A beautiful hotel. You can relax really great and let your soul dangle. We can only recommend this place to everyone! Everyone is really nice and the food is indescribably delicious! We would love to come back :) A big compliment and thank you.

A beautifully and very lovingly furnished hotel, the location is optimal — within walking distance to the old town — the cuisine excellent, we enjoyed the excellent 4-course candlelight dinner, and finally the most important thing about a good hotel: the service! Even in difficult Corona times, the staff takes the time and strength for cordiality, friendly we were served and cared for. There is a feel-good atmosphere all around here.

We were allowed to spend 2 nights in a wellness room, with our own whirlpool tub and infrared sauna. The 4 Gang Candle Light Dinner on our first evening was incredibly delicious. We felt completely comfortable. ☺️

We were allowed to stay here last weekend. Apart from the dreamlike ambience and the beautiful wellness room, I noticed something else. This very great cordiality already at the reception, in the gastro area and the next morning at a divine breakfast is unfortunately not to be found everywhere nowadays. Thank you to the whole team and we'll be back soon.

Our stay over 2 nights was ok despite the difficult situation due to the Corona conditions. Unfortunately, neither the room nor the staff were able to maintain the declared level. Unfortunately, price and performance were not in harmony with us. Unfortunately, at the candle light dinner there was also quite a lot going wrong, very long waiting time between the aisles, we were served by an apprentice (who according to her knowledge tried to give her best) and the atmosphere in the middle of the dining room was unfortunately not optimal either. Table decorations — too little and unfortunately not fresh. Unfortunately, the cocktail to apologize could only partially save this evening. What a pity!

Very loving and romantically furnished, very nice staff, super wellness area with great treatments. Absolutely recommended for relaxing.

Very nice Hotel, friendly staff and very good Restaurant. But small Wellness room with 200. — €/Night is clearly too expensive and the room is above the party room. Therefore, it was not possible that night to sleep : — (

We stayed four days in the golden barrel in a Welness double room. It was really everything a dream: whirpool tub in the modern room, the beautiful courtyard, the super tasty, more upscale food in the restaurant, that always very nice staff and the despite high standards very friendly-loose-family atmosphere. Of all the 3 to 5 star hotels we have been in so far, breakfast was one of the best here: no cheese or sausage off the shelf, away. Fishsp. Lekere coffee specialties and every morning there were a few variations. Only the eggs could still be organic eggs to round it all off. The building sometimes had maybe one or two quirks, but even this contributed more to the cozy charm of the hotel and did not bother at all. Finally, ixh noxh would like to praise the kitchen, because the chef has delighted us with every meal!

Super nice room, whirlpool tubin in the room. Beautiful bathroom. Very well maintained. One point deduction for defective bracket on the adjustable bed.

Beautiful little hotel furnished with a lot of love and individualism. Very nice sauna and attractive spa. A big thank you to the staff, which is extremely attentive. Here you like to come back!

We spent three beautiful days in the wellness double room. It was very nice and we felt very comfortable. From the reception, the beautiful room, the spa treatment and the breakfast. Thank you, we will be happy to return and recommend it to anyone.

We were a spontaneous wellness stay in the golden barrel and loved it. The ambiance was very nice and cozy. Our two masseuses were very competent and friendly. We had a premium couple package — > > 75min full Body massage including Wacker Bart sparkling wine and snack. The snack consisted of fresh fruit, Sesamsticks and rose-hips spread. Everything was delicious. The hotel ambience inside and outside also makes an upscale and inviting impression. Thank you for this nice time out. We felt very comfortable and would like to recommend the "Golden Keg" in Meissen.

That was a fantastic 4 days at the Hotel Goldenes Fass. We were very kindly received, even to our little dog was thought with a treat, All thumbs up. Very clean rooms with a lot of attention to detail. Everything was thought of. The mulled wine at the small Christmas market in the courtyard was delicious.
Breakfast invited you to linger longer and was delicious enough. Oh and the beds a dream. Mom. Was there actually something that didn't exist? Hmmm.
So I can only recommend you to keep doing so and thank you for the lovely time.

Very good for short holidays. Centrally located on the Elberadweg, 7 minutes to the train station and also to the city of Meissen. An insider tip for cyclists.
Very nice staff and an extra good cook. All the dishes tried were a palate.

We celebrated our wedding in the Golden keg on 7.10.2017. We are still overwhelmed by the pleasant and absolutely professional support of the team around Mrs. Lancaster, our wedding planner for the organizer part. Whether it's a coffee round after the wedding ceremony, the grand celebration from 6pm with 60 people, or the lovingly furnished rooms — everything was just perfect. We would never have expected so much dedication and professionalism. A huge thank you also to the (anyway so) star chef and The Nice, loving waitresses, which made us and our guests this grandiose course, the mood-laden party in the evening and the relaxing overnight stay possible. We celebrated our wedding here at the weekend and would like to thank the whole team very much. From the beginning we were super advised, our wishes were addressed and everyone was always friendly. All guests were really enthusiastic about the service, the ambience and especially the food. And we as newlyweds were more than satisfied. So our day has become unforgettable for us and the team of the Golden Barrel has a big part to play in this. Thank you for that!

Wonderful hotel. Very kind, warm and professional staff (also speaking english and french). Fantastic welcome. Vast and stylish bedrooms, well furnished with everything you'll need. Very comfortable bed + Possibility of sauna (highly recommended), spa-bath and balcony on the room. Local food is served on the restaurant and for the amazing breakfast's buffet. If you're looking for wine, they also have a beautiful panel of local bottles.

Cosy rooms, stylish wellness area and fantastic cuisine make a stay at this family hotel with views of the Meissen's old town and Albrechtsburg Castle real recommendation.
Parking in the area save time and nerves, and the staff is friendly and competent.
Completely satisfied and happy to be back!

Full marks with asterisk! From the spacious, bright and cozy room on the very individual and creatively designed wellness area on the wonderful cuisine and the excellent breakfast you feel on many small details that one is welcome as a guest. The overall impression is rounded off by the friendliness and competence of the employees.
The House can be loosely with large well-known much star hotels like Ritz, etc. Measure, except that you will be treated very exclusive and with much individuality in the Golden barrel — nothing off the rack or from the wholesale market here…
Once again, also the price level is more than adequate.

Nice atmosphere, great breakfast, all in all it's good!

Night very well liked. For a three-star hotel, breakfast, excellent. Genuine friendly staff. As much Reiser with access to group intercompany Council of large hotel chains I find the prices but ambitious. For the price paid, I would have also in Dresden in the Maritim like to stay can.

Hefty prices!
In Berlin, you pay even in the city centre at the tourist resorts definitely less. The service could be accelerated somewhat, we were waiting for our food totally hungry almost an hour…

I don't understand the rating. We had already twice super food to a reasonable accordingly somewhat higher price. Operation very friendly helpful udn. Super, so, again and again.
One of the few really good restaurants in Meissen.

Soup too salty (was with "I give it further" to taken, no excuse, no indemnity), salad tasted like vinegar, rump roast was stringy and coffee at the end was also unterwältigend. Staff was friendly but laaaaaaaangsam.
