What a bad experience staying overnight in this hostel. I stayed for two nights in a one person / single bed room with bathroom and toilet in it. I checked in on Saturday afternoon, paid my due directly via credit card, plus the deposit for the magnetic card to enter my room. I put my luggage and my backpack in my room before left to the city centre to do some shopping. After the shopping and dinner I went back to my room, put my shopping bags, took a shower and went out to the city centre again. After midnight, I went back to the hostel in order to get rest, but surprisingly I couldn’t enter my room! I tried to use the magnetic card as usual, but it didn't work because I saw that the doorhandle was hanging down. It was BROKEN! It seemed that somebody tried to open the door forcibly. I reported this directly to the man who was working at the reception, but he couldn't do anything but waiting for the technician to come after 9am. I said that I have an appointment at 10am so I need a good rest, took a shower and wear nee clothes. All my personal belongings were in the room, including the saline solution liquid for my soft lense, which I really need to use it before going to bed. I made it clear that I wanted a better solution than just waiting in the lobby! Then he apologized for this incident, offered me a refund for that night (which never happened till now! ) and he offered me another room to sleep for a few hours before the technician comes after 9am. I accepted this offer because I had no choice. So finally I had to sleep in a 5 persons room which wasn't cleaned up yet, without bathroom and toilet. The bed was unmade, so I had to make my own bed too, at 3am in the morning! And of course I couldn't sleep well, with my soft lenses still in my eyes which made my eyes pretty dry and very sticky, I also thinking about all my belongings, money, documents, shoppings, etc. In the other room! And for all this I had to pay 100% bill (no refund as promised! ). The next morning I went down the lobby to ask if they have fixed the door, but no, it hasn't fixed yet. They offered me a free breakfast (a few slices bread, jam and a glass of milk), which I took it as I couldn't do anything but accepting their offer. Finally they managed to drill the wall and opened the door into my room at 9:30am. Luckily my belongings were intact, but I wouldn't be able to lock the door anymore. As I stayed there for two nights, I had no other choice than to put everything in the locker temporarily as my new room hadn't been prepared yet until afternoon (I even had to pay 5 euro deposit for this). I feel that I deserved a better compensation for this. I paid my due and behaved properly as guess, didn't cause any trouble, and didn't cause the incident, but yet I had to suffer from it without any refund. The staffs were helpful indeed, but I just expect a better compensation which didn't happen.
