The cafe and the souvenir shop remain closed for the time being, but you can get food and drink in the Mons Calpe Suite restaurant and bar. Views from the terraces over Gibraltar are the best, with clear views over the Strait of Gibraltar and the Bay of Gibraltar. Watch your belongings around the resident wild Barbary macaques, and don't feed them!

Hotel was lovely and clean. Staff very friendly. Great views from balcony. But beds are rock hard, road is very busy and very very steep!

We've been going to the Rock for a while now and in the past I would have given it a 3. However over the last couple of visits I have noticed a marked improvement. The breakfast is now very good offering a very traditional full English breakfast but using higher quality ingredients. The bacon is well cooked thick back bacon not over cooked and not too fatty. The sausages are nice and the rest of the selections are equally good. Ordering eggs is now more hit than miss and they arrive in a reasonable time. The fruit and cakes again have shown a marked improvement bit in quality and availability. Not having dinner there I cannot comment on that but the menu seems a little more agreeable. The rooms are clean and of a good size with fantastic views over the harbour. Very comfortable although my bed was a little hard in the mattress. Friendly staff who have again shown a marked improvement in their friendliness and helpfulness. Unfortunately for a hotel of this sort I would say closing the bar at 12 is just too early. If you eat like a Spanish local you may not even start your meal until 10 or 11 so by the time you have finished there's no time for a nightcap. I also think it's not very good having a reception inaccessible for anyone in a wheelchair or similar. You can get an elevator to the main floor where there are lifts to the other floors but the reception is between the 2!

Hotel is located in a noisy area but close to botanic garden and relatively close to marina. We had nice view from our room! All AC vents I could see were exceptionally dirty, so yeah… not a good thing for folks with allergies. Bar service was nice, they had very large selection of wines and afternoon tea service. Room was quite clean (except for few spots in corners, under the bed and fore mentioned AC vents).

Very nice hotel in a great position. Rooms with balconies are impressive with a great view out over the city and bay area. Breakfast was very good especially sitting outside. Short walk into main part of town. Although coming back is up a very big hill. Would recommend staying there.

Excellent hotel in a great location to walk into town. Has its own pool bar area to if you want to stay put. Restaurant also serves great food. Views of the bay from the balcony rooms take some beating. Over the road are the beautiful botanical gardens. Enjoy Gibraltar. It’s a special place.

Iconic place to stay in Gibraltar 10-15 min walk from the Main Street. We had a great time here to celebrate our marriage and the staff is very welcoming and helpful. The view was amazing from our room. I gave 4 as breakfast was so-so.

I stayed here back when it was still considered a 5 star hotel. Lavish location, with amazing views and a modern classic décor. Very memorable experience, and well worth the stay if it’s within your budget.

An institution in Gib, hotel in the old colonial style where you can get afternoon tea served on the Wisteria covered terrace. All rooms overlook the Bay, I would recommend one with a balcony to sit out on & watch the world go by. Just about walkable from the Airport if you have light luggage, otherwise get a Number 5 bus from the Airport to the Market Square & then a Number 2 bus to the Hotel.

Hardly any parking and no system for managing it. The staff called us down to offer us a "better" space which had already gone by the time we circled around. In the meantime they gave our original space to a sportscar which no doubt was the point. Restaurant service was slow and forgetful. Soggy hash browns for breakfast. Deeply average hotel with absurd delusions of grandeur.

Just arrived back after 4 days. All staff brilliant particularly bar and restaurant managers. Food and choice very good in both bar and restaurant. Room very comfortable with good housekeeping. Wonderful views of bay due to elevated position not downside steep hill. This is my 6th visit. Will be booking another very shortly.

We visit Gibraltar twice a year and wouldn't consider staying anywhere else. Beautiful views across the Bay and north Africa. The hotel was recently refurbished to a very high standard. The staff are professional and extremely friendly. The Gibraltar Tourist Board have only rated this hotel four stars, myself and my wife would rate it five stars. A wonderful Mediterranean experience. Most highly recommended.

This place was amazing. The food was great and the service was even better. Could not fault a thing. Even better was the prices did not break the bank.

Very chic place, clean, almost refined. Professional reception Although slightly "sterile". I don't know the average of hotels in Gibraltar, but by Italian standards this is expensive.

Gorgeous hotel. Fantastic sea views and of the Botanical Gardens too. Had Afternoon Tea which was delicious. The service was excellent and the staff made my experience very special. If you want a bit of luxury, then visit or stay at this hotel.

