Allmanns-Kroog in Q&A

Information is provided based on reviews and may contain inaccuracies.

What is located near the Allmanns-Kroog hotel, and what is the surrounding area like?

The hotel is located in a very quiet area on a peaceful street, yet still in a central location. In the immediate vicinity—less than 100 meters away—there is an Edeka grocery store and a pizza delivery service (which is closed on Mondays). Guests note the convenient location and the pleasant appearance of the building.

How does the front desk operate, and how polite is the staff?

The staff at Allmanns-Kroog is mostly described as very friendly, welcoming, and helpful, with employees striving to anticipate guests' needs. However, guest experiences vary: some encountered no staff present upon arrival, where key pickup had to be arranged via a phone call and a wait. There was also an instance of staff rudeness reported in response to a remark about incorrect parking in spaces designated for parents with children.

What kind of breakfast is served at the hotel, and how varied is it?

The hotel's breakfast is described as excellent, bountiful, and beautifully presented. The menu includes coffee, tea, orange juice, various cheeses and cold cuts, fruit, cucumbers, bell peppers, tomatoes, yogurt, honey, Nutella, and a wide selection of bread and rolls. Meals are served in a spacious, pleasant room, although on one occasion, due to a staff shortage, guests had to self-serve.

Is there a restaurant at the hotel, and what does it offer?

The hotel features an on-site restaurant that guests describe as serving delicious food and highly recommend visiting. Some guests have known it since childhood and speak highly of the food quality.

What condition are the rooms and furniture in?

Opinions on the rooms are divided: some guests describe them as cozy, neatly decorated, and matching the photos on the website. Others describe the interior as dated, reminiscent of the 1970s, and note that the mattresses need replacing as they can be squeaky. A specific musty odor or slight unpleasant smell was also reported in some rooms.

How clean are the rooms and common areas?

Most guests rate the cleanliness of the rooms, bathrooms, and the entire premises highly. The hotel is described as very well-maintained and compliant with hygiene standards.

What can be said about the bathrooms and room amenities?

The rooms feature shower cabins or bathtubs with a high step-in threshold (around 40 cm), which may be inconvenient for some guests. The bathroom fixtures are considered somewhat dated. The hotel also offers a shared room with a refrigerator and microwave, and some guests enjoy using the small shared kitchen.

Is the hotel suitable for guests with reduced mobility?

The hotel is not fully adapted for guests with disabilities. Guests note the lack of a barrier-free entrance, as well as the high threshold in the showers and tubs, which makes access difficult.

How is the soundproofing at Allmanns-Kroog?

Soundproofing can be inadequate. One review mentions a guest hearing the upstairs neighbor moving furniture at 4:30 AM, which disturbed their rest.
