We absolutely loved our stay at Amazones. The staff were so lovely and welcoming to our family of five. The pool was lovely (should have gotten up earlier for sunbeds though!

Fantastic stay at Amazones. The staff are all fantastic. Really gutted we have booked somewhere else for next year before staying here. But will most definitely be booking here for the year after. The staff where especially good with our toddler. Thanks for a wonderful stay. We will come and visit for lunch next year.

Big rooms, well equipped and amazing views. Such a shame the covid 19 has had a negative effect. Very high up with lots of steps, not for people with mobility problems. Staff are amazing, nothing is to much trouble. Made to feel like part of the family from day one and didn't really want to leave.

Location is spot on. Peaceful and little villages close enough to walk to with shops and restaurants. Harbour is a short but hilly walk down but can also get a cab for a Few Euros. We normally walk down and taxi back. Team were so helpful, nothing was to much trouble. Advice on good restaurants, areas, local taxis and buses etc. Views are gorgeous. Saw my first sunrise at The age of 46 here! Stunning would def recommend and hope to be back soon.

We have just stayed at Amazones Village Hotel and we had a wonderful, relaxing holiday. The suites are much bigger than I had imagined, with lots of space to move around and store cases etc. Our rooms had everything we needed, and when we asked for a few extra hangers etc they were delivered within minutes. On arrival our suite was spotless and throughout our two week stay the rooms were cleaned daily except for Sundays. The bar area over looks the pool and serves everything you could want, including Nikos nipping off into the gardens to cut fresh herbs for his fab cocktails. We had delicious food from both the al a carte menu and the evening set menus. Very good value for money too, especially the evening set menu. The pool is wonderful, clear and inviting and again bigger than imagined. The decking area around the pool is excellent, very spacious with many good sunbeds, parasols and wicker style seating. And now the view. The best view in Piskopiano! From the bar area and pool (and some suites) you can see for miles and miles, as you gaze out over the rooftops and olive trees to the bay and beautiful blue sea. Finally, the people and service. Fabulous! Nothing is too much trouble and every thing is carried out or answered, (in excellent English) with smiles and a friendly manner. I could not speak more highly of the service we have received during our whole stay. Thank you Amazones Hotel, we hope to return to see you again soon.

Poor service and rough lack of attention from the staff. Not to mention the half board … buffet without choice (one type of meat and 1 vegetable) and absolutely not suitable for children. For meals we were set up in the lobby of the hotel. … One small pool (graziosa). The only positive note is the panoramic view.

If u r young u will love this place. The staff are fantastic as is the communal area. Cool bar and pool. But the room although huge, is creepy, old and smelly. The locks are dodgy and I didnt feel safe. BEWARE, the 24 hour reception was not manned and we couldn't contact anyone.

Very nice nice hotel apartments, friendly Administration, and spacious rooms. I only wish the pool at the end of April is not warm, cold.

This is a very tidy, attractive complex over-looking the sea which us around a mile away. Our suite was generous in size and very simple but clean and cleaned very well daily. The staff are helpful and friendly. The pool clean and refreshing — read cold Simple Greek food was served and was very tasty. Or you can opt for the usual pizzas and burgers. The village has lots of good restaurants as do the two villages either side both an easy walk. We had a really pleasant relaxing holiday.

This is a great place and we had a lovely family holiday here. All the staff were great! They were super helpful, worked with dietary restrictions, helped us get taxis and plan trips, and made our stay very pleasant. Nikita, Nikos, and George were particularly helpful in welcoming us and taking care of our needs. Our rooms were lovely (each had an air conditioner which made sleeping pleasant), clean, and well-furnished and the facilities are pleasant and welcoming. The grounds are lovely and all the plants and trees are very well managed, my favorite was the grape vines growing on some of the terraces of the rooms we were in. Our group went for the half board option since we had grandparents along and having dinner at the hotel each day was most convenient for them. If I was to visit again, I would go for just bed and breakfast, since there are lots of nice restaurants nearby and trying out various types of delicious Greek food for lunch was great and doing so at dinner to get more options would have been nice, and you can always opt to let the staff know and eat dinner at the hotel if you want. We had a lovely time here and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to visit Crete!

For years, we travel to Greece but, a stunning hotel Amazones Village Suites Piskopiano as to the island of Crete, we had not yet found. Great location, excellent service, daily cleaning and change of towels and sheets but especially the owners. Hard to find traveling people so friendly and helpful. Thanks to their kindness, we spent 10 unforgettable days in this wonderful island.

