This is an amazing place, I was really amazed of the glacier lakes in Germany and this was one of them. If you have time I recommend you to stay there a couple hours. You can rent a paddle boat here or you can just lie on the towel and enjoy the water. We had a really good weather so it was needed to swim there.

This a beautiful place to visit. Tske a wonderful walk around the lake, swim, boat, float, play, there are 5 Lil islands to discover. Food and drink are available on one side of the lake. Parking is not very easy to find… Do come early, bike, hike or take the bus. This is defiantly a full day of fun!

Beautiful views. The road around the lake is 9 km. There are benches along the way.

A very beautiful mountain lake. The water is clear with incredible shades. Photo as from a postcard. The water is cool but you can swim. Were at the end of May. Parking 4euro for the whole day. There's a boat rental. About 10 euros an hour.

An insanely beautiful Path around the Lake. The View of the Lake is magnificent. Especially when the Sun is shining. The Flora is manifold in many ways.

Too busy, too touristic. Shame they built this massive Gondola up the Zugspitze. Lake is beautiful if you look at it from the right spot.

If you visit the Zugspitze, you should definitely allow time for a round around the Eibsee. You will not be disappointed and rewarded by captivantly beautiful views of the lake and the Zugspitze.

Beautiful place with a lot to see and do in the surrounding area. The trail around the lake is a well maintained gravel path that you can easily use a stroller on. We have been multiple times since we have been living in Germany and will go back again!

A great place for walking and biking. The path passes around the lake, in some places there are benches for rest. The water is crystal clear.

Very nice at sunrise, often unfortunately much too overrun by tourists during the day. It is nevertheless worthwhile for a day trip and a walk for example once around the lake or in the surrounding forests. In summer it is nice to find a quiet place and to go swimming, in winter also very impressive. The view of the Zugspitze is top and you can find beautiful motifs for photography everywhere. The Eibsee is always worthwhile for a visit, especially thanks to its good connection it is easily accessible for everyone.

A very beautiful place! Fascinating nature around the lake and very beautiful mountains! Nearby there is parking, also there is a place where it is possible to have a snack. You can comfortably stroll around the lake and make a lot of beautiful and colorful pictures! Recommend.

My Lieblingssee in Germany. Great circuit with great views. Nice for hiking or even in summer for swimming.

If you have a small dog, be careful! There are many ignorant people going for walks with big dogs that are not on the leash! I thought german people would act more responsible.

Magical scenery… the loop around is a great 2hr walk.

Be sure to visit this place, whichever time of year it was. We were here in winter-the view is amazing. And the nicest thing is that we were alone. I've only seen a couple of people walking with dogs. It is an ideal place for a picnic or just enjoying the nature.
To get from Garmisch-Partenkirhken, you can catch the blue bus, rides once an hour, the price is about 5 euros. The Bavarian ticket is not valid.

Nice location. Do not rush on a walk… you have to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Beautiful benches and adequate trash cans leave a good overall impression. Was fun, highly recommended.

The Eibsee, below the Zugspitze, is always a tourist experience.
The walk around the lake lasts about 1 1/2 to 2 hours. It is a forest trail that leads directly around the lake.
The lake reflects the Zugspitze and small islands make the lake romantic.
Parking spaces are always available.

Pure relaxation at the Eibsee. We enjoyed our time at the foot of the Zugspitze. Here you can either hike around the lake, swim in the lake or just take a pedalo over the lake. A breathtaking backdrop invites you to relax. Afterwards you can go to the restaurant, where you can still eat and drink. Ample parking spaces are also available.

A trip to the Eibsee is absolutely recommended due to the scenery.
In summer for swimming and paddling. In winter to extensive hikes around the lake.
It is not advisable to enter the ice. In summer it is worthwhile to stop by the lakeside promenade.

An extraordinary place for the beauty of the lake and the mountain overlooking it. I recommend to make the walk around the lake, very scenic.

