Westküste Lindau

When we arrived to this hostel, the key waited us on the notice board, but when we got to our room, it was dirty and we didn't even have enough sheets for three people. I called to the number, that was given, but no answer. I also send an e-mail.
Then we went to explore the city, and I expected that someone would call me back or read my e-mail. Nothing. We went back and the room was in same condition as before. I called again multiple times and finally I sent an e-mail, that we are leaving. Then I happend to see someone, that I thought was a cleaner. She didn't speak english/german, but she got there someone, who did. He said he is not the owner, nor does he work there, but all the sudden things started to happen. We got our room cleaned, and because it was getting late, and we had a child with us, we decided to stay.
When we were leaving, there was a lady in reception, but she didn't ask, did we enjoy our staying… She must have known about our situation, but she didn't regret to that, either. Also we had to pay by cash and we had to ask for receipt, which she did give to us, but it was handwritten.
So overall, not a very pleasent experience and definitely not well organized place.
Obviously I don't recommend this place.

I stayed for two nights in a six-bed room and had a really nice experience. The rooms were clean, there were menstrual pads available in the bathroom and I even got a free towel (which most hostels charge you for). As for the location, I could reach everywhere on foot and there was a bus stop close to the hostel as well. The reception wasn't available when I got here, but they left me my key. It was easy to get around the rooms/facilities (there's a little Kochnische with a kettle, a mini fridge and a microwave) on my own and check-in officially the next morning. The owners also gave me some tips on the Strandbäder in Lindau and were really friendly.
