Aphrodite Hotel

It was a great experience staying at this hotel. The location is very good, as it is quiet and peaceful. The hotel, both the rooms and the common areas were spotless. You could actually smell the cleanliness. The staff were also exceptional. Very kind and welcoming. Lovely pool area. Nice spacious room.

I am here at the moment. The hotel is in a quiet spot with a small pebble beach.
My room is good, the furniture is new, plenty of storage space. Good shower, clean towels everyday, they smell lovely and fresh. The room is kept clean.
Breakfast is ok. A good selection of hot and cold food. You clear your own plates away but it isn’t a problem.
Nice size pool with plenty of sun beds no need to get up early to find one. Enough sun beds around the pool and on the beach, it is very pebbly so beach shoes are a good idea.
The taverna is good. I opted for half board being a solo female traveler. The food is excellent and plenty of choice. Now here is my negative. I feel that as a solo traveler I am not treated very well by the staff. I get the impression that I am an inconvenience. This makes me feel uncomfortable.
The first evening eating there was ok but then it just went downhill.
I went into Molivos for the day. A taxi to the castle is 9 euros. It’s very hilly so not advisable for anyone with walking difficulties. The hotel does not have a courtesy bus.
I can’t fault the hotel. Personally I would not stay here again as it is too isolated for me.

What a find this hotel is. As soon as you enter the reception area you are made welcome. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Lovely clean, well appointed room with fridge and television. Wi-Fi is very good, inside or out.
Lovely pool area with the most comfortable sun loungers ever! Pebbly beach with a handful of sunbeds. Beautiful and peaceful.
Great taverna by the sea serving delicious food and cocktails!
Location is in a quiet rural area on the outskirts of Molyvos, which is recommended for great nights out with beautiful sunsets. Taxi costs 7 euro one way and are plentiful.
This is a gem of a hotel and I shared a very happy holiday with my two lovely friends. Happy times and memories made.

I can see why this hotel has so many repeat guests. Its setting with its own beach… large pool… taverna and beautiful gardens is wonderful. Everything is spotless and the staff so friendly. You are a 7 euro taxi… which are plentiful… ride to Molyvos. Spoilt for choice there with seafront, harbourside and rooftop tavernas to eat in. Plenty of bars dotted in there too not to mention shops. Topped off with a castle.
Another place to visit nearby is petra with its church perched on a rock.
I will definitely be joining the returners group.
Lovely place to make fabulous memories with special people.

What a gem this hotel is, perfect location, wonderful staff and amazing facilities. There are so many fabulous areas to sit according to your needs, full sun, shade, cool spots etc. I loved going on the pebble beach to cool off in the breeze, perfect!
The food in the taverna down by the sea has a great menu and the food was good. Lovely fresh salads and tzatziki in abundance, delicious.
So glad my first trip to Lesvos was at this hotel, it made it a very special holiday with my lovely friends 😊

The hotel grounds and pool are great with plenty of space and sunbeds. The beach is a pebble one and not very big but adequate. Beach shoes a must.
The hotels Taverna is between the pool and beach and serves really good food and drink at reasonable prices. I think this is why they dont run a shuttle bus. So guests stay on site.
Its a 5 min taxi drive into Molivos and costs £7 euros.
The breakfast was one of the best ever with loads of good choice (only thing missing was a decent sausage).
We booked with Jet2 and were in the original hotel block, not the annex. This was not as nice as the newer part and is in need of refurbishment. It appeared European guests were placed there.
Molivos is really nice and we went to eat here 6 or 7 times. Best meals. The Sea Horse, Tropicana, Gatos, and Misirlou the burger place just before the harbour. Best burgers ever.
Try Friends for lunch, all the locals go here for gyros etc.
Also the womens co operative in Petra was fabulous.
We hired a car for 2 days and saw some of the island which was nice.
Its easy to see why this hotel and Molivos have so many returning guests. Some coming year after year.
Everything went as planned so well done Jet 2 as usual.
We will be back.