One of my favourite lakes in Germany. Fantastic for a day of hiking, it will easily take you a few hours to walk all the way round at a leisurely pace. You can walk the entire circumference or wander along one of the many trails in the woods. The water is crystal clear and the views are outstanding. Most people tend to stay in the area of the hotel so even in mid summer you can easily find a quiet spot. There's a reasonably priced car park near the hotel which opens until fairly late.

Eibsee is a magical place. Just below the Zugspitze with a perfect view and wonderful nature all around it. Don’t try going there by car because it will be crowded and you will damage the nature there. You can walk around Eibsee. It might take you a couple of hours but it’s totally worth it. In summer the crystal clear water creates a perfect reflection of the mountains around Eibsee. One of the best places in Germany!

Very nice circular path, which is also suitable for strollers. In sum, very long. But feasible for children. Enough seating on the go. Also very beautiful view of the Zugspitze!

Wonderful lake, especially in fine weather. Unsure to pack swimsuits, we bathed in the lake (attention, really very refreshing! ) in the sunshine in front of the Zugspitz panorama. You may bring water shoes, as the shore is quite rocky. All in all, make sure to make a visit!

Excellent lake, great scenery. You can rent boat boats, sailboat, there is a restaurant… A nice place.

Excellent trail and views around the lake. At least 3-4 hours if you hike casually all the way around. Wear comfortable shoes and have camera charged and ready.

Gorgeous. An absolute must. Definitely pack swimsuits! On weekends in bathing weather quickly overflow with long traffic jams off Grainau. Therefore, it is best to start very early or very late.

Transparent Caribbean water. Many activities possible: swimming, pedaloes, kayaking, SUP, hiking, trekking, mountain biking…

Perfect place for swimming. You can take a mountain train to Zugspitze (need to take a cable car after the mountain train to go to mountain peak). Strongly recommanded to every kind of group.

Situated at the base of Zugspitze, Eibsee has fantastic views and is beautiful itself. The water is pristine and in the shallow sections looks like the Caribbean Sea. One can easily spend a lazy summer afternoon at the nearby Eibsee-Pavilion cafe, followed by a paddle boat rental and refreshing swim in the lake. Eibseee holds some of my fondest memories for a Bavarian summer. Eibsee is seemingly a well-kept secret. As an American, I did not detect any English speakers — mostly local Germans.

We have eaten there and can say that the quality of the very high price is wrong. The service is inappropriate for a 4-star hotel. Sometimes arrogant. At the table it is expected that missing cutlery to automatically are covered or The wine is given to. A dip in the Lake was not allowed as non — hotel guest us. But our money at dinner was taken gladly.
We will not come here ever again!

The trail around the Lake is very picturesque and convenient both for walking and for cycling. Simply stunning natural beauty is fantastically beautiful color Lake, crystal clear waters, virgin forest, the mountains around — it's hard to find a place more beautiful.

Tasty food with magnificent views.

Great bike ride with awesome scenery. The bike ride covered roughly 8k and included both several inclines and smooth downhill patches. Ride takes about 40 minutes.

Beautiful Lake with small beaches. Very clear and turquoise water (very cold). Perfect for a abfrischung! The variety of animals there attracts mainly divers. (there's also water snakes (harmless). )

You have to walk around this lake to get the best view. On the bridge near Untersee you will see the crystal clear water surrounded by pine trees with huge mountains behind. Amazing scenery! There is a waterfall on the west side of the lake. There is also a smaller lake called Frillensee. There are some ducks around the lake, it is forbidden to feed them.