We stayed here for my birthday over the Christmas period. First impressions clean. Bed wasn't the comfiest. The TV has 200 channels & with the place being quiet it's good to have that available. Room service wasn't the best your limited to what you can get mainly sandwiches & crisp but wouldn't bother. We had the cleaners not even knock & walk in whilst we was sleeping at 9am when check out wasn't until 11am. Wasn't to impressed to be fair.

After the renovation, it is beautiful although I do not see quite a good fact that the walls of the bathroom have not been tiled, because I think it would be much more hygienic; and that in the corridors they have placed parquet floor inplace of carpets or carpets, which would dampen the noise of the footsteps. Otherwise, beautiful and with spectacular views.

Spent two lovely nights on 11th November in room 428 — views from balcony clear and superb. Staff pleasant and helpful. Have stayed there before and it remains a classy hotel — I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else.

A well appointed, tasteful hotel with a large bathroom and bedroom. Wonderful views of the Gibraltar coast. Staff were polite however I checked in earlier than the 2pm requested time and this was clearly not communicated to all staff as I had 3 different people enter my room un announced. Otherwise a pleasant stay but be careful of your hotel windows and outside doors as Monkeys can come in and nab your fruit, as I discovered.

The hotel has the classic British charm. It's not all perfect (the Wi-Fi is lame, the doors close badly, on the back there are dingy corners), but the really important things are made with love.
The restaurant in particular is to be commended. There is a good choice for vegetarians and the food is of a high quality. The staff are attentive and nice. We tried breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner several times and were always happy with everything. In fine weather (almost all year round) you sit wonderfully on the restaurant terrace with a view towards the sea and the harbour.
Right in front of the house stop bus lines 2, 3 and 7 (but only southbound).
Also right in front of the house is Alameda Gardens, where you can relax.
Occasionally, the hotel is also visited by the Berber monkeys.
The rooms all have a balcony with sea views and are well equipped.

Updated and decorated. Still delightfully slightly 'Fawlty Towers'. A great place to stay with fabulous views over the Bay.

Nice hotel, sitting right in the middle of Gibraltar. Very easy to get to, and very easy to go to the top of the mountain as the cable car station is just right outside the hotel. Service was nice and place was kept clean. Will return again x.

Okay, we didn't stay here but visited it while staying in Gibraltar. Amazing view and the service from the staff at the reception desk was amazing. They even printed ticket vouchers for me without charge. Will definitely stay here when I come back.

Lovely view and great staff. Rooms are clean and a good size. Worth getting a balcony so you can appreciate the view day and night. Breakfast was great as well.

Just popped in for a late lunch. There's a nice view, and the service is ok/mixed. But the the food is lazy, overpriced and bland. Definitely not a 4 star dining experience. Have a drink, enjoy the view, avoid the food.

Great hotel, loved it! Stayed here in January 2016. It must have one of the best views in all of Gibraltar. I also understand it's been recently refurbished so everything looks really modern and new. The veranda is covered in vines and is one of the best places to sit and have a drink while watching the sunset. Try to get rooms on the first floor as they have their own balconies. The only downside is it is a little pricey for drinks.

Stayed for one night in September, nice room over looking the sea. We had our evening meal on the terrace, food was excellent. If you get the chance to be in Gibraltar I highly recommend it.

Stayed here from the 19th of November to the 22nd of November (2015) Arrived late after a last minute diversion to Malaga after Gibraltar runway sustained some damage. We informed the hotel by email of our revised plans and received a response 30 minutes later confirming they had received the email and sympathy for our 120km transfer. We arrived at the hotel about 3 hours late, check in was lovely and fast. We paid a little extra for a room with a balcony and by god this was worth it! A lovely view over the port looking towards west of rock out to Spain and Morocco. The room seemed to be in brilliant condition and very clean. The restaurant isn't as pricey as one would expect and is certainly a fine dining experience, my only gripe about the restaurant was the amount of options available but the food was truly amazing and the service exceeding any standard I've seen in a hotel… e. G Raddison Blu/Hilton. Housekeeping staff was also well training in customer service and really knew how to clean a room well. Checkout was also fast and the staff assisted us by calling a taxi and keeping our baggage for when we were ready to go to the airport. The only bad thing I could say about my stay was the Wi-Fi, an issue with the DHCP server was causing hell but as you can imagine a population the size of 30, 001 Gibraltar probably lacks amazing IT experts.

Very good in a British sort of way Good recently renovated rooms facing the Harbour ample size with a proper English breakfast. Huge amount of famous people have slept here. Only thing I can complain about is the coffee no expresso. Staff are top notch with a proffesional attitude without being patronising more like family. Highly recomended. Thanks.