The resort facilities are lovely but the staff, at best, were taciturn. We are pleasant, undemanding guests but barely got a hello from anyone on staff.
We absolutely loved the location next to the ocean but the STENCH from the toilets permeated the entire room. They really need t deal with this as I’ve seen reviews elsewhere complaining about this absolute horror.

Amazing hotel and staff. Very friendly and accommodating. It is a family run hotel and you feel like at home. Breakfast was excellent with lots of local produce and home made sweets and pies. Dinner at the taverna was superb. The hotel is very clean and organized. It is located very close to the beautiful town of Molyvos. You can walk there and enjoy the scenery. Highly recommend this hotel for all the reasons above and much more.

Well deserved 4 stars for this hotel. Breakfast nice, everyone will find something for themselves. Rooms are nice, bed comfy, Staff very friendly and location is amazing, with private beach and restaurant.
With prices not being over priced. Charming place and we have bene walking a lot, visiting other villages around and location on this hotel seems to be the best. To get to the town it's about 1.5km up and down the hill with stunning views, or get the taxi for €7. Beautiful place to relax.

We were a group of 6 ladies of a certain age. We had a fantastic week at The Aphrodite Hotel. We were half board which was only about £65 more than b&b and it gave us flexibility. We only ate out in Molyvos one night as the food and setting at the hotelto eat our evening meal was lovely. We watched the sunset with a cocktail and then enjoyed a lovely 4 course meal. I am coeliac and I was catered for really well both at breakfast and dinner.
The rooms were great and kept very clean. The staff were so friendly and helpful.
The only criticism I have and why I gave 4 stars not 5 is that the hotel could really do with a shuttle bus into Molivos.
We were in Molivos for the evening after a boat trip and we just couldn't get a taxi back to the hotel. One if our party has mobility issues and there is no way she could have walked back. Several shop and bar owners tried to secure us a taxi but it took about an hour before we got one which made for a stressful end to a lovely evening. A shuttle bus would alleviate this issue.
All in all we had a fabulous week in a beautiful hotel and ai would recommend to anyone who loves a quiet, peaceful holiday as we do.

The hotel is set in a quiet location about 20-30 minutes walk into Molyvos. Great pool with very comfortable sunbeds, grounds spill out to a small rocky beach (no beaches are private in Greece) again with sunbeds — nice touch. The hotel taverna is located by the sea so a stunning position. We only ate there the day we arrived as we found the staff unwelcoming, so much so we felt neglected. Our first beer, we were so looking forward to it being ice cold but we saw our drinks sat on the bar a good 10 minutes before it was brought to us! Now this was around 3pm so not exactly rushed off their feet! The taverna staff really didn’t look happy. We did go once more just to buy an ice cream again man not engaging at all. We eat out in Molyvos all week, many fabulous restaurants and we really didn’t mind the walk. Easier coming back as more downhill. If you are reasonably fit then you work up an appetite on the way in & help you digestion on the way back. We would have eaten there again if we had had a better service — first impressions are so important.
Rooms — we found to be quite dark inside could do with a refurb. The photo on their website & Jet 2 of an airy light panel room must just be one room they’ve had done as a show room. Bathroom good walk in shower but sink tap very annoying needs some maintenance to make it free working.
Breakfast nice selection but nothing labelled. However the whole breakfast experience felt like a canteen.

Negative quickly first — like any other hotel nowadays, if you are a light sleeper you will be kept awake by people scraping tables across floors at 1am and slamming cupboard doors. Why people decide that 1am is the best time to redecorate a hotel room I'll never know — however this isn't the hotel's fault, more attributed to guests.
The hotel itself has its own rocky beach, and the sea is generally calm. It is crystal clear and doesn't get deep for quite a distance and you feel like you have the entire Aegean to yourself. The pool itself has some loose rules but mainly no swimming after the sun goes down. But its a spacious, clean and well maintained pool. Sunbeds are plentiful and the pool area is kept tidy. Breakfast is plentiful and varied, the staff were always kind and friendly (especially the evening bar staff). The Hotel itself is slightly out of the way, its either 30 mins walk on winding roads or a 3/4min taxi ride that costs 7euros to get to the town of Molyvos.
The town of Molyvos itself is a stunning place, with amazing views from loads of restaurants and an awesome castle and docks. Its rustic and cobbled streets have lots of hidden shops and restaurants and it really is quite a place to see.
In summary, overwhelmingly positive, and we would love to go back. Also, and a real surprise, the cakes are wonderful in the hotel and in Molyvos in general!

