Nice clean hotel. Comfortable beds. Incredible staff!

We have been to this beautiful island several times, this time we were unlucky and chose Hotel Macedon due to the good reviews. We were accommodated in a small, dark room right on the street, with the hint that we should not unpack our belongings, as we should move to a better room the next day. Touted by the owner's mother, this room turned out to be even more unattractive and darker with a through balcony facing the pool. After announcing a bad rating, we were allowed to stay in our small, dark domicile. We didn't feel comfortable all around during our holiday. Even the breakfast by the pool under a sledging with plastic tarpaulins did not meet the expectations of the previous, very positive reviews. Only the freshly squeezed juice is positive to mention. The selection was very clear. The audience consists mostly of Bulgarian and Romanian holidaymakers. The wet cells do not form a separate room, but are only separated from the bedroom by a coloured glass wall and thus do not allow any privacy.

Beautiful Hotel, very clean, tasty home made food, friendly personal and perfect owners.

Had a wonderful short break, very clean, lovely breakfast, air con, Lena was so helpful, nothing was to much trouble, would definitely stay there again.

I went to Thasos with 2 of my girlfriends for the weekend and we stayed at this hotel. Although the hotel is just 5 minutes walk from the ferry, we were kindly picked up by the Proprietor, Lena's son. Lena is such a wonderful hostess and made us so welcome and comfortable. Breakfast was freshly made with fresh vegetables. She went the extra mile to take care of all our needs. She's such a lovely and friendly lady. She recommended great places to dine and explore. The rooms are so modern, beautiful and clean with balconies. Rooms have a fridge, kettle and teacups. I will definitely go back there with my family and more friends.

Hotel Macedon is a great place to stay, especially in summer. The rooms are very comfortable, elegant and clean. There is great service and the people are kind. The breakfast — which is next to the pool, a beautiful thing to see — is very nice and tasty. Hotel Macedon is a really, really nice place to stay.

A very good managed family hotel. I stayed many hotels, but this hotel remarkabley different from others. The rooms are exactly like in the photos, very clean, nice modernized and it smells very nice when you enter the room hotel. The swimming pool is very nice and big and the relaxing area inside the garden is very interesting. The breakfast is ok and the pies that they offer are awesome. You have to try at least once to visit Macedon Hotel. Good job!

Perfect place for a vacantion.

The location is just perfect, very friendly people, specially Makis, beautiful rooms and clean. For shore we will come back. I truly recommend this hotel to everyone.

Me and my boyfriend stayed at Hotel Macedon in July 2015. The hotels saying 'you come as a guest and leave as a friend' is definitely true! The hotel itself is stunning — all newly renovated rooms, clean and modern with a great sized balcony! The pool, always clean and welcoming and the staff were so friendly! Breakfast in the mornings are delicious, we miss the homemade jams and honey and can't wait to come back again! Thank you to all the staff for making our stay so welcoming! :D we will be back!

This hotel has been recommended by some friends and now, after staying 7 days there, I have to thank them. First off, don't believe it when it says 3 stars. It's more like a 5 star hotel thanks to some recent renovations, even though the outside is close to a 4 star. Anyway, the rooms were excellent, the variety of food at every breakfast was great, the pool was for every age (1 meter up to 3 meters) and could sustain up to about 15 people, very friendly managers and employees who are open to discussion almost anytime and a beautiful garden for lovers of nature. I totally recommend this place and I'm almost sure I'll book at least one week next year.

It's a lovely place to stay in the town. Personnel is very pleasant. You may find that a room isn't in excellent condition, but it's worth 3* rating.
