Amazing stay at Boutique Hotel Werdenfelserei! The location is perfect—right by a charming little river and just a short walk through a lovely park to the cozy town center with great shops and restaurants.
The rooms are beautiful and feel really luxurious, and the rooftop pool with mountain views is absolutely stunning—definitely a highlight.
Breakfast was incredible as well, with a huge selection of fresh, high-quality options.
Everything about this place was spot on. Would 100% recommend and happily come back!

Werdenfelserei exceeded our every expectation. It really does manage to strike the right balance in offering a polished, spa-centred stay for couples and families alike. We stayed in a spa suite for four days and wished we had planned for a full week. From the moment we found our parking space reserved for us on arrival, to being greeted with treats and bubbly, to the bottle of wine and send off bag, we felt totally looked after. Breakfast is a wide spread of cheeses, meats, cured and smoked fish, veggies and fruits, yogurt and jams, pastries and breads galore. The “light” lunch is an array of salads, soups and a warm entree. Dinner is bright and sensual with all sorts of local flavour and colour. The spa experience is well-designed and does the trick — gorgeous outdoor pool for soaking and taking in the alpine views, a round of sauna and steam rooms, and a warm, quiet lounge area which we referred to as the Nap Room. Finally, the location is perfect for exploring both the town and the absolutely top notch hiking nearby. This was the autumnal holiday we were dreaming of. Highly recommend the spa suite for a splurge. Can’t wait to come back — for skiing next time!

Fabulous hotel in Southern Germany, the Alpine area in Garmisch, DE. Very "Alpine-like" architecture, made of wood, and beautiful. Very rustic area, heavy forest, rainy … all the food at the restaurant was amazing, local German Alpine area cuisine. Service first class, rooms super comfy. Would definitely go back, and likely will when traveling to that area! Highly recommend Werdenfelserei!

I wish I could add an additional star to Hotel Werdenfelserei, as it truly deserves it. The room (it was a suite) was impeccable in every respect: the bed and the mattress, the linings, the shower, the decor, the balcony overlooking a park across the stream, room cleanliness, coffee — everything was next to perfect.
The breakfast is an experience by itself. It's much easier to spell what wasn't there — nothing. The variety of food, the quality, the service, 2 juice machines, 3 coffee machines, selection of breads and so on. The food is with a local swing, of course. Yet somehow it fits various tastes and breakfast habits. I admit: one day we intentionally got up a bit earlier to enjoy the breakfast to its fullest. Excellent experience!
And having a very good Wurzelwerk restaurant on site adds to the experience (a separate well-deserved review).
After talking with Monica, the hotel's owner, we better understood the spirit and the emphasis on a team work, which always start from the leader!
The location is very good, the parking is convenient, the roof pool is quite, the SPA is spacious and will equipped.
The only suggestion I have is about the SPA. We wanted to have a massage one day and it was impossible to find somebody who manages the schedule. We moved between the hotel reception (not much help) and the spa reception (nobody was there) and eventually gave up.
Boutiquehotel Werdenfelserei pays back an excellent value for your money.

This hotel is truly exceptional. The breakfast is incredibly delicious and wide ranging catering to all tastes. The staff were extremely professional. The spa is a delight with a beautiful open air rooftop pool two saunas and a steam room. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Wonderful hotel in a picturesque location! Plentiful breakfast with variety and well prepared dinners. Very attentive staff which helped to make my birthday celebration complete. If you are in the area you should definitely visit Werdenfelserei! 🤩😊

I have to share my story despite not being a guest at the hotel. My wife and I last month were doing a morning walk we saw the building we liked it and we went inside to have coffee and see the place in case we wanted to visit in the future. After the coffee we went back to where we were staying. I realized that I lost my wallet which had my ID two credit cards and around £800 worth of cash. I went back to the hotel lobby looking for the person who served us. Dorina came out running to me handing over my wallet with a if smile. I thanked her personally and I am sharing this story because she deserves all the recognition for being service oriented as well as ethical at the same time. My wife and I will go back to this place and will stay there indeed and it is because of Dorina.

