Better than average Greek rooms, they’ve obviously thought about how to entice British guests. Friendly staff, good value bar, top proper English breakfast with BROWN SAUCE!

Just returned from 2 week stay here. A perfect stay with friendly and polite people from owners and all staff. The perfect place to chill. Beach on hand a short walk away and shops, bars and restaurants … food at Avra excellent for snacks. Can’t wait for my next visit. Highly recommend.

A lovely hotel, in a great position, and friendly staff.

Basic Greek accommodation Vicky the owner very freindly atmosphere great. Rooms clean and tidy my room had great views over the mountains. English breakfast was good for 5€.

What to say? Not what we expect even from a cheep Greek hotel. Tiny dark not up to self catering standard, friendly owners but needs a good upgrade everywhere. Sorry but I have to be honest.

The only thing that put us off was the shower having no shower curtain. Other wise pool, bar and location was amazing. Staff were very helpful. I would recommend the ice creams and cold cabinet of beer. Also pool was never too busy and nice and deep for kids and adults to jump in and play! The pool shape was really good too, so there were quiet areas to relax if needed away from kids pool games. Ten minutes walk to beach is really worth it as beach bars and restaurants with sun lounges with umbrellas are the place to be with golden sands. I can recommend a seaview breakfast each morning to start your day as the best!

Staying at the avra as I write this. Thr apartment is basic but cleaners are in every day. Those who complain should realise that if you want 5 star you have to pay 5 star. The family running tha avra are charming and very friendly. Loving it.

Great if you like excrement in the pool and owner can't be bothered to clean pool wouldn't sent prisoners there to stay.

Fun friendly place, basic apartments with aircon as an optional extra. All staff friendly and always willing to help. Rooms cleaned daily.

I would definitely stay here again at avra studio's if I got the holiday for the same price I paid this time absolute bargain, yes the rooms are very basic but everything else is fine… ie pool and bar and take advantage of the half priced cocktails 6 til 9 great stuff, I was pleasantly surprised because I didn't expect much, if you think of it as a base to get your head down you can't go wrong.

Good quality rooms and serviced regularly. Food and drinks, pricey around the pool, but think thats the same for most places. 10min walk to the beach and crossroads of Alykes.

We're here at the moment. This is our 3rd visit and already booked to come back again in September. We feel the Avra has everything we need, location, facilities, pool and a beautiful view. A great place for a relaxing holiday.

Clean and comfortable. Friendly service from all the staff would stay here again.

Great holiday nice clean place lovely family.

NIGHTMARE on elm street Shower flooded and smells Plus no water came out of shower as some one else had the water as on Emersion heater Bus transfer 2 hours not 35 mins. Got to hotel at midnight staff said every where shut for food in town found out it was not the next day Then they wanted €42 euros for aircon. Tried to get air con working but no power to unit until 5 am. Still no aircon Dog barking next door until 2 am then cockerels start at 5 am. Spent one horrible night here out of seven learned my lesson with cheap deals.

Dogs barking all night, a lot of mosquitoes to deal with. Would I go back to the same apartments the answer is NO.

Avra studios is a great self catering holiday.
While the apartments are basic as all self catering places are avra is cleaner than alot of higher star places I have stayed. The cleaners are there daily and do an excellent job.
The staff are very friendly and acomadating if there is anything you need they are more than happy to help making you feel very welcome.
As avra is a family run business by Vicki and her daughter anatasia the atmosphere is very good making ur stay a very comfortable one.
The grounds are very pretty and the pool is great (not overlooked by coaches travelling in and out of zacinthos like most I saw) good size pool with separate baby pool.
Plenty of sunbeds with a bar for drinks and selection of hot and cold food served all day very handy if you want to stay by the pool all day. Avra is a short walk to the beech and the main strip of shops bout 5-10 min walk
This year will be my 3rd time staying at avra and intend to return every year the people are so friendly and on such a beautiful island it makes a perfect holiday.

Family of 4 stay mid July in the adjoining annex to the main building. We stayed in the attic room with a fab wrap around balcony. Room OK for 4 but with small kitchen not suited for cooking. Who does in Greece when the local restaurants are so good? Pool bar serves food and drink but we never ate here other than snacks. Location great, 10min walk to the main strip and beach. Would recommend.

We got everything that we asked for. Basic but what you needed was there, pool, sunloungers, bar, food, bed, shower, kettle. If your needing something else ask for it, it's not hard. The rooms are cleaned daily and is a 5 minute stroll from the beach and a variety of night life depending on what you want.

It was lovely and quiet. Great views of both the mountains and the sea. Rooms were cleaned daily and the swimming pool was nice. Plenty of loungers and umbrellas. No fighting with other guests for poolside space. They leave inflatables out for you to use so no need to waste money buying those. Owners and staff were really friendly and approachable. This was self catering but not really enough cutlery (no bread knife) and no cleaning equipment. The shower was probably the only thing that really let it down as it was not fixed to a wall so you gad to mess about holding the shower head and the water went everywhere.

The rooms are clean and tidy but a bit dated. Value for money a little short on sunbeds all in all a nice place to stay.

Comfortable family run hotel, they do work some long hours and make you feel welcome. Good nights sleep, doors have shutters to let air in and keep the mosquitos out, not that even in July we saw many. Avra is not near any noisy bars or has loud entertainment, big pool and nice children's pool. Reasonably priced bar. Many sun loungers about 50, double lock safety box's in a locked office. Don't be put off that it's 15 mins to the beach 20ish if you walk slow, it's a nice walk and has shade, and gives you the opertunity to get everything you need on the way at the reasonably priced shops and bakery, or a meal as most of the restaurants are near the beach. The salt flats are nearby that's a nice walk around. Staying here gives you access to all this.

Just returned home after a wonderful week at Avra, couldn't fault it. Would definitely recommend.

Clean & friendly. Casual stroll into town of Alykes. Avra bar does plenty of food/ snacks at reasonable price. An excellent, quiet location.

Friendly staff but even for the cheapness it's got a few major issues. I kitchen socket hanging off the wall. If you want to use the kitchen you pretty much need everything except pots and pans. Old, loud fridge. One plug socket in main room that takes 3 people. No shower curtain so floor always gets soaked. Like I said, I got a great deal so not particularly annoyed but wouldn't be happy if I paid full price. Not a bad place my any means but not a good place either.
