We were in the Schmausemühle over the weekend. What a wonderful spot on earth. The staff are all super nice, the room small but fine with very good breakfast and the food was delicious. If you like hiking and live in a small hotel run with love, this is the right place ♥️. We are very happy to come back.

My parents visited the Schmausemühle near Gondershausen and Beltheim from the 1970s. Now, at almost fifty, I finally made it and ate fantastically. I come more often now…

A great place to relax, a fantastic location deep in the romantic Baybach valley. The hotel is well-appointed with great attention to detail. Beautiful also the garden and the outdoor facilities. Nice and friendly staff. The food is simply great and tasty. 100 points for the Schmausemühle!

Great location, very good food (from salad, soup, the very good trout to dessert) and drinks, very nicely designed inside and out. Service ranks between very friendly and courteous to something very busy-under-cooled (when paying), so actually 4, 5 stars, if it were possible … Of course, it is still worth a visit at any time.

A very great idyllic Hotel Restaurant. The Ambience and Food invite you to linger longer. Ideal for stopping after a Hike, or just like that. Very easy to reach by Car. Maybe in nice Weather, if you are travelling with several People, make a reservation.

In the middle of a ravine, the converted mill. Hotel and restaurant and café with outdoor gastronomy.
Ideal for hikers as a stop, but also accessible by car, on a very narrow path where oncoming traffic can become a problem.
We were there for coffee, we liked that. Very nice service and delicious cake.

We know the mill from our hikes. We quartered Jetz in the mill room.

Great rooms decorated with attention to detail. There is no standard here. The bed linen like home, super mattresses, just everything made a little better with love.
The food was great, even here with attention to detail. Trout freshly smoked, wild boar roast and for the woman a vegetarian delicacy.
Friendly, attentive staff.
Breakfast was sensational! Everything was lovingly done on fresh wind herbs. A dream!
Summary: I have seen many many hotels in my life, something like here you rarely experience.
We will be back even though we live only 40km away. Here is a small oasis to relax and feel good about.
Nice that there is still such a thing.

A very nice excursion place where you can stop after a hike. The terrace is nicely designed and the service staff was very friendly.

Very nice hotel. Great location in the middle of the Baybachklamm. Absolutely great food. Trout Breakfast buffet an eye and palate delight.

Unfortunately now for the second time had bad luck with the food. The first time the pork schnitzel was completely grown and the second time the wild boar goulash consisted mostly of fat. Unfortunately no good quality for the price. The encampments and drinks were very good every time.

Was OK, the portions were relatively small.

We hired for a Weekend. Hotel room is as depicted in I-Net: Cozy, 2 Cots, everything works, great Bathroom, WI-FI. Breakfast excellent. Food in the Restaurant delicious and inexpensive. My Wife praised the Trout! On Saturday evening a nice Torchlight Hike through the Baybach Valley followed by rustic Food. The Staff is very friendly!
Overall, a really nice Weekend. On Saturday still committed the nearby Geierley Bridge, still visited on the Sunday On the way Back Burg Eltz (seems to be closed in Winter).

Perfect in every Way. Eating very very well and setting Up a highlight. The Toilets so original that I would like them to be at home …

Super Atmosphere delicious Food especially your own Fish and your own Herbs. Food lovingly prepared and served. Very friendly and attentive Service. The entire Restaurant and Hotel has a great Flair and is lovingly designed. It just fits everything and can only be recommended. Unfortunately, only 5 Stars could be awarded would have earned even more.

We've been going there since I Was a kid (30 Years). It's always an Experience. The Food is delicious and the adjacent Stream and Forest a Dream.

Beautiful location, though kinda difficult to get to.

Absolutely idyllic, away from the Hotel and the Restaurant. Great kitchen and good, nice Service. My Tip: herbs, trout fresh from the pond on the Baybach. In Winter as in summer always worth a walk. In the summer on the large terrace and in the Winter the open fireplace in the guest lounge. Easy class.

The first visit was about 20 years ago. On a hike through the Bay Valley, we here are returned and have fallen in love in the candy mill. With the years everything has become even more beautiful and modern and the hosts with the staff so nice and friendly as ever. The most important thing after a long walk: The food tastes and is lovingly decorated with fresh herbs.

The schnitzel is highly recommended…

Very beautiful and idyllic location directly on the Bay Creek. The service leaves nothing to be desired. It is working very much with fresh things from our own garden. The food is beautifully arranged and delicious. Here you can dangle the soul and great feast and enjoy life with all your senses.

Very well located and well maintained Hotel with good kitchen.

I find the bed to be commended. It is manageable and cozy, The menu is not overloaded, There are regional delicious dishes at affordable prices. The service is nice, friendly and competent. Highly recommended are the fresh-caught trout from our own pond behind the house. The Location is adjacent to beautiful Hiking trails.