Amazones Village Suites … piteously shabby …
Pitifully shabby, fake reviews of some characters of dubious origin in which evidently compared with little and meager pay, write about everything … (surely relatives, friends and friends of friends …)
Well, we have had the misfortune to see run cockroaches in our room, to happen to crash the malodorous "kitchens" in the basement (attention to the elevator that creaks and squeaks).
In Italy, it would have already been closed, but who knows … even in Greece, poor and neglected, some places find the right match.
Meditate gente, meditate …

I stayed at this hotel along with my family. The reception is great, the owners are helpful and friendly. The structure is nice, with these "Studio" in the shape of a typical Greek house. There is also a pool, very nice and clean every morning with the robot. Very clean and tidy in general… Breakfast, with homemade stuff, is their strong point: abundant and varied, both sweet and savory, depending on your needs. The last day we ate them in the hotel and everything was great with fresh produce from their garden (behind the structure). I would go back!

George greeted us with her beautiful smile and started our small care during the entire stay! He has not missed an opportunity to taste little things prepared by his mother (it was the Orthodox Easter). The rooms are fantastic, clean, the place is remarkably calm (with a nice, clean and well equipped pool). This is "the place to be" If you want to combine, at the same time, the pleasure of Piskopiano, the quiet, the beach… and be pampered like a member of the family!

The rooms are nice and spacious, the staff are very nice and welcoming, the breakfast served with sea view is rich, and is served with great kindness and attention. We would also recommend the excellent dinner based on typical Greek dishes. The setting is very quiet and relaxing, and the staff cares to keep it that way.

Even taking a shower was quite an experience due to the enormous quantity of water leaking on the floor. After three days of the 7 booked, we were finally granted the sea view room at Amazones Village. This time the shower had a cubicle, but the water still leaking and no mop to dry it. Some towels had holes and in general were old and worn-out. Changed only once in 4 days. Same with sheets. This is not definitely the service of a 4 star hotel. Breakfast just ordinary: not fresh fruit and some products which were really cheap…We tried lunch…you have to be aware that is not cooked there. It comes from a take away downtown – Tzaziki is the name…Dinners comes in boxes too. Just warmed up before being served…

Like another reviewer we spent the first 3 days in the run down hostel called the Amazones Sun Studios. We were taken there having arrived at 3.30 am in the morning and there was no reception available to sort it out. Our accomodation voucher clearly stated Amazones Village Apartments. I couldn't sleep at all and at 7am saw the manager. She claimed that our booking had been "rejected" as they were full and that I had travelled "under my own risk". That was ludicrous as no-one had informed me. The hostel was dreadful, shabby and with a lovely view of an empty swimming pool and a car park. Also young people sharing coming in at 4/5/6 am waking us up. So the first 3 days of our 10 day holiday were spent there whilst I had to deal with the manager moving us. If you want to know what the manager is like just read her replies to some of the criticisms made on Trip Advisor. We were moved on day 4 and the apartment was lovely but we should have had this room right from the start. Evening meal was good though only 2 choices. Breakfast is a buffet with limited choice — after a few days it gets really boring and no attempt to liven it up with the odd pastry, probably as its too expensive. This is not what I would expect from a 4 star. Lovely location though, great pool and lovely rooms, if you are lucky enough to have your booking honoured. To quote the manager, you travel under your own risk!

Please don't waste your money on this hotel. We have just come back from this hotel which I may add we only stayed 5 nights (by the way, thanks to the enthusiastic reviewers…). The bathroom was terrible: it was rusty and I would not put my dog in let alone my child! My older son went in the pool only to be told to be quiet when talking to myself which I was fuming. We waited half an hour at reception before we were greeted by anyone (siesta time? ). Be prepared to get some unpleasant stares from the manager if you try to make your point. And some impolite attitude as well…

Beautiful place. Lovely and kind personel. Doing their best to make guests feel comfortable. The food is very good and tasty. A very clean and estethic place. I highly recommend to spend holidays there.

A big let down. Spent a week at Amazones Village Suites and unfortunately the weather was not that clement. Would love to just write that this was the only negative but sadly not. On arrival there was a lady at the reception who was there complaining about something wrong with the swimming pool and had us waiting for more than 15 minutes to check in. She kept this dark mood during our all stay. The apartments were tired looking and the beds hard and uncomfortable. The cleaner did come round randomly and towels and sheets were replaced only once. Downside also was the steep hill which included the trek back from Hersonissos it really would not suit older people or young children, it was hard going when we went but in the height of summer it must be doubly as hard. The food was horrible. Nothing you should expect in Greece. Nothing compared to the lovely and cheap tavernas in Piskopiano.

Obscene!
I paid a blunder, expecting the quality of a 4 star hotel of which they boast. The room was obscene and explained that you have applied for an upgrade. Air conditioning (promise in all descriptions of the hotel) you had to pay for it separately. There were ants everywhere and the tub in the bathroom was offset from the wall so the bathroom is flooded with every shower. The mattresses were covered in a bad way from a blanket too short who regularly found out the mattress. And blankets do not want to imagine how long have not washed. The phone in the room did not work … I don't even want to imagine what happens if something happens. Catherine, the proprietor, grumpy and impatient we were never heard, so much so that in the end we stopped complaining of things clearly to be put in place. If it were possible to convey the dire food we were administered with a picture, we would have done a lot.

