We stayed 14-8-25 to 23-8-25. Family of 4 had an amazing time at the Villa throughout.
Upon arrival we had pre-ordered some groceries and the hosts had also left us some complimentary items. The villa is really well equipped and modern with air con in both bedrooms and 2 x modern bathrooms.
The outdoor setting is lovely (we were outside if we weren't sleeping the whole time).
The location is very peaceful, at least 100m from the next villa and high up on the hillside from the village.
Whilst we were there we noticed quite a few hornets around the pool in the day time, and unfortunately these prevented us from eating outdoors as they were attracted to most of the food we prepared.
The village is a peaceful Greek village with a few tavernas and restaurants. We went down to the village once to eat but we didn't love the vibe and opted not to return.
The village shuts its main road through the centre between 7pm and midnight everyday in the summer which was the biggest issue for us. As we were driving out to Rethymno or beyond each evening we would have to bypass the village using the back roads, or eventually we discovered a detour of around 2-3km into the surrounding countryside. The backroads are the narrowest roads I have ever driven on, and if you are not local you will quickly get lost. This happened to us twice and nearly ended in divorce! The detour is preferable but don't expect any street lighting or signage (must have internet and navigation system).
We loved every minute of our stay last week. The villa was perfect and the owners even gave us a gift when we left. We will make sure to come back!
