That was the perfect location for a short stay in Athens, just on the other side of the Metropolitan Cathedral of Athens, 5 min walk from Syntagma square, really in the middle of everything. Very clean and cozy rooms, super helpful and friendly reception staff. There was no breakfast yet provided in the hotel, due to low season, so the staff pointed to the cafes just round the corner where one could get good breakfast and very good coffee! So every morning we could enjoy coffee with a nice view to the Cathedral and Acropolis from the balcony or the roof top!

Both with a friend of mine had great stay in Metropolis Hotel last week. Perfect location (but noisy place in general), very clean area and room, extremely polite and smiling stuff! Thank you!

Room 51 is a renovated triple room. It is small but the terrace offers an exceptional view of the acropolis.
Sir the roof at the 6th the terrace is also sublime.
If we pay in cash, we get a 10% discount.

Okay, center, but be prepared for that at 07.30 the bell starts ringing and you won't need the alarm anymore!

Excellent one night stay, close to everything and the room was very clean and comfortable. Extra bonus, my standard double room had AMAZING views to the Acropolis.

Room and bathroom very small. No storage — flat for toothbrush, mouthwash, etc.
No hang hooks for towels in the bathroom. Price ratio poor. Cleanliness good, staff friendly.

Mega staff (there are not many I believe only 2-3) but they are simply over correct and nice. The rooms are a bit cramped but I was not bored for the city tour there to get bored in the room therefore enough for me.

Great view of the Acropolis… very nice home, dream lunch on the terrace… beautiful place.

Had a fantastic, five-day break in Athens in Feb 2018. Weather was good for the time of year (up to 17C) and the Hotel Metropolis was an excellent place to stay. The Hotel's recently refurbished rooms are immaculately clean and serviced every day. It's just a five-minute walk from Syntagma Square, where the metro or bus will drop you off. There are lots of good restaurants and bars in the area as well as a few supermarkets if you simply want to buy a cold beer (or two) to enjoy on the terrace of the Hotel, overlooking the Acropolis. All the staff speak brilliant English; Inder was especially kind and helpful, recommending great restaurants and places to visit. If you go to Athens, stay at the Metropolis!

Good location but small room.

Super well located, a few minutes to walk to Plaka, Syntagma or Monastiraki. Very nice personnel and small but very comfortable room. Shower enclosure could improve a little (gets the whole bathroom wet) but that didn't affect at all our stay or opinion on the place. Would definitely stay there again!

Good location in the heart of downtown. You can easily walk any where. Staff were great. Our room was small but comfortable. It is a noisy area though. The bells in the church across the street ring every half hour through the night and the area doesn't seem to sleep until 4am. Still recommend it though.

Excellent place, in the center of Athens, small but very clean and close to the tourist attractions, has a spectacular view of the terrace to the Parthenon, the reception staff of the best always friendly, providing help and very helpful, widely recommended.

In the heart of Athens. A fantastic view of the Acropolis.

It was a nice clean hotel… we were out and about alot. Nice terrace at the top you could sit out and view the city around you. Breakfast option served up there in the mornings. People were friendly. I would stay there again. Not super fancy but perfect for us and the experience we were looking for.

Don't let official 2-stars classification fool you. This is a small hotel with great warmth, clean rooms, exceptionally friendly staff. Tiny bathroom? Well, it's not a day spa. Elevator is not hi-tech? Well, staircase is always there! Stayed there for Athens Marathon, and they moved breakfast for 1.5 h earlier specially for us runners. These sweet small details count. Oh, and location — all the pedestrian historical districts, Acropolis and Syntagma Square in very close proximity.
