Hotel Wandersleben - Erfurt in Q&A

Information is provided based on reviews and may contain inaccuracies.

Where is Hotel Wandersleben located and what is nearby?

The hotel is set in a picturesque area surrounded by nature, making it an ideal destination for hiking and cycling. Nearby, you will find the "3 Gleichen" cycling route and easily accessible historic castle ruins. The hotel is located just a few hundred meters from the autobahn, which is convenient for travelers, while still maintaining a quiet and peaceful atmosphere. Some guests noted that while the surrounding countryside is very scenic, occasional litter can be seen on the village streets.

Does the hotel have parking, and is it suitable for large vehicles?

The hotel offers on-site parking directly in front of the building, as well as a dedicated garage for motorcycles. Guests note that there are plenty of parking spaces. In particular, one guest confirmed that parking a 7.2-ton truck was completely hassle-free.

How polite is the staff, and what is the service like at Hotel Wandersleben?

The staff and the owners, Maria and Tobi, are described as exceptionally warm, friendly, and hospitable. Guests highlight the professional management paired with a personal, family-like approach to service. Customer service is rated as excellent: the team is attentive to individual requests, provides prompt assistance in challenging situations, and demonstrates genuine care. One guest noted an exceptional instance where the receptionist returned a forgotten jacket a full year later.

What is the breakfast like at the hotel?

Breakfast at the hotel is described as delicious, varied, and plentiful. Guests praise the wide selection of regional products, homemade egg and cheese salads, authentic scrambled eggs, as well as homemade pastries and cakes. Although the display may initially seem modest, the wide range of complementary items rivals that of larger hotels. Many guests consider the breakfast to be one of the hotel's main highlights.

What can you say about the rooms, beds, and interior design?

The rooms feature bespoke interiors, each being a unique "themed" room designed with great attention to detail. Guests highlight the impeccable cleanliness, modern renovations, and cozy feel. The beds are extremely comfortable, with some rooms offering electrically adjustable beds that provide 4-star-level comfort. The only minor drawback mentioned was the relatively small shelving in the bathroom.

What is the overall atmosphere at the hotel, and are there relaxation areas?

The hotel boasts a very cozy, family-friendly, and welcoming atmosphere where guests feel right at home. Of particular note is the self-service lounge concept in place of a traditional evening restaurant: the basement houses the "Robbers' Cellar" (Räuberkeller) offering draft beer, a wine cooler, and refreshments operating on an honor-system basis. There is also a fireplace room, which is perfect for birthday parties and other gatherings. Additionally, a shared communal kitchen is provided in the basement for guests who prefer to cook their own meals.

We were guests in this very nice hotel in March. We had a nice room with a bathroom, which was all very clean. The breakfast was great, nothing was missing.
It doesn't get any better. The ladies who run the hotel are extremely friendly and empathetic.
We will be very happy to come back.
