Sofia Hotel

Great and very friendly family run Hotel with a super breakfast buffet. Free parking around the corner as well as access to a lot of restaurants and shops. Highly recommended if you look for accommodation in the area of Plakias.

Great location within resort.
Rooms are well decorated and equipped.
The beds are enormous and very comfortable.
Rooms are cleaned every day and bedding and towels changed every 3 days.
Family run to a very high standard.
Excellent breakfast every day with lots of choice.

I stayed at this hotel three times and found it great.
Central location. Very clean, comfortable rooms.
The staff tries hard and helps with any issues.
Breakfast buffet was very good, I could find everything I wanted.
Plakias is a beautiful place with plenty outstanding beaches and walking routes nearby.
If I return to Plakia, I’ll book this hotel again for sure!

We stayed here for two nights. On the positives I should mention the friendly staff (ready to provide useful information), the excellent breakfast, the clean rooms, and the good/central location (near supermarkets, restaurants etc. ). However, the room was rather small with uncomfortable mattress and pillow as well as poor (yet clean) bathroom and a small balcony with some sort of backyard view. What gave us a very bad impression was the misleading advertisement of the hotel. The main photo of the room (appearing in Google, booking etc. ) is a room with direct view to the sea. The hotel has, (if at all), 1-2 rooms with sea view, as they told us, thus finding very misleading to show this as very first thing when advertising/booking a room. Also note that the hotel does not have its own pool (this is written in the website) but again mentioning it here for clarity and expectations. So one should really pay attention what room he/she is booking.

Just barely off the main strip, this hotel was a nice stay for us. So easy to walk down to the strip to find a bite to eat or just go for a stroll through town. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast is included, though we don't actually eat breakfast. If we ever come back to visit Crete, this will be our first option.

Great small, family hotel, convenient located for exploring south Crete, close to shops & restaurants — spent there a week in October. Parking available and free. Rooms small but nice and clean, delicious breakfasts — large selection. Friendly and helpful staff.

Stayed for two weeks and had a great time.
Parking for hotel very short walk away.
Friendly staff and easy check in.
Stayed in room 209, this has a sea view, not a massive room but adequate space for clothing etc, room has air con a small bathroom with adequate shower.
Small but sufficient balcony with view of bay. There is a safe, TV, kettle small fridge in room.
Buffet breakfast with plenty of choice, inside and outside seating for breakfast, room cleaned daily and towels and bed linen changed every 3 days, pool towels available on request.
Supermarket directly across the road for anything you may need.
1 minute walk into town.
If need pool you can use one from another hotel (Costas and chrysoulas) literally 5 mins walk away.
Outside hours emergency contact number available, this was used due to issue with main door being locked and owner was back onsite in 5 minutes to resolve issue.
Our third visit to Plakias and this was by far the most enjoyable, it was that good that rebooked for next year whilst staying there.
Would definitely recommend this hotel we had a wonderful and relaxing time at Sofia Hotel many thanks to all the staff and see you next year, looking forward to much of the same :-)

Wonderful hotel. Great location, very clean rooms, great service and the best breakfast. Stayed four nights and the staff were really friendly helpful, especially Chrisanthi.

Very cool hotel! Staff is very friendly, helpful in every way possible. The hotel and especially our room was very tidy and welcoming.
Breakfast is pretty standard, but has everything you need to not get out of shape (for the beach vacay ;) )
