We a great experience at Zaina, two adults and one young child (elementary aged). Staff was friendly and helpful, the food was excellent, and the rooms were quite nice. Electricty, air conditioning and water was very reliable, no problems during our 3 day stay. The "tented cabins" are well appointed and really the tent is just to give it a "safari feel" you might as well be in a small cabin. The pool is very swimmable, the restaurant served good food but limited selection (choice of a local dish or a "Continental" dish). We did one driving safari, and saw elephants (lots), baboons, monkeys, warthogs, and lots of various antelope. No predators, but we did hear hyenas at night making noise around our "tent". Everything is pricey but that's the way these places are. I have been on Kenya and South Africa safaris and this is quite up to those experiences, but if you are here already in Ghana and want a local experience (and aren't worried about spending some cash) Zaina is great. I'm happy we went and happy to support Mole park's continued existence — it is quite beautiful. And if elephants are your thing, this is the place to come. They wander the grounds of the lodge quite often, one time they were blocking our path to the main lodge (we waited them out, of course).

After a long day of driving, the lodge was a very welcome sight. The design of the main lodge and walkway has incorporated local culture and reminded us of the nearby Larabanga Mosque. Our room/tent was quiet, very comfortable and spacious with a separate room for the toilet, two washbasins and large walk-in shower, as well as an outside shower. The soaps and moisturizing cream were sourced locally and made from Shea Butter. There was a working safe. The deck was shaded by a large tree that attracted numerous bird species, including sunbirds and bee-eaters, and overlooked a waterhole where we watched elephants drinking and bathing as well as some kob and waterbuck. The room had a cooler-box that was stocked daily with water. We were able to access Wi-Fi from the main lodge, although it was slow when numerous people were logged on. Our dinners were a combination of a la carte and buffet and served a variety of options. We had a couple of very early mornings (5:30am start), and the kitchen staff and head-chef were kind enough to serve us breakfast at that early hour. Additional descriptions by other reviewers are accurate in my opinion.
The only criticism I have concerns the electrical outlets/plugs. While Ghana uses both Type G and D outlets, every other hotel we stayed in Ghana used primarily Type G and worked with our universal adapter.

We stayed 2 nights and 3 days at Zaina Lodge and had a fun time on our "Ghana National Park adventure" as part of our one week visit to Ghana to spend time with our daughter and her husband who recently moved to Accra for work. They planned the whole trip for us and we all agreed that Zaina Lodge was a good choice for our stay in Mole National Park. The accommodations were nice and the all inclusive price was a good value considering that three meals a day were served (not buffet), with at least three entree options. The lodge price also include one 2 hr safari each day and a very nice pool and bar area overlooking the park. I can't imagine staying at any of the other accommodations in Mole National Park considering the pleasant stay we had at Zaina Lodge. The safari guides were great and the Zaina house staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall, a great visit to this area of Ghana and Mole National Park. Thanks Zaina Lodge!

We had an absolutely incredible stay here over New Year. The staff were very attentive and made our experience unforgettable. The rooms were very spacious and luxurious and the infinity pool was stunning. We saw so many elephants, along with plenty of other wildlife. I have been on other safaris previously, but this was totally different as there were much less people so it was more relaxed and exclusive. Couldn’t recommend this enough! We hope to be back in the future.

We stayed one night at Zaina Lodge in Mole National Park, and it honestly could have been a wonderful experience — the location has so much potential. Unfortunately, for a lodge in this price range that markets itself as a luxury lodge, it did not feel like a good experience overall.
What stood out most was the atmosphere and service. The staff felt unusually strict and, more importantly, very scarce with resources. At breakfast and dinner everything was kept extremely limited. When we asked for additional food, the answer was simply that they “don’t have it. ” That approach might work at a budget place, but not at a lodge charging luxury-level prices. Luxury should come with generosity, flexibility, and a feeling of being welcomed — and that was missing here.
Another major disappointment was the safari pricing. The lodge’s safari tours were massively overpriced — almost ten times the cost compared to the safaris offered directly by the national park. We were told the lodge safaris are “special” and different from the park tours, but in reality it was the exact same experience. If you’re staying here, I strongly recommend booking your safari directly with the national park instead of paying the lodge’s inflated rates.
Overall, it’s a real shame because the place could be fantastic with a more guest-focused approach. But as it is, it felt like an overly capitalist and overpriced setup rather than a genuinely warm, high-quality luxury experience.

Spectacular service set in a paradise of wildlife and beauty. Very comfortable, clean and secure. You are treated as esteemed guests. The food was delicious and creative. One vegetarian and one meat eater. We stayed for four days and didn't have the same meal. I booked a massage in the spa, and was so impressed by the strength. Our travel guides Daniel and Musah, were so incredible! We saw so much wildlife andeaenes so much, we saw elephants everyday. What an epic adventure. Everyone was so friendly and helpful!
As we left we felt like we were leaving family. We loved our experience and look forward to coming back. Thank you!

Luxury price tag but unfortunately not a luxury experience.
When we first arrived we were bombarded with all the things we could not do because of the plan we were on. We were then asked to pay for all of these extra things that we did not want before we even had our welcome drinks.
The rooms were very basic for a 5* hotel.
The food was very nice, but you can’t buy just one glass of wine — you have to buy a whole bottle.
When you wake up at 5am, any other safari hotel we have stayed at offer a quick tea or coffee and a pastry before our tour — we didn’t even get offered a bottle of water.
The lodge lacks atmosphere.
The views were stunning, elephants came right up to the reception and there was a lovely little genet who hung around the lodge.
Because this is the only “luxury” safari lodge, Zaina has no competition and thus no need to actually offer guests a luxury experience.