We enjoyed 4 very pleasant days at the Aphrodite Hotel, Molyvos.
We are 2 very fit 60+s and the hotel was ideal for us. It's a spotlessly clean, charming, family run hotel with wonderfully friendly staff who were helpful and happy to accommodate any requests in a professional and friendly manner. It may lack some of the nternationally recognised 4* services but nothing that bothered us much. We've not been expected to clear our own breakfast table before but it wasn't a problem for us.
The 25 minute, uphill walk to the charming town of Molyvos is not something to consider in the heat of the day. The hotel's well maintained, shady garden is the place to be when it's hot. The beachside taverna serves lovely food at very reasonable, taverna prices. Sitting there with a cocktail watching the sun sink into the sea is the perfect way to round off a beautiful day.
We have just two suggestions:
We understand the rules in Greece about smoking anywhere outside but if you had a dedicated outdoor area for smokers I'm sure many would use it. We found it hard to escape unwanted smoke at breakfast.
A shuttle bus to town would be lovely but we understand the costs involved and it's taking business away from the hotel taverna.

We had an absolutely lovely 10 days at the Aphrodite Hotel. The staff were very friendly and the Suite we stayed in was spacious with a nice balcony. The beach taverna serves lovely Greek food at a very resonable price. We noticed that a llot of guests were returning guests because of lovve of the hotel and staff, We would certanly return.

Our stay at aphrodite hotel was really wonderful. Its a family run business, which scared me a bit while booking our stay, because we also had negative experiences with family run businesses. But at Aphrodite hotel they do a wonderful job. Its also just a lovely family. Everyone working there was actually very lovely. I will for sure miss them and the time we had over there. The room was nice and big with the most awesome views we ever had. The surrounding area is green, lots of nature, mountain views and hills, just perfect. Nice sunsets every evening! I always enjoyed the breakfasts a lot. Yes, we have seen more grotesque buffets at some of those gigantic hotels we visited before. But in the end its the quality that matters, and the quality was good! I also appreciated the laid back atmosphere during breakfast/lunch/dinner. The restaurant at the pool (which has an awesome view) serves really good food. I was more than once suprised! Everything I ordered was just delicious. Good, decent and honest food! The town of Molyvos is nearby, its on walking distance, and as said before, the surroundings are very nice! The town is lovely, with lots of good restaurants, nice shops, cosy streets, a hilltop castle… a perfect holiday! And a big big thank you to the people of Aphrodite Hotel for making this an unforgettable experience!

Superb stay at the Aphrodite and decided to return in 2024 for two weeks rather than 11 nights. Travelled with two boys now 9 and 5 and they loved it too. Yes it's secluded and either an uphill walk (I did it once) into Molyvos or a taxi (6euro e/w). The seclusion makes the hotel for us, never busy, always lots of beds available an no rush with people putting out towels for their favourite spot. The Taverna is great and we used it most days for lunch and the odd evening meal when we had late days by the pool. Rented a car which reception sorted and drove down to Erresos for the day and also used it for a few days at the sandy beach in Petra which was great. The staff are fantastic and the rooms very comfy. Breakfast is excellent. We went to Molyvos most evenings and were surprised how much choice was there as expected just a small handful of places to eat. There's plenty of different restaurants in the Port and up in the old town where the views are spectacular. Also a couple of livelier places if that's your thing. Molyvos has retained its Greek authenticity and we have recommended it to lots of people and can't wait to return.

Just spent week here, wish we'd stayed longer. Second time we've been. All members of staff are friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.