Ouch. Where are the good reviews coming from? We arrived midday after a long flight and a longer drive and unpleasantly had some issues with our reservation (confirmed by TravelRepublic). Forced to spend two days at Frida Apartments a few minutes walk, as alternative, we were finally readmitted to Amazones. The alternative accommodation was not a 4 star, as expected. To be completely fair, Amazones is not a 4 star hotel, either, according to our experience. Rooms are somewhat old style and need some good revamp. Beds were not comfortable at all, with pillows that definitely have to be replaced. We had some issues with water leaking from shower cabin. Not nice. Food was not what we expected: breakfast definitely very basic and void of fresh fruits that are quite common in Crete. Dinner: well, definitely not Cretan cuisine as we compared with Kostas in Piskopiano and many other tavernas we found on the road. Wi-Fi was not working properly and despite many describe a wonderful view from the pool, we have seen better scenarios. All things considered, an overall disappointing experience that we would have gladly spared.

Terrible start. The rest even worse. Terrible start: booked room at Expedia not available, had to spend a night different hotel (sort of hostel called Amazones Sun Studio). Had to be back to dinner and breakfast. Both really meagre. Can’t understand why they played the Amazones Village Suites/Amazones Sun Studios “story”. Both places are awful anyway. At Amazones Village Suites we had to await pass midday for our room to be available: no telephone for room service. One air conditioning for two rooms and no privacy: we had to live room doors open. Staff very unfriendly as the manager Katrina. They are not up to the job. Apart from that, weather really nice. Won’t return and don’t recommend.

We arrivatiinquesto hotel via the internet with an incredible deal. Upon arrival they probably flew warmly offering us breakfast even though the first day wasn't included end even a bottle of water to freshen up since despite October there were about 30 degrees. The apartment was basic but clean, curator in the small garden in front (calculated we paid euro 90 x 2 for a week! ) The kitchen was poorly supplied do cooking facilities but neo towns vicinity was plan do eateries where is pet friendly. Quin the why Cook!
The cleaning was done every day.
Breakfast was Rich do local products such as tomatoes, olives, feta and a yogurt yummy and then ' cereal, milk, coffee, tea, cheese, ham, fresh bread and yummy cakes! I let to left other reviews Italians and I must say it looks even more hotel but she read those in English you will see that almost all of them are great. And ' situation tea the other in a wonderful location with sea views below and a wonderful sunrise. I'll country where it is located, it's so cute and so koloutofari rich in characteristic bars and restaurants where you eat well; There are also shops of souvenirs and small market for your small needs.
It is a ten minute walk from Hersonissos soul along beautiful sea. (20 minutes to return because it's the hills. )
Listen to me and go there if you are considering traveling to Crete.

Really liked Amazones when we came early in the season so we came back again. No issues with the good sized clean room with nice balcony and view. Breakfast on the terrace was divine. Pool was super. Sha and Maria couldnt help us enough and Catarina too on the couple of times I asked for help. Location really good about 5 minutes down to the village strip and the restaurants/shops, maybe 30 mins down to Hersonissos. Hoping to go again next season. Don't know what this overbooking issue is all about — we booked with Jet2 both times and no problems. Stayed September 2014, traveled as a couple.

To not recommend Overcrowding, with the System

This Hotel is not recommended. Also it has caught us in a systematic Overcrowding. We were put in a worst hostel (Amazones Sun Studio). We got three different versions, doesn't serve, why we can in the room. According to other reviews apparently not for the first Time, but rather the rule. The Hotel Manager, Caterina G. Psarris, is rude and brash. For each defect we have mentioned, we got as an answer: If you don't like it here, then you can leave. We don't need any guests who do not want to be here. Le séjour a été parfait! Caterina, the Manager, has been so sweetly helping in everything. We felt like home. We definitely will be back next year. Alexander and Jenny.

Amazones village suites is what we had expected. You feel at home from the first minute. Friendly staff, always willing to help. Breakfast was a buffet with a variety of fresh food for all tastes and ages. We have tried the gyros PITA for a snack and it was one of the best! Fantastic view of the hotel was a bonus. Many tavernas nearby for more gourmet adventure! The rooms are spacious. Rooms are cleaned daily and it was not a problem, you could have the "No. Disturb" sign. Great atmosphere in the bar in the evening with Caroline at her best! Drinks at reasonable prices and they were original! Nothing but the best! When we come back, that we this hotel certainly would recover, because we know that second time will only get better! A small note: Please, put more sunbeds around the pool, because no one is willing, to get too far from this heavenly place on Earth is.

We felt at home from the first minute we were in this hotel. Nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed every minute of our holiday. Breakfast buffet was more than what we have asked with a variety of snacks around the clock to provide, so that we were not too fantastic views, spend the evening at bar with Caroline was a fun time! The prices are reasonable, compared to the quality of the service we were original received drinks! Room service and cleaning was ready every day staff to help. We have tried the Pandey Gyros and we recommend it to anyone.
