A very nice hotel with a good location. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very nicely quiet and comfortable. Everything is very nicely brightly designed and very clean. I also like the cuisine of the restaurant. The food is delicious and the ambience tasteful.

We went with friends last night for a summer night barbecue.
It was a beautiful evening. From the ambience, the excellent food to the entertainment. A big thank you to the staff of the house. We will be back.

We celebrated our wedding in the villa in August. It was all exactly as we wanted it to be. Great organized, extremely friendly staff and delicious food! Individual requests were always met and the great bridal suite rounded off everything. It was a beautiful day. Many thanks to the whole team ❤

Four stars for accommodation and bathroom items. Beautiful big room. Well-maintained facility. Very clean. Unfortunately: Food bad. Breakfast very meager. Portioned… without decoration. The sausage smelled and was greasy. Lunch… a fresh roulade does not look grey. Red cabbage and dumplings were industrial products. Prices not fair. It is a pity, with the food stands and falls the whole house. Tip, take a look at the buffet of other hotel! SEE us, we will be happy to come back.

1. Room as booked not available. Note it was a wedding party that was especially on site beforehand to discuss all the details and to select the rooms wisely. Not one room was available as ordered. Trainees completely overwhelmed with the situation. Telephone access of the management is not possible.
2. No extra bed for child. Although ordered on time.
3. No kettle available for baby food. Instead of the kettle, there was a completely dirty coffee pot. Extreme deposits in the jug. Just disgusting!
4.2 dirty teapots at the breakfast table. Very poor choice for breakfast.
5. No filled minibar. We asked to stock them. We have been assured of this twice. The third time came the statement that these will only be felt once all rooms are equipped with a refrigerator.
6. We expressed our criticism and were approached very hard by Mrs Simon. Only the summoned owner (owner and chef) was able to calm the situation and apologized to us.
7. To date, no explanation as to why room bookings went wrong. Consider that we were there with 3 children and one of them was 2 weeks old. All rooms were now wrongly located on the top floor (no elevator available). Our two older children no longer face, but at the other end of the hallway. By the way, not even the newlyweds had got the specially selected room.
8. Positive to mention is the ambience and the kitchen. But in the end it couldn't save it. Price performance does not fit in this hotel at all.

I was allowed to photograph a wedding here. Very nice and plenched ambience, friendly staff and the service was impeccable. You look very closely as a photographer and this villa is perfect for a wedding.

Beautiful location. Dreamlike for weddings! We celebrated ours here and it was like being in a fairy tale. The team is very nice and courteous and reads every wish from your eyes. The food was spiked. The ambience is just beautiful. And you can also stay with your guests directly in the hotel and have breakfast together the next morning.

We had a wonderful evening in the villa, great food and a wonderful breakfast on the terrace. (Unfortunately, we haven't had any of the new rooms yet, but if the "old ones" are already like this, we're excited to discover the new ones on a next visit. )

Unfortunately disappointing! Actually, we like the restaurant. But were surprised by the very scarce menu. Have ordered then stop from the small offer. The deer Sauerbraten was dry and firm. Hirschmedallion strictly in Taste and Zerrig, which overspices the encampments. The schnitzel is not fried crispy. Finally it turned out that large tables only get a small card, small can choose from the large program. Not only annoying but discriminatory. Not so fast again.

A real gem in Art Nouveau style, lovingly preserved and restored. Even in the room beautiful stylish details. And the food high quality at affordable price. I was professionally in Pößneck, but I can also imagine my holiday here.

Absolutely recommended top price/performance ratio. A great villa with tradition and history converted into a tasteful personal hotel. Charm, comfort and modern technology all there. Also recommended is the restaurant with a regional and modern menu and very good wines. Close to the city, however, is beautifully situated in a large park with a beautiful terrace and a large in-house parking lot.
We have been visiting this house for many years for business and also in private. In doing so, we are happy to follow the constant improvements on and in the house. From here, Thuringia is also easy to discover and there are only 25 minutes to the motorway.

We were able to spend 2 super nice days in the Villa Altenburg and were more than thrilled!
The newly renovated rooms are beautiful, very fitting and stylishly furnished.
The service very nice and the kitchen not only good, but really outstanding, the price-performance ratio is top! At the next Pößneck stay we will definitely be back!
