Very tasty, local food. Friendly people. In all, a very satisfying experience.

We have been in the Alt-Ringlein three times now and so far we actually liked it quite well. Unfortunately, this time our car was "too high" for the garage, although we were allowed to park there on our last visits. Another car, which was obviously higher than ours, was nevertheless allowed in, which suggests a certain arbitrariness.
The breakfast offer has also decreased somewhat, although the lady in the breakfast room has tried to replenish the manageable selection regularly or on request.

For us it will probably have been the last visit there, because the hotel is centrally located, but it is also very noisy. Since my father is also getting worse on foot and you can't seem to be able to park in the garage, we will have to look for a more reliable hotel when it moves us into the beautiful Bamberg.

Excellent experience all around. Literally in the center of the city, everything within walking distance. Clean room and decent breakfast.

Fantastic little hotel in the very heart of it all! But mattresses could do with an upgrade, especially for a larger individual.

Great Location and great hotel, but neighborhood can be noisy on weekends and holidays.

The food is really very good for reasonable prices and was especially served super fast! Especially the sour roast was as good as it hasn't been in a long time!

The Schäuferla is very tasty and priced in the middle segment by Bamberg standards. But other dishes are excellent, too. Special requests are made courteously. The staff very gracious, lovingly cares for their guests and is exemplary in dealing with children. A children's chair was provided and a menu to paint including pens were brought. Nor do you have anything against dogs. The atmosphere is cosy and rustic. We'll be happy to come back!

The big plus with this restaurant is the location. The Hotel/Restaurant is located in the middle of Bamberg's Old Town, within walking distance of most of the city's tourist destinations. We were just for food in the beer garden, so I can't judge the hotel. The food is OK, just like the price. The service is fast and friendly. As is often the case at the hotspots, everything is OK, but not extraordinary. Hence three stars.

Super Haxen, Super Svhäuferla. Much better than the Kachelofen in front that lost in quality.

Competent and friendly controls, however, are very positively poked out by Mrs. Christine H. … thick praise, one no longer finds very often.

Super attentive and nice controls, and this at peak times. Eating very quickly there and very tasty. Top!

Good Franconian food in the middle of the old town of Bamberg. Different kind of people.

Very central location, room clean, good breakfast, parking garage (€10 extra).
But at night noise through direct neighbourhood to the restaurant Schlenkerla with smoked beer-outside. However, earplugs are provided in the room.

Great hotel in the middle of Bamberg City centre. The rooms were clean and contained all the necessary amenities. The staff were very serviceminded and helpful. In general, a good place to stay.

Wir hatten ein Doppelzimmer es war sehr gemütlich. Das Bad war ebenfalls sehr schön und elegant eingerichtet. Einziger Minuspunkt ist, dass unser Zimmer an einem schmalen Fußgängerweg liegt, wodurch es nachts sehr lange laut war. Sonst kann ich das Hotel nur empfehlen.

Slight weaknesses in the beds (only for backs — and abdominal sleepers) and the parking situation.

I always stay here when in Bamberg. It's in the center of town. Great service, good breakfast, and really good rates, what now do you want…

Lovely old hotel, our wing was built in 1301! Great brekky and fantastic service. Very good English.

Very nice service. Not much choice on the menu. It lacks smaller dishes, like bread. Beverage selection is OK. The prices are high for Bamberg, just a tourist shack. Example is a pair of sausages for just under 9 euros. The ambiance is cozy. The location was excellent. The food was fine but not outstanding.

The location within walking distance to many of Bamberg's attractions is superseded by the quality of outstanding customer service received. The complimentary Wi-Fi and Frühstück were welcome additions to our stay and contributed to time savings. We'll Be Back…

+ Central location in Bamberg's Old town — eating mediocre — many tourists — coffee for dessert mediocre (typical tavern-cappuccino) — dishes for Franconian conditions rather small.
Conclusion: A visit to the inns in the immediate vicinity is worthwhile here!

Perfect location in the middle of the old town! Very good for travelers with car, as own garage available. Rooms very comfortable and clean. Breakfast OK. The coffee could be better.