Nice spacious room, with wildlife right outside your doorstep. The ice box is a nice touch to keep water cold. Would have loved to have a kettle in the room. Wifi is very dodgy or unavailable in the room. Shower pressure is excellent. Like being under a waterfall.
The restaurant food options — especially if you are on full board package is limited. The bar is nice and so is the pool. The sunset is amazing.
Expect lot of flies after dusk. You might be lucky to see wildlife right outside by the watering hole. There is also the wild elephant that visits the front of the hotel every evening which is quite cool.
The safaris are highly recommended during your stay. Expect to see elephants and lot of deers. Also do go for the night safari.
The staff are helpful and friendly but check in and check out can take time. Check your bills line by line when you check out.

This is a lovely lodge with a very personal service. The chalets are very spacious and comfortable with modern bathroom facilities. The infinity pool is cool with gorgeous views over the wilderness including a lake where animals come to drink. The food is varied including vegetarian options, fresh and delicious. While not as extensive as East Africa, there is lots to see on driving and walking safaris laid on by the lodge. Loads of mammals and an amazing variety of birds. Crucially, safaris are not nearly as busy as East Africa. You have the national park pretty much to yourself and we met just one other safari tour in three days, and that was in high season.

Zaina Lodge offers a stunning setting, with wonderful rooms, a beautiful views of the park, and a nice pool. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives largely end.
The lodge seems to operate at luxury prices, yet many aspects of the experience feel inflated or underwhelming. Meals were several times more expensive (4x for lunch and 5x for dinner) than the Mole Motel. My 45 minute back massage was really a 5 minute massage done 9 times in a row. The bar did not have fresh fruit for juices and smoothies. They were also out of a substantial amount of the ingredients for cocktails, including non-perishables (local gin and flavored syrup). Their employee seemed disgruntled when I declined to join the safari.
In short, Zaina Lodge provides the aesthetics of a high-end stay but delivers a service experience that doesn’t match the cost. For the price, I personally will not stay here again.

The lodge, Locstion, people, service and food were all amazing. We went for 3 days and it was hard to leave. While we have been on maybe safaris in Southern Africa. This place is special and we did see a lot of wildlife — up close and personal.

Fun for family, but don’t expect to get everything you pay for…
Zaina attempts to present an upscale experience but falls short, especially considering the premium price tag: Admittedly, the park view from the pool deck is stunning and the rooms are comfortable. And the on-site staff are mostly friendly. But the restaurant is outside where temperatures soar, and the chairs are full of beetles. The culinary experience was so so. Our three rooms had neither Wi-Fi nor hot water. Additionally, one room had no AC and we had to push for a room change. On our morning safari, our reservation was fumbled and one group member was excluded from the trip and the rest were split up. Inside the park, animal density wasn’t particularly high, but we did get to see elephants on both outings (but this can be hit-or-miss). We brought our grade school-age kids and created some lasting memories. Overall, you’ll probably enjoy this lodge so long as you temper your expectations and don’t mind overpaying for what you get (or don’t). Unfortunately, there probably isn’t a better option in Mole.

Our party of five visited Zaina Lodge in late August 2025. The lodge was welcoming, clean and well appointed. The tours were well organized and the guides extremely knowledgeable. We did two land tours and the river tour. We saw elephants, monkeys, birds and other animals in their natural habitat. A special shout out to chef David. The meals were absolutely delicious.

This place is mind blowing! Absolutely worth the trip! Highly recommend calling and setting up transportation with the lodge itself, and fly into Témala! We saw so many elephants and animals and the staff was amazing! Loved it!

This is a wonderful location high in the woods overviewing the natural park of 4600km2. Well organized safaris in morning or night.
Hotel houses very good and clean! Fully equipped to give you a comfortable feeling.
Restaurant and bar can give you all you want.

I visited in July 2022.
I contemplated between giving 2 or 3 stars. I gave 3 because of the very friendly and helpful staff: I requested breakfast that wasn’t on the menu and it was made for me.
Aside this and nice rooms, there was nothing more that was worth the price. The animals were left to roam with a warning to guests about being careful, and no extra measures taken to ensure we were actually safe. We were asked to call reception if we needed company to walk… I called many times without response. I was left in my room many times because I feared the animals who may or may had not been there.
I barely saw any animals during the tour and while I was in my room overlooking the forest from the balcony. They said it was rainy season so the animals mostly stayed hidden. There was no special care for the animals, so I didn’t know what I was paying for aside the accommodation and food, and didn’t think it was worth the price at all!
It’s just another hotel which is located in the savanna with friendly staff. Honestly, why charge so much?
Also, the food was all foreign, it will be worth giving a taste of what the region has. I only got local food after making a special request. Until then, there wasn’t even a mention of local cuisine.

The elephants in their majestic glory will keep us visiting Mole National Park. The resort was an added bonus, especially the delicious locally sourced foods. The highly personal welcome combined with the professionalism of the staff was A+. Looking forward to second trip with possible night safari.

This place is beautiful and serene. Dry season is very hot but you will likely see more animals because there is less brush. Watering hole is located within perfect view of the main lodge and infinity pool. Beds are super comfy in the cabins. Spa services are amazing! Take the tours and keep your eyes peeled for amazing animals!

Amazing location inside the park with modern facilities. Great views and access to national park safaris. Food is served as full board with variety and supports vegetarian. Maintained well and very good service. Suggestion for improvements are coffee maker in the room, longer hot water for showers, improve water and electricity availability.
