Hotel Oderberger

The pool water is advertised as 26°C, but it feels a bit cooler than expected. It's not cold, and if you're swimming, it’s fine, but if you're just walking around or looking to relax, it might feel a bit chilly.
There are no designated swimming lanes, which can make the experience chaotic. You'll depend on others to be mindful of their surroundings, and you also need to stay alert. If you're there to swim, it feels like a bit of a gamble—sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.
The pool itself is decent, although you’ll notice some mold in certain areas. To be fair, it’s not terrible, but it's worth mentioning. One thing that could improve the overall cleanliness is making swim caps mandatory—there tends to be hair floating in the water, which can be off-putting.
The women’s changing room is small, with limited space. It also could use a good cleaning, as there were balls of hair scattered on the floor. The showers had mold and dirt buildup, which was disappointing.
For €10, considering this is part of a luxury hotel, the experience was acceptable but just barely. It's on the edge of being "okay, " but there’s definitely room for improvement.

I am reviewing the pool and the interaction with the reception staff. The pool is nice, and it was not overcrowded when we were there. However, for the 20/25 people there, there were 12 lounge chairs. I cannot imagine what it is like to lie down and relax when it is crowded. If you cannot get a sun chair, you have the option to sit straight on a hospital-like wooden bench. I have not tried it, but it did not look very relaxing. As regards the staff at the reception, I have interacted with them both at an event a couple of days prior as well as for the visit of the pool. They are unfriendly and not interested at all in their customers. For an expensive boutique hotel you would at least expect a smile and a how may I help you when you stand in front of them. First and last time at the pool, and I will definitely not be trying the hotel for my guests.

Hotel Oderberger exceeded all expectations! The service was outstanding, with staff going above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. The stunning pool area, set in the beautifully restored bathhouse, was a true highlight—a tranquil retreat in the heart of Berlin. Our room was elegant and comfortable, and the breakfast buffet was fresh, delicious, and diverse. Located in vibrant Prenzlauer Berg, the hotel is perfect for exploring the city. We can’t wait to return—Hotel Oderberger is a gem!

I could not think of a finer choice to stay in Berlin. The room was cozy, yet stylish. It’s a perfect combination of comfort and elegance, without being pretentious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool and sauna were a nice treat. The location is hard to beat, on a lovely street in a nice neighborhood, with a number of trams and trains nearby. I’d be very happy to stay here again.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Hotel, It's in a great area of town, good sized rooms, good shower and great bar. However, were really disappointed that the pool was closed the whole time we were there due to a corporate function. The Pool policy is very unfair to guests who book well in advance and pool availability is only posted on their website two weeks ahead of time and needless to say it is not front of mind to go and check it. It is a pretty disingenuous policy. I believe all guests should be notified if the pool is going to be closed in advance of their stay. We booked in April and, without doubt, this major corporate event would have been booked into the the system at least 3 months before. I believe we should have been notified and given the choice to stay or go. As the pool and spa were a major reason for choosing the hotel, we were very disappointed. I recommend the hotel considers the hotel guests a little more in future.

Very nice hotel — stayed here to watch our daughter run Berlin marathon. Near to tram and train and good restaurants, decent size room — it fit a rollaway bed for our other daughter for one night. Pool was very nice — although we thought it would be heated, not sure what temp it was, but it was not warm!

If you are looking for a pool to swim year round in Berlin, this is the easy choice while most public pools are on and off with the opening time. Would be nice if they increase the temperature to 28.26 is just way too cold for the kids.

The pool is beautiful. That’s the only good thing about it.
The water was rather cold and to pay 9€ for a time slot (as non guest) and 10€ for a towel is ridiculous. The absolute lack of shame to ask 10€ for renting a towel… very disappointed by this attitude.

Super Location — we stayed over a week and so many travel, park, food and drinks options nearby. Wish I didn’t buy breakfast in advance. While it was good, it was unvaried, and also my teenager son didn’t make it to bfast most of the time so that could not be refunded and a bit frustrating. Liked the pool, our room where we kept the windows open and the quaint terrace. Browsed the little library and found some things to peruse. Used the laundromat across the street which was super convenient as we are traveling for a month throughout Germany. And very close and walkable to a local beer garden and many fun parks!

I love this hotel and go as often as I can. It's in a really interesting neighbourhood, near good independent shops and places to eat. It's within easy walking distance of the U-Bahn, or a tram. It's full of history. The pool is brilliant and the sauna is good too. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Breakfast is great. But it's rooms that are the icing on the cake, the Premium rooms are really good and amazing value. It's not in the centre of Berlin but it's well worth making the effort; it's really good.

Yikes! (This is just about the pool facility).
As previous reviewers have said forget about serious lengths, it's too small. It's pretty enough but that doesn't offset the disadvantages. I booked a swim online. I wanted the sauna too but there was no added option so assumed it was included. It wasn't and I only found that out after a swim and a search… the saunas on another floor… and a climb back to reception, back down to changing room and back up to pool. Yes the layout is as insane as that and worse when you have a sprained ankle, my reason for this "treat". The changing rooms are so small as to be close to unusable. Can't imagine what it's like when busy. Water is cool but that's ok in a Berlin summer and I made my peace with a swim only. But all those guests who missed using it due to events or random shutdowns, you really didn't miss anything except a lot of stair climbing. It's not awful and it's clean but I've been in far better (and more architecturally interesting) facilities in supposedly lower class hotels and sports clubs. However the zinger came at the end when I wasn't given my deposit back. Forgot about it and the returned 15 minutes later (a lot of extra walking on a sprain) to be treated with intense suspicion. They 'always' give the deposit back. No you don't. I stayed pleasant but had to open my wallet to 'prove' my point. God knows what would've happened if I had another €10. Left a very bad taste.

It has been about 4 years but this hotel is great. Because it is associated with the International language school that owns the hotel and the buildings around it, the 2nd floor has meeting rooms. The building is historically significant and honors its past but with modern technology added into all the rooms. A mix of old, distressed, and new contemporary. The restaurant/breakfast is eye-boggling as well as delicious. Very unique place and in a neighborhood that gives you a real feeling of Berlin. Transportation nearby and bicycles everywhere.
