Almyrida Sands

Cecile’s and Jean-Pierre’s holiday flats have not only been styled in an appealing way they are also equipped for couples and families to spend a relaxed time together. Kitchens are super equipped, towels changed every other day, both owners are around almost daily to look after you. They walk the extra mile to make your stay enjoyable and meet your needs. We loved our stay at Almyrida Sands.
The garden is manicured and offers a longe area.

This is one of the best places we have been so far. Yannis and Cecile are all over to create an oasis. We stayed for eight nights in Omega. Everything is like described and looks even better then on the pictures. Super duper clean and stylish. Beach is only few minutes away and almyrida is perfect for a vacation with children. There was nothing the hosts didnt do to maintain a clean and great place to stay. Parking is available on the lot and you get greeted with some bread and home made jam. We will definitely come back and can only say: if you are planning to visit almyrida or the area this is a super good option to stay and I bet you will come back!

As a multi generational family, we stayed for two weeks in Epsilon and Omega. It was superb. Yannis and Cecile were wonderful hosts and the accommodation was perfect — beautifully furnished, comfortable, clean. It was a 5 minute walk to the lovely sandy beach, shops, supermarkets and great tavernas. The extra touches of complimentary bread, oranges, homemade jam, toys for the children were much appreciated. We had a brilliant holiday and would recommend both the Almyrida Sands and Almyrida as a place to go for a family holiday.

Super accomodation in a great location. A very short walk from wonderful Almyrida beach with spectacular views of the snow capped white mountains as well as the sea. Immaculate accomodation, with wrap around balcony, beautifully maintained and to a very high spec. Wonderful host (Yannis) who was very attentive, kind and welcoming — he could not have done more for us. Many thanks for a wonderful stay as well as that homemade marmalade and fresh bread! We look forward to returning.

Great location — great apartment and great Hosts. Spotlessly clean, contemporary with the added bonus of glass shower doors! A selection of artisan breads left at our door was a lovely touch on the morning of our first day. Clearly the most luxurious accommodation during our stay this year. No hesitation in recommending for a stay of any duration.

We had a wonderful time with our family. The apartment is superb, very clean and very well equipped. We had a lovely balcony where we could enjoy the view. Yannis and Cecile are fantastic hosts, they made sure our stay was the most enjoyable as possible. We even received tasty pastries and homemade jam on the first day. If it was possible, we would give 10 stars 🙌!
We are definitely coming back next year.

We have just returned from a most enjoyable week in Almyrida Sands apartments. We stayed in the Delta apartment which has two balconies, giving lovely views over the village, beach and mountains. Having breakfast on the balcony made it extra special. The apartment was in excellent condition throughout, covering our every needs. Yannis and Cecille, the owners, were fantastic hosts, so helpful with everything, changing our towels 3 times in the week and providing us with tasty breads and homemade jam on our arrival. The gardens were beautifully maintained with areas that we could relax in. We look forward to returning in the near future.

This was our second year staying here and again, we loved our time. When we first arrived, we felt like we had come back home. We chose Epsilon this time, a larger apartment than before. As we had my parents with us and also a toddler, the extra space, especially the spacious balcony, was truly appreciated. Yannis and Cecile, once again, were beautiful hosts who took extremely good care of us. From regular linen and towel changes, to bakery surprises, to providing us with jams for our journey home, they could not have done anything better. I have a feeling we will return next year too!

This was a beautiful stay in Crete, the hosts were friendly, considerate and kept the stay in immaculate condition. Would definitely return without a hesitation. They even hand make their olive oil which is to die for, wonderful stay.

We stayed in Epsilon villa and it was amazing, the villa and the garden are very nicely and thoughtfully designed and clean. The location is perfect, close to the beach and the restaurants.
Yannis and Cecile are amazing hosts, they really think of everything and are ready to help. We were there with a small child and they even brought a huge box of lovely toys for him. There is also a little Library next to the reception where you can borrow everything from books to beach toys, parasols, you name it.
We hope to come back one day, and highly recommend this place to everyone.

The place is outstanding — the garden is so beautiful and Yannis tidies up any fallen leaves each morning. It's very quiet, you can enjoy a glass of beer in the evening and admire the flowers.
Location is 3 mins walk to the beach and the promenade with some great restaurants.
The place itself is very well equipped — from aircons, to appliances in the kitchen. You can see lots of hand-made ornaments that really add character to the place. Very clean and tidy.
We stayed there 3 weeks — 2 weeks to work, 1 week holiday. We've been very worried if the quality of the internet will be sufficient for zoom calls and so on. What the owners did is that they have separate lines for each property (which likely costs them a lot of money! ) but the internet is reliable and we had no issues with the remote work. So if somebody wants to work from the there and is worried about the internet — don't be you will be fine!
Yannis, dear friend, you made our stay truly memorable — stopping by to chat to us every morning, bringing us fresh oranges/lemons from the garden, fresh bread to our door from Kalyves. We sincerely thank you and we really appreciate it.

My husband and I just returned from almyrida sands this week. We spent 8 days in Omega apartment with its cute little garden and outdoor dining space. Small but perfectly formed, the clean white minimalist styling of the apartments is enhanced by wooden floors and furniture. Omega was great for us as we had two bedrooms to spread out into. Super lovely pillows and bedding. Very comfy luxe beds, hot (! ) beautiful shower/bathroom and heating that really warmed us over a few unseasonably chilly days. Perfectly maintained inside and out. Crisp and fresh. Generous and lovely hosts. Little extras that felt personal and kind. We were exploring the area around almyrida, inland and along the coast. It was so easy to do so from here, yet the little seaside strip of almyrida with shops and seafront restaurants was a 5 minute stroll away offering all you need for a sweet little beachside Cretan holiday. Chania and Rethymno both lovely, and only around half an hour away by car. Thank you yannis and Cecile. We will return soon. 😘

Amazing villa, new rebuild, beautiful garden, you will find everything you need in this place (wash machine, toys for kids, etc. ). And owners is very friendly.

Probably one of the best places to stay in Crete. The hosts were very polite and made our stay a heaven. They also did a gorgeous job restoring the villa, keeping the cretan vibe alive with a touch of french refinement. Loved the marble tops, fabrics and the stylish wooden pieces. I highly appreciated the attention to details like quality ceramics and silverware. The location it's great, it's slightly above the sea level which offers you a nice view to the sunset, the sea and the mountains. Also, it's very close the the beach area, restaurants and markets. I highly recommend and it's a must stay when visiting Almyrida. Thank you again!

We stayed in August in the villa located in the charming authentic village of Xirosterni (no tourists here, only locals;-) ), on the heights of the small seaside resort of Almyrida.
The house, less than a 10-minute drive from the sea, is beautiful and quiet.
It is easy to radiate throughout northern Crete (Canaa, the beaches of Balos and Falassarna, the samaria gorge and the hinterland, Réthymnon also …), alternating with lazy days at the Pool of the Villa or on the close family beaches of Almyrida and Kalives, or the discovery of the local life of the pretty nearby villages Kefala or Gavalochori.
Not to mention the kindness, the little touches (jams, breakfasts, olive oil, …) and the advice of the owners Yannis and Cécile. We'll be back!
