The rating is only about the restaurant.
I have the great fortune 5-6 times a year to stay briefly at the Lake Rursee. I almost always land in the hotel Paulushof, because during the week and especially in the dark season there are hardly any alternatives in Rurberg directly.
We are not talking about weekends or other times where there is a high-powered operation, but always during the week.
The location of the hotel directly on the lake is very nice. There are plenty of parking spaces. The ambiance corresponds to the zeitgeist of the 1980s, but is well maintained. The Internet presence is likely to be updated, there is no online card and via iOS I can select the menu item restaurant, but nothing happens.
One thing, the quality of the food is fine. No matter if starter, main course or dessert. The value for money is at the upper limit. Especially for the soup of the day or a self-made side salad from the It might be like a euro less sometimes. In dessert as well.
The staff regarding my experience unfortunately are less good. In most cases the restaurant is barely occupied if I stop there during the week. Perhaps the crux is also here. Because often in life it is the case that you run to maximum performance when you are properly challenged.
Because you don't get a seat, you sit there where you're free. But you are also looked at in a questionable way, perhaps, because I am alone? And so I am not allowed to sit on the window? Or because the table may be reserved for house guests with half-board? Why is there no "reserved" sign?
I have now been able to experience several operations, and it is always the same problem that these people always perform only one activity. Once the order has been taken, it will be entered into the computer before you can see if you are able to take orders somewhere else. We are happy to remember the ordered drinks, but they are delayed to the table in time. According to the motto: one after the other.
The attention could also be better, so the restaurant has already not been able to sell one or the other drink because it has not been asked or overlooked.
Also, the restaurant staff seems to be responsible for the hotel's reception. Therefore, if there is a service force in the restaurant and it is bound by hotel activities, this can lead to delays.
Conclusion: The food is OK and you do not have to change many adjustment screws in order to ensure a constant service quality in the long term. A second backup will of course cost money and on days where there is little operation, it does not pay off immediately. But in the long term, regular customers could be better tied. Also it is better to identify in the map which dishes salad belongs to and which not. (Since the prices are at the upper limit anyway, you should consider making the salad command available to everyone, or to react flexibly at least during the week, so that the rests of the buffet do not have to be threwed).