Comfortable room right in the heart of the old town and across from the legendary smoked beer brewery, Schlenkerla. Good value, tasty breakfast and helpful staff.

We were very excited about the location because you are in the middle of the action. The rooms were very clean and well maintained. Breakfast, everything you would like. However, it is very noisy in the evenings and at night (on weekends). But this is also described on the homepage of the hotel. We can still recommend it, you just have to know if you prefer to spend quiet days or to be right on the spot.
A positive remark: it is pleasant to arrive by car, as there is an underground garage, which is not always the case in Bamberg.

Realy good food and beer. Fast and nice staff. Ambience is amazing.

Good reception room impeccable prefer the restaurant of the hotel rather than that of the tavern opposite… Have a drink to see the place and the atmosphere but avoid to eat there because not terrible/the Retau of the hotel is quite well.

Beer, wine and sparkling wines are permitted by law from 16 years. Unfortunately only from 18, which I can not understand! Staff not very friendly either. Not recommended. What a pity.

We loved the city of Bamberg and enjoyed our stay at the Alt Ringlein Hotel. It is very well located, the room is quite spacious, the bathroom is not very large. Breakfast is rich and varied. The city is very lively in the evening and the streets quite noisy but it is part of the scenery…
The complaint we have to make is the lack of parking reserved for the residents of the hotel. Only vehicles less than 1, 50m high can access a garage…

Fantastic stay at the Alt Ringlein! The hotel is in an excellent location in the centre of historic Bamberg, located near many sites, restaurants and breweries. The room was impeccable and the one meal we had in the hotel restaurant was delicious (there are also some fabulous beers on tap! ). Breakfast was also decent. Lovely hotel.

Went to the restaurant under the hotel and enjoyed it immensely. Cozy and historic. Great local faire.

Great location and very friendly, helpful staff. Nice rooms, good restaurant, but was a lot of noise and light from street even during midweek stay as room was directly across from large brewery/restaurant (schlenkerla, a very good one). Maybe some rooms are quieter depending on position.

The schäufela was super tasty as well that offered e beer. Good price performance ratio.

We stayed 2 nights in the old ring. I can recommend this hotel without hesitation. The rooms are comfortable and the service is top. The location could not be better. Leaving the hotel, standing immediately in the sand road.
The breakfast offers a super selection and the staff is friendly and competent. Thank you for the wonderful time.

We were two to four nights. It is unfortunately regrettable having no way to get a table in the restaurant in the evening as a guest. Half a year you must book supposedly in advance. The rooms, which we have obtained are very in need of renovation. The staff is not unfriendly.
The hotel has the advantage that it is located directly in the city centre.

I was 2 nights at the hotel old ring, Bamberg. The location draws something in the years of the
lost rooms. The beer garden and restaurant have good level with friendly staff. Price — performance agreed here. The breakfast was okay, varieties but with sausage packaged some of the, cheese, butter, margarine and jam. The demand was rejected directly after a fried egg. To praise the range of breads from the bakery is at breakfast.

Stayed here 16 – 18 JAN 15. Very nice hotel in the heart of Bamberg. Comfortable spacious rooms, fast Wifi, a large sumptuous breakfast, underground parking, very friendly staff, excellent priced and you can walk anywhere from here. The adjoining restaurant served delicious meals and local beers. The staff was friendly, helpful and the service fast.

Hotel : Great Location. Everything in walking distance. Great welcome committee (Max the dog! ) Good Breakfast. Very affordable and easy parking garage. We had such a great time we decided to stay another night. I highly recommend this hotel and highly recommend a visit to Bamberg!

Worst Schäuferla ever. Meat was dry and hard. Sauerbraten was ok, and the Zanderfilet also ok buy a bit salty for my taste. Overall I would NOT recommend this place for traditional food from Franconia.

This is an ideally located hotel with tons of charm smack in the center of old Bamberg. It's a lively area, full of students chatting and drinking and flirting, but the Alt-Ringlein's double-glazed windows kept the noise out of the room, and the fan kept me cool all night. We had a good meal at the restaurant with its well-priced, delicious specialties and prompt service. I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Bamberg is beautiful and well deserves its UNESCO World Heritage status.
