Villa Breitenberg

We spent six days at Villa Breitenberg over the turn of the year. It was exactly as we had hoped: wonderfully relaxed and quiet, reduced to the essentials, excellent cuisine and the right mix of warmth, courteous advice when requested and detachment from the two hosts. We have rarely slept so well in a strange place and enjoyed the days very much — thank you very much!

The two owners have renovated the former villa with great attention to detail and the necessary amount of taste. Inside and outside. Our room was large enough, the furniture was high quality and carefully chosen. So much for the obvious things. We were surprised by the restaurant. We didn't expect this quality. Lovingly prepared dishes with seasonal ingredients — but not on Mondays and Tuesdays. The extensive and exciting wine list completes the picture. Great… it doesn't get much better than that. And the breakfast — when the weather is nice on the terrace with a wonderful view — leaves nothing to be desired. This is how we imagine relaxation.

The friendly hosts with excellent cuisine and a fine wine selection. To relax and do nothing perfectly.

The Villa Breitenberg is also in spite of the difficult Corona conditions, a absolute place of rest, to let the soul dangle. The hosts spoiled us at any time of the day with special culinary delights, especially the vegetarian menus in the evening were delicious. Stylish and individually decorated rooms and creaking floorboards made for a unique atmosphere, the wonderful view of the valleys of the Bohemian forest, could only underscore. All of the hygiene measures could easily be complied with, and an obstacle to a were at no time able vacation.

Individual, modernly designed rooms. Very clean.
A great, high quality breakfast.
The sauna can be booked for use alone, including a cosy relaxation room, towels and bathrobes.
We and our two dogs felt very comfortable.

Wonderful, warmly run villa with good food. The vegetarian menu was particularly delicious. You can sit at a long table with the other guests if you want. The rooms are stylishly furnished and the view of the gentle valley of the Bohemian Forest is a delight. A true place for the soul. We'll be back!

A place to relax, Indulge and Enjoy. It almost feels like being in a Thomas Mann novel. Breakfast and dinner take in the best of company and entertainment and is simply delicious. We will certainly be back!

We went with our Bavarian friends to this small villa hotel that could easily stand in Scotland. There was a set menu with a choice of main courses, a salad starter with an amazing dressing, a lamb stew that was set on the table in a Terrine to be ladled on your plate, and a homemade dessert.
Available also were organic beer, wine and champagne, so we could keep to our new policy of only eating and drinking organic …

I was travelling on my own from England and stayed in this delightful Villa. It is lovely inside clean and fresh with a few antique pictures and modern paintings. The 2 gentlemen that own the house are so kind, delightful and make everything a pleasure. When there is an evening meal served (not every evening) it was full of surprises. 3 course vegetarian or traditional dinner. My guests and I ate outside under the umbrellas. Delicious wines and digestif of woods of the forest.
Breakfast is wonderful, breads, lovely preserves, meats, cheeses, salads and fruits, yogurts and muesli. Eggs if you wish. All beautifully presented.
There are wide corridors upstairs with airy bedrooms simply furnished but wonderfully comfortable beds and first class bedding.
The villa is situated high up in the landscape so the views are wonderful. You could relax in a swimming costume on the deckchairs here as the ambiance is informal and you soon feel at home. There are elements of humour if you look carefully like a rubber crocodile in the water trough; this with exceptional good taste makes a lovely stay. Can't wait to return. There is a very tranquil atmosphere as if it were once a monastery but I learnt that it was once a small hospital in a house.
