The staff (especially Harry and Despina-i guess they don’t have last names) were very rude, ironic and unprofessional. We stayed only for one night and they managed to make it unbearable with their behavior. We would have left, but we had already paid for the president suite, which, to make matters worse, was too expensive to get this kind of behavior from the staff. There are many hotels around the area that provide the same (or even better) services amd rooms and thus I would NEVER suggest Theoxenia! Thank you Harry and Despina for this bad experience. You can find my comment also in booking!

We had a very bad experience in this hotel where we decided to stay for 1 night before taking the ferry. First of all, this is absolutely not a 5* hotel but more a standard 3* hotel. The hotel hasn’t been refurbished for a long time, that is for sure. The room with carpet and old fourniture seems to be from another age. Could be interesting for time travel lovers tho. Back in the 80’s! We also had a terrible experience with the AC system. In the middle of the night, a strong noise (like an alarm) wakes us up for 10 mins. And back again every hour of the night. It was actually the AC system, which should be more than old with bad maintenance. We couldn’t sleep during this night and hopefully, the hotel decided to transfer us to another room after several of my complaints. But the harm was already done. In the morning, we were obviously exhosted and we asked for a discount for this night. Refused! What a shame! We won’t come back that is for sure!

The hotel overall is cute, the property is kept well and clean, personally I would take off the ubiquitous carpet. We used the included breakfast formula. At the morning buffet you will find a lot of food, from sweet to salty. I would recommend it for short stays.

This hotel claims to be a 5-star hotel but is in reality a 2-star hotel at best. Located in Piraeus, which is a 50-70€ taxi ride from the Athens International Airport, Theoxenia is very old and has clearly seen better days. Our room had at least one very healthy fly, the closet doors were stained yellow, wallpaper throughout the room was peeling, and you could feel every spring in the bed. I do have to say the hotel staff were very nice. The two people we interacted with at the front desk were helpful and friendly. They were the only positive part of our experience at Theoxenia. We only stayed one night. Had we been planning to stay longer, we absolutely would have cut our reservation short and stayed elsewhere. We also stayed at the Andromeda Suites in Downtown Athens and at the Hotel Palmyra Beach in Glyfada, both of which were far superior to the Theoxenia. We were lucky because they gave us no more than a great suite. Great breakfast and good restaurant attached. Very friendly staff. Great prices. Unfortunately, the pireus is a chaotic, dirty, degraded place. Visit the Small archeological museum a few hundred metres from the metro. Fantastic bronze statues.

Not such warm hospitality as expected at such a tourist place except front desk team who was quite warm welcoming.

Lovely hotel, beautiful spacious rooms with high quality furniture. We were very happy for staying in this hotel for 7 days to visit Athens. As didn’t want to stay in the busy old town, so booked this hotel. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Car parked on the street of front hotel had was no problem at all. It’s safer parking in this area than parking in Athens city centre. As our rented car window was broken by thief in Athens. Will definitely stay here again when come back to Athens.

High price, low services. Rooms are pretty old and not so clean. I think I will choose another accommodation next time.

I would stay here again. It was well kept, clean and pretty with a good selection for breakfast. It's a great place to stay for the port. The only downfall is getting to the metro you walk through business areas that are closed at night. If I was a woman alone I wouldn't feel safe. That being said, we were never approached and the gypsies that have things for sale near the metro are gone at night.

The hotel was good. At first I received a room I didn't like, but it has been changed immediately! The breakfast buffet was great. I recommend.

Breakfast is very weak. For a 5-star hotel, the staff could contribute more creativity to the buffet. For 4 days There was 90% the same.

Great location, reasonable price, the room was very nice, clean, comfortable bed. Our room had a bathtub so nice you will want to stay longer just for that. Staff friendly and knowledgeable, they gave me directions to places I needed to go to. Bell desk is awesome. One of the best things is the breakfast buffet that is included. Delicious food! The lobby is stylish and comfortable.

5-Star Hotel. Allows early entry according to availability. He's got Netflix. For cruises is the ideal hotel.

Stylish posh hotel, accessible and very convenient to access. Staff are very polite and professional. Docking off a star as the AC was totally ineffective and the room during the night became a furnace. Reception restarted the system and the situation became much better. 24hr small free buffet was a nice touch especially for people leaving very early before breakfast to head to the airport.

It's officially a 5 stars hotel but actually it's 4. It's clean, comfortable, standard furnitures. The check in was not pleasant since I arrived at midnight and nobody was in. I had to wait 15 minutes.

Hotel quoted me EUR 65 for a luxury Mercedes to pick up from airport, however I was greeted by a Skoda taxi and they wanted to charge the same price! What a cheat!

We stayed at the hotel because it was close to the ferries. It was a very comfortable hotel, and the staff was very friendly. The best part of the stay was the breakfast! Two years later, and we still speak about how delicious the food was, and how many different choices they gave. It was the perfect way to get over our jet lag and begin our wonderful Greek Island vacation.

The hotel is nice. Staff is very friendly and helpful. We had room 101 which was small and a view of the roof of another building. We told them we didn't like the room and they changed it the next day to something much better and brighter. The hotel is very close to the Piraeus Port, shopping, transportation and restaurants. They also offer buffet (free) style breakfast each morning which is very good. If you need ice call room service and they will bring you some in an ice bucket. My husband and I felt very safe in the area. We had to catch an 8am plane and we walked to the metro station at 5am in the morning. We would stay there if every we were in Greece again and certainly recommend you do.

No AC and it was way too warm.
