What do I recommend? Everything! We just had an absolutely dreamy, beautiful and relaxing time in Stolberg, and we couldn’t have wished for a better place to stay. The buildings are very old, arranged around a yard, and upon entering you are greeted by the wonderful sight of the old yellow postcoach, which is parked inside the yard, — and Max, the lazy tomcat And of course by the Kirchners, who own the place and who can’t do enough for you! They helped us literally with everything, giving advice and making suggestions, as well as filling us in into the history of the German Postservice, for which those coaches were running. The room was big and bright and we had a whole floor to ourselves, incl. A kitchenette. The breakfast room was GORGEOUS! Wooden beams everywhere, with an old, large stone oven and lovingly decorated, we looked forward to breakfast every day, which was large and yummy. Good continental breakfast with various rolls, meats, cheese, jam, cereal and eggs The Posthalterei also lies very Central in the long winding town of Stolberg — perfect to discover the town from every angle. Our highlight was of course our own ride in the yellow postcoach. It almost didn’t happen, as we were only 2 and you need 6 people and upwards for a ride, but Frau Kirchner made it happen for us nonetheless We LOVED our stay there and can only recommend it whole heartedly❣️ And a huge thank-you again to the Kirchners, who were wonderful hosts!