Really beautiful hotel with super service. Spent Christmas 2024 here and only regret was we didn't stay for New Year. Christmas Eve dinner was really special. All the staff were attentive from the reception, restaurant to the cleaning staff. The hotel is close to the town and local amenities. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back. The snow arrived just in time for Christmas and so we had a special view from our room. (See below)

We stayed at Werdenfelserei for one night and immediately wished we had stayed longer! The hotel strikes a perfect balance between modern amenities and cozy charm, making it a wonderful retreat.
Our room was thoughtfully designed with every detail in mind. The beautiful balcony offered serene views, and the bathroom was exceptional, featuring a shower, standing tub, and multiple sinks—blending luxury with practicality.
The rooftop pool was absolutely stunning—a highlight of our stay—with breathtaking views and a peaceful ambiance. It was the perfect spot to relax and take in the beauty of Garmisch. The cocktails were fantastic, and we loved unwinding with a drink after a day of exploring. The breakfast spread was incredible, offering a wide variety of high-quality options to start the day perfectly.

This place is absolutely magical ✨ Gorgeous, relaxing hotel in the most perfect location. Delicious food, great service, beautiful rooms with balcony, fabulous bar and dining areas, gorgeous spa — really exceeded our expectations in every way! I absolutely want to come back!

This may have been my favorite hotel stay ever! This hotel is just gorgeous, there are endless unique and relaxing touches throughout and the staff was incredibly professional and kind. Clean, beautiful, relaxing, thoughtful. Can't wait to come again some day!

Gorgeous property in a great location. The suite was incredible and spacious, and we loved our time on the rooftop pool. Visited in October, so can only imagine how amazing the property and area is during ski season or summer.

Absolutely loved it! We only stayed one night but we will come back for sure. Breakfast was amazing, spa area felt premium and the dinner was a great experience.

I fell in love with this hotel. Everything here is well function. Location is the best. It is next to beautiful park and lovely creek and not far from train station. The owner is so kind and thoughtful. The service is wonderful. When we arrive at 12:00, they offer us free many delicious plenty breakfast that I have never had the wonderful experience like this before from other hotel. I think that the owner of this hotel must be kind and generous. I am impressed at lady with round black eye glasses at the check in counter, she is so kind and friendly. Wifi is perfect. Plenty of drinking water in our room. I am not wonder why this hotel is become no1 in Germany. If I can vote, I will vote this hotel no1 in the world. I stayed here three nights. I try to find something wrong of this hotel, but I can’t. Only thing I would like to suggest is they should have pick up service from the train station. From a full score of 10, I give them 9.8. I wish to come back to enjoy life here again and again. ❤️

TL;DR: this place is absolutely ✨ magical ✨ and you must stay here while in Garmisch. Ask for a room overlooking the park and creek, and for a bicycle tour from Maria Teresa.
Staying at this hotel was BY FAR my best hotel experience and we will definitely be back. The location, the dreamy views, the excellent staff, the charming wood construction, the top-notch spa and every little detail in between, this hotel has thought of and taken care of everything.
Every staff member was so generous and attentive, and specifically, we had excellent experiences with Maria Teresa (restaurant) and David and Joel (bartenders). We dined in the restaurant one evening (the chef’s creations are exquisite) and Maria Teresa was our server. We mentioned our desire to go bicycling the next day, and she is a cyclist, so she offered to take us on a tour of the town, and recommended a great bike rental shop. For 2 hours during her off-time, she showed us the most beautiful scenery I’ve ever seen. Words can’t express how thankful I am for the experience! Highly recommend finding the amazing Maria Teresa and asking her to show you around on bikes. Every evening, we relaxed in the bar. David and Joel are so friendly and made sure we had the best time. The cocktails they make are mixologist-quality and are out-of-this-world (try the Cuban Old Fashioned and Blueberry Sour). Their cappuccinos really hit the spot in the afternoon, too. These gentlemen are artists who know their craft.
