Newer beds and more modern furniture. A stocked minibar would also have been nice. The mattresses of the beds were already very laid through and the back hurt after only one night.

We have just enjoyed a lovely one night stay at this hotel as a family with our baby and dog. Checkin was good, it took a bit of time with a few questions and an apprentice, who was helpful and friendly, needing a bit of extra time. We were very happy with our room. Right now the hotel is undergoing extensive renovations and modernisation. Our room had already been done, but the air conditioning was turned off due to this. Luckily it wasn't in the middle of summer, it wasn't a problem for us.
Unfortunately we didn't have time to go swimming and use the wellness area as we went into Weimar instead, better to drive in as it is a bit far to walk into town. Although the hotel now has bikes to hire so this would also be an option.
A baby cot was set up in our room as we requested and we found the room spacious and comfortable.
In the morning we enjoyed a very good breakfast with lots of selection. Cooked breakfast was excellent!
We really enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to others.