Beautiful Lake on the Zugspitze at 1000m altitude. The circuit around the Lake is approximately 7 km long. Boats can be rented and there is a refreshment stop possible. Parking costs 3, €50

This hotel is in a great location and if you're visiting Zugspitze the cable car is a few hundred metres from the hotel. The service at the hotel is great, the location great and the layout of the hotel as well with the restaurant having a deck overlooking the lake. Parking was convenient next door to the hotel, Breakfast was good with a nice variety to choose from and a great view. The rooms were large and finished to a reasonable standard but were dated with older carpets and bathrooms that were in need of an update. The shower curtain was the first I had seen on our European holiday and fortunately the last! The view from the deck was fantastic with views of Zugspitze, the cable car and the Ferrari in the car park. We would stay here again due to it's location. Stayed September 2014,

Beautiful mountain lake. To create the circular hiking trail in brisk go under 2 hours, even if it makes some photos.
In the meantime, there are some very moderate climbs and plenty of seating and even trash cans. Everything is very well maintained.

For me one of the most beautiful lakes with great views of the Zugspitze. To the Umwandern very well suited, great scenery and crystal clear water.

The service was fantastic throughout the hotel but the main restaurant was very disappointing for dinner. The Taverna (downstairs restaurant) was excellent but it wasn't open for both nights of our stay. Overall the hotel seems a bit dated and is extremely overpriced.

We just came back from our vacation. 2 adults 2 children. Stayed at the junior suite and was absolutely perfect. Everything was clean, very spacious. The kids had there own room and me and my husband obviously had our own room. Extremely beautiful sauna and swimming pools. The views are breathtaking! Dinner and breakfast was wonderful. The waiters and waitresses were amazing and always friendly. My daughter made a friend with the waiter there. He was so friendly and helpful. Receptionists (both the males and females) were so helpful and so friendly. One lady helped us with our trip up the Zugspitze and our ski/snowboard rentals. Everything was wonderful. I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. We will definitely be back. Thank you everyone had Hotel Eibsee for a wonderful experience.

Crystal clear lake with a fantastic Zugspitz-view. Ideal for Stand-up paddling. If you escape from the crowds and wants to go to weekends to avoid or just early in the morning to be there.

The location on the Eibsee lake is a dream. Ideal for weddings and similar occasions. The Hotel itself is not more sure to the youngest and could use the one or the other to make sure a complete makeover.

The location by the lake is fantastic. The food is 3+. Needs to change the buffet concept. Not all guests know how to handle it properly.

The location and view are stunning; however the Saturday lunch buffet was really poor. Felt like a hospital canteen…

I and a friend were at the Salomon Zugspitz ultratrail, the Eibsee-Hotel, super Service! It was already 5:30 am Breakfast Bus to the Start and we had to vacate by 11:00. I'll definitely be back with the family! Rooms, food… everything was great!

Nice hotel in a good location.

This beautiful scenic lake lies at the base of Zugspitze (Germany´s highest mountain) and is a must if you are travelling through this region. The water is crystal clear and invites you to cool down on a hot day (at least your feet). There is a panoramic path around the lake, approx. 4 miles.

Was a nice trip from Munich to the lake interspersed with beautiful views and stand-to take pictures. Access to the lake and ride to the top of the mountain was taking breathtaking beauty of the landscape, and took coffee in the summit with mandarin cake. There at the summit more than a restaurant and the possibility of external and wide to take beautiful pictures, and there is a souvenir shop. Overall very very nice place There is a beautiful hotel on the lake and cafes.

I came on the 14 4 13 after a long day of skiing the zugspitze and hike subsequent to the Eibsee hotel restaurant. Because it apparently mid season (the related but separate restaurant on the Lake was still closed) and it was already after 19: 00, only a few other guests were there.
I ordered the menu with an appetizer, salad, main course and dessert — but no soup for just 30Euro. The appetizers were offered as small glasses to the self-service buffet. There were flavorful and visually very appealing combinations (example: salmon tartare in Mangosouce). I was able to take me several times. As a main course, there were four different alternatives. I chose fish with lenses (see picture) and was thrilled by the combination, look and taste.
As a crowning conclusion I was able to choose also offered desserts again me as buffet.
Overall a very good offer.
