We stayed in a deluxe room! It's huge and easy! The bathroom has a nice white bathtub! That's very nice! The atmosphere is amazing! Every participant felt comfortable! Not one wanted to leave after the photo session!
The location of the hotel is almost in the center of Baden-Baden, which is very convenient for guests arriving from other cities.
In Baden there is always a parking problem and since we are hotel guests, we have forgotten this problem.
The staff is always very polite and good-natured. They will always help, support, always with a smile!
Pleasant!
Another great thing is that you can speak different languages at the hotel: Russian, German, English, etc. That is, they are very customer-oriented.

My recommendation for a hotel in Baden-Baden I travel a lot and spend more than around nights in hotels year by year. But this my first review ever. If I´m in the south of Germany I try to stay in Baden-Baden in Hotel Merkur, because I love this city and this family-run hotel. I can not write a special reason, but for me this hotel has a very special atmosphere and I feel really at home. The staff is so friendly and always welcome me warmly. The rooms are comfortable and nice and the breakfast offers everything I need for a perfect start to the day. Freshly prepared coffee and egg specialties are more than you could expect in a hotel of this category. I write me first review, because one of the staff has told me, that the reviews for the hotel are not so good through the summer period because of the missing air conditioning. I can for sure speak only for myself. I`ve spend a lot of nights in hotel Merkur, since more than 10 years and the one or other night was also in the warm summertime. But in Germany the temperature cools always down in the night and with a open window and with a ventilator it was never a big problem for me. Especially because I don`t like air conditioning while I sleep. The location of the hotel is fantastic, you are in the middle of Baden-Baden and you can leave your window open, because the street and area are very quiet. I look forward to stay again at Hotel Merkur in future and I am always happy to be there, no matter in which season.

I have already written reviews for Tripadvisor and Expedia explaining my disappointment and frustration with the lack of air-conditioning in my room during my stay last week. Herr Hirsch quickly responded by pointing out that my stay included some exceptionally hot weather. True, Herr Hirsch, but you fail to note that there is no mention in your advertising that some rooms are without a/c. Surely, it can't be wrong to assume that a three-star superior hotel in this day and age would have a/c. Or if it didn't, that it would be honest enough to note that so as not to deceive guests, especially when your advertising makes such a point of touting the hotel as family-run and attentive to its guests. That sort of deception by omission really makes a mockery of claiming that it's a place where you feel at home or, to quote another of your slogans (right below), "a stay in our house. "

Please be careful of this hotel the owner has told me he has cameras all over his hotel and is secretly filming guests! He asked me personally if he could use the footage he filmed of me. The front desk clerk Sam was seen screaming at an elderly couple unlike anything I have ever seen before. We couldn’t sleep the night as there was NO AC and we were concerned of our privacy.

Great hotel with great location. And most importantly, the rooms are clean and large enough. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, every request is made. The breakfast is very varied and fresh, simply delicious. Happy again, thank you for the pleasant stay.

Very well maintained hotel, with a personal touch, in a prime location.
Note throughout that Hotel Merkur is a family-run private hotel. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and everything is strikingly clean and well maintained. We had a double room Superior with a comfy extra bed for our 15-year-old son. The room was very nice offered even enough space for 3 people. Even the cupboard was large enough, which is rarely the case with us in hotel. All in all, a great hotel, also suitable for families.

Probably typical for the area, but the rooms were rather small. The bathroom door won't even open 90 degrees before it hits the toilet, and there is no room to move around. No A/C in the room, either, which we knew ahead of time, but it's worth mentioning. Would also recommend against using their parking, as they have very limited space and pack many cars into it, so they have to keep your keys so they can constantly move cars around to get out. Very inconvenient and I didn't like the lack of freedom. There is a garage nearby that is reasonably priced and much easier to deal with.

Great place to stay in Baden-Baden We loved to stay in this wonderful hotel in the very beautiful Baden-Baden. We were really very surprised how nice the hotel and how awesome the city is. We want really recommend both and we will come back for sure.

From the friendly reservation by telephone, through the warm welcome and the friendly farewell, everything is right here. We have seldom experienced such a consistently attentive and friendly team as at the hotel Mekur and have therefore felt all around well.
The personal handwriting of the hotel is visible throughout. Everything is lovingly decorated and very clean.
The location of the hotel is perfect, the rooms are very nice and the Gastromomische offer is excellent.

Rooms are really appealing. Unfortunately, a little small. The bathroom is fine in size and also beautifully designed. Breakfast is very well equipped. But what is not possible is noisy discussions at the reception in the morning. Seemed to be a craftsman. Afterwards, he went to the kitchen and used his coffee freely and also stored his jacket. Simply really disturbing and unhygienic. Craftsmen did not belong in the kitchen during breakfast hours. The way I heard it, he was probably related to one of the kitchen ladies or married.
Everything else was ok but I don't think that's possible.

