We had an amazing stay and look forward to returning when we can stay longer. Excellent hospitality from Marco and everyone from check-in to check-out. The entire property is beautiful and there is art everywhere. We enjoyed our dinner but breakfast was exceptional.
This hotel flies under the radar but it shouldn't. It is a high-end hotel in a beautiful location and decently priced, what is there not to like. We stayed in the superior rooms in the Vorburg, which were large, nicely furnished and equipped with air-conditioning. A nice touch was that the price in the minibar was the same as their wine store and even other things were unusually well priced.
The only thing missing was the ability to walk around the property since there still was work ongoing on the grounds, but my understanding was that will finish soon.
I would also not put too high expectations on the Amtshaus restaurant. Based on previous reviews we had really high hopes, but it turned out to be just average. If you eat there you are probably better off with some of the more basic and traditional instead of a 4-course menu that we had booked. Save the fancy restaurant for the fancy food. :) Unfortunately we stayed there the wrong day of the week, so we didn't get the chance to try Le Frankenberg. But perhaps that is a good reason to come back, which likely we will if we are in the area.

Schloss Frankenberg was the first stop on an 8-person family tour of Germany. It was a little palatial paradise — even in the extraordinary heat wave that had set in. The staff thoughtfully placed us in air conditioned rooms and provided us with waters and extra helping hands to get our luggage and people to where they needed to go. Each morning, we had an incredible breakfast in the ballroom with delightful, and patient, service. With three kids under 12 with us, this was especially appreciated! The children had a great time exploring the castle's dungeon walkways, the grounds, and looking at all of the artifacts. Truly, a gem hiding out in Weigenheim, Germany. We would love to return again in the future, if the opportunity presents itself.
