are updated, most with good views. Plenty of outlets to charge, and a comfortable setting. Hydra is a magical place, this hotel adds to the mystique. You should stop your search and stay Maison Muse!

We had a very pleasant experience staying at this hotel. The rooms have a nice aesthetic, with warm sand colours. The location is ideal because it is in the city centre, close to the port and the museum. Close to restaurants and shops. We had the time to explore the town and the rest of the island. The reception was welcoming and friendly.
The island is absolutely beautiful. Next time we visit, we will definitely choose to stay at Maison Muse hotel again.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Maison Muse in Hydra, and I can honestly say it was one of the most memorable travel experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and genuine hospitality that made us feel instantly at home.
The property itself is absolutely stunning – beautifully restored with meticulous attention to detail, blending traditional Hydra architecture with elegant, contemporary design. Every corner of Maison Muse feels curated with care, from the tasteful furnishings to the serene outdoor spaces. The ambiance strikes a perfect balance between luxury and comfort.
Our room was spacious, immaculately clean, and filled with thoughtful touches that made our stay extra special – from the plush bedding and high-end amenities to the incredible view from the terrace. Waking up to the peaceful charm of Hydra each morning was a dream.

I never write negative reviews but this experience warrants it. I had a confirmed reservation at Maison Muse, which I booked well in advance. Just 3 days before my scheduled arrival, I received a message informing me that my room had been cancelled. No prior warning, and no real explanation. This left me stranded with almost no other options since the island is fully booked for this particular weekend. Customer service was unapologetic and more concerned with deflecting blame than offering a solution. I would strongly advise travelers to think twice before booking with this property. Reliability matters, and sadly, this hotel proved to be anything but.

My reservation got cancelled at the very last minute when we arrived at the counter. Yes, they refunded the money to us but referred us to another hotel that doubled the price. It was a terrible experience and I had never experienced something like this before. There was no compensation, and this is clearly the fault of the hotel. Fortunately we found a hotel with a similar price. I will never book this hotel again!

Really nice hotel that really has the Greek feeling. It is really close to the port of Hydra, yet in a quiet place. The bed was so comfy that I even slept through my alarm!
However, when we booked the booking mentioned a pool and breakfast. The "pool" (that is honestly just a tiny bit bigger than a bathtub) was drained an we could not find for the love of god where the breakfast was. Wich is something to keep in mind while booking.

I feel this hotel trades on its location. The room was very expensive in comparison to others we have stayed in. The bathroom was tiny and hard to move around in. The coffee machine was difficult to navigate and the electrics were under the shelf in order to use them we had to put the appliances on the floor. The bed was very comfortable. I felt for the size of the room it was overpriced. The lady who checked us in was very helpful and friendly.

Upon our arrival there was an initial misalignment between the reservation we made and what was offered to us upon arrival. However, this was shortly resolved and we greatly enjoyed the room that was offered to us, the decoration, the deliciously scented sheets, the location of the place which was quiet but close to the port, we enjoyed the mini pool / jacuzzi very much. Thank you to the manager at Maison Muse for resolving for the mishap generously.

The place is fantastic and location too! The rooms are very clean and beautiful brand new. We had a little trouble with our booking but the reception girl gave us a good response and help us with the accommodation I rate this place a 5 star for the location and accommodation and plus has a pool.

We are ending our 10-day trip through Greece with an escape to Hydra, and staying at Maison Muse has been the pinnacle of our journey. We fell in love with this intimate, confidential hotel. The place is even better than the photos, just 5 minutes from the port and some excellent restaurants, yet so tranquil—a true haven of peace. The decoration is incredibly tasteful and charming, with every detail carefully considered. The staff is exceptionally attentive, always ready to meet our needs with a smile. From the moment we arrived, we knew we would want to return. This relatively new gem should be booked quickly before it becomes too popular. A huge thank you for this memorable experience.
