Just stayed here with my mum for 1 week. The hotel is out of the way of the hustle and bustle of resorts but had a few good shops within 10 minute walk and some proper Greek tavernas. 5 minute walk to the bus stop which can get you anywhere along the North Coast. I would recommend hiring a car to explore more areas though.
The hotel itself is lovely. The rooms are cleaned daily and are spotless thanks to the amazing housekeeper Barta. Kitchenette has all the basics and the bathrooms are a good size. Only down side is the water pressure. The beds are really comfy too and although they say double, they are actually king size. The pool and pool area is always clean and refreshing after a hot day with a snack bar on site and a good selection of food and drinks. The breakfast is amazing, a mixture of fruit, bread, ham, cheese and pastries and delivered to your room at whatever time you request.
We only really had interactions with the owner Soula and staff member Tina who went above and beyond to make sure our holiday was amazing. The other staff were very friendly too. Tina was able to recommend places to visit, sort a hire car for us to be delivered to the hotel and was there for our every need. Soula even stayed around and kept reception open while we waited for our transfer on the last day and presented us with a huge plate of watermelon for free. 2 of the most honest, warm hearted people I have ever met and made us feel like family rather than hotel guests.
If you want a tranquil hotel, in a local/rural type setting, then this is the place for you.
The hotel is far removed from the hustle and bustle of Platanias and far enough away from Tavronitis that you could be in the middle of nowhere.
We were lucky enough to be able to see the sunset and sunrise from our apartment, and a clear view of the sea and mountains. With the early morning cockerel it was hard to believe we weren't in the countryside.
The pool is in and out if the sun at different times of the day. Late afternoon is best. It's very quiet so you can have it to yourself. You can order drinks, snacks and ice cream.
There's a local beach with clear water (blue flag) but unless you're used to rocks bring water shoes (plus there's sea urchins). If you want sand the closet is about 20 minutes by car.
The breakfast comes to your room and you can vary the time if needed, especially handy if you have and early start. As the room has a fridge we saved some for our travels, which you'll do plenty of as it's conveniently located. Plus there's free parking and a bus stop nearby too.
We were four to a room and managed with the bathroom. It comes with shower gel and hand soap so you don't need to bring them. Towels and bed linen are changed every three days and the room is tidied everyday. You can leave your luggage if you have a late flight and make use of the pool.
Tina and all the staff are lovely. If you need anything please just ask.
