Reviews of 2A Hostel
The studio apartment smelled clean but was not. The advertised dishes and cookware were encrusted with food from previous guests’ use. A bizarre system is in place — there is a hob for cooking but nowhere to wash dishes. Guests are meant to leave dirty dishes and pots on a rack IN THE HALLWAY. These are picked up once a day. Yuck. I scrubbed at the filth on the pot and bowl and had to use the sink IN THE BATHROOM. Disgusting experience. I was prepared to overlook this. In the morning however, I went to shower and there was a massive insect circling the shower basin. Nope. Then I decided to do a deep dive. I stripped the bed and the mattress was FILTHY. We left that day and will be getting a refund. Never again. I am writing this review as a warning to potential visitors. The area, Neukölln is a mix of gritty and pretty. We found a beautiful park — Körnerpark and an excellent restaurant called Holi Cow. We would definitely return to Neukölln but it is certainly an area for the more open-minded and seasoned traveller. I actually loved the area but the Apartmenthaus was truly revolting.

Located too close to the railway station, there is no air conditioner available; only a large fan is provided. Since we were visited during the summer, the only fan is not enough, too hot. And if you want to open the window for air circulation, you will not be able to sleep properly because the train station noises are directly approaching your room.
The good thing is that they provided a small, proper kitchen with a quite standard and usable kitchenette. Additionally, the location is conveniently close to the supermarket and train station for easy mobility.