Great accomadations ranging from free drinks at Equipage in the Kurhaus, to amazing deals at local restaurants/activities, to something as simple as storing our bags after checking out. The room was cozy while still offering a lot of space for two people. Bathroom and shower proved to be very good. Staff at the desk were very helpful in telling us about local activities and helping with anything we needed. Have already recommended this hotel to people and will continue to do so, as my experience here was very pleasant.

The rooms were very modern and wonderfully quiet. We were always treated very courteously and it was also very pleasant to know the car parked well. The breakfast was very good and the food in the restaurant was excellent.

The perfect year change we have booked the New Year's Eve package and are totally delighted: already on arrival we were greeted by the owner very friendly and informed about the procedure and Baden-Baden. The whole stay was successful all around, with the New Year's Eve as a highlight. We had a very tasty 4-course meal in the beautifully decorated hotel restaurant, before we celebrated in the Equipage in the Kurhaus in class atmosphere and live music in the New Year. It has just voted everything and we have already decided to spend the next year again in Baden-Baden and of course at the Hotel Merkur.

We award the hotel a good 4 stars Although we travel a lot, this is the first time that we have rated a hotel on the Internet. All of the staff were so helpful and friendly that we are now happy to take a few minutes to do this. We were very positively surprised by Hotel MERKUR and find it difficult to understand that it is only rated as a 3-star superior hotel. Compared to the other hotels which we have visited, the hotel earned a good 4-star rating. The furnishing in the rooms is comfortable and upmarket. The modern design does not clash with the cosy feeling created by the harmonious colours. The lovingly designed decoration of the entire hotel shows straight away that it is a privately run establishment. The breakfast leaves nothing to be desired. The garage is inexpensive at €12 and the Sky TV free of charge. Nowadays we expect a free Internet connection that works perfectly, as well as water for which we do not have to pay, and this contributes to the impression that the hotel is very good value for money. We warmly recommend Hotel Merkur and will definitely be coming back again.

Our recommendation: Baden-Baden and Hotel Merkur Hotel Merkur is located very centrally – but nevertheless in a relatively quiet location – in downtown Baden-Baden. However, when a hotel is situated in a densely built-up city centre, the noise of one or two guests returning home late in the evening cannot always be avoided. We were able to reach all of the sights within 10 minutes on foot. If you park your car in the hotel's own garage, you have to hand in your car key at the hotel reception, as the cars are moved by the hotel staff to make the parking more efficient. We didn't have any problem with that and everything worked fine. On our departure our car was made available to us within 2-3 minutes. The rooms are modern, very attractive and the harmonious colours exude a pleasant atmosphere. The level of cleanliness also left nothing to be desired. The WLAN was fast and free of charge. In addition to more than 100 international TV channels, several SKY programmes were also available without payment. Another positive feature is the hotel's excellent restaurant and the very good breakfast buffet. The staff were very friendly at all times and are happy to take the time to explain the city map in detail and give tips on Baden-Baden. We enjoyed our stay in Baden-Baden very much, with Hotel Merkur also making a not insignificant contribution towards this. We will certainly be coming back to Baden-Baden and staying at Hotel Merkur again.

Nice, clean, small hotel… Very convenient, nearby the central of Baden-Baden, walking distance to the main street where shopping area are located. Walking distance to the Christmas market where people are going during advent season (December)

We enjoyed our stay at the Markur hotel, room was big and comfortable, breakfast was great. The shower was very small and acrobatics needed to get in, not the best choice for elder people. Also with the Internet it was a bad experience as every few minuets you had to enter the user and password. Twice I had to ask reception to reset the Internet. Not the kind of things I thought I had to handle in this explosive hotel.

It's nice good location, but old building, staff are nice, but I did not like it because no elevator in the one we was so we Cary our bags to up steer second floor and we bring them down in check out and the steer was narrow, and no enough light in the room 2 lamps are not working.

I booked a room here with booking the other day, received the confirmation, and when I arrived at night there was no room for me. No options were offered. Just — we do not have a room, we a fully booked.

I'm travelling a lot and it was my fourth stay at Hotel Merkur in the last 10 years, but it is my first hotel review ever. I decided to write it, because I'm very impressed about the friendliness of the hotel staff everytime I stayed there. It is a smaller hotel and there you can really feel at home. The hotel staff have always a smile at their face and this gives you a warm feeling. Everything in this hotel is good or very good. I can really recommend this hotel by heart and I hope a lot of guests will enjoy their stay at this nice hotel like I did every time. Update 2017: After last year we could not travel to Baden-Baden, it was a great pleasure to be able to visit our hometown again and to live in our favorite hotel. And what should we say, the staff is still just as friendly and helpful and the rooms have become even more beautiful. New, high-quality pillows and blankets, a great modern couch (like a daybed) and a large flatscreen TV with even more tv-channels make the rooms more comfortable and lovable. Also the restaurant has got a fresh look and is now even more modern, with the same very tasty food. We have always felt very, very well and comfortable and look forward to coming again next year.

I was at the hotel merkur for the first time and was extremely satisfied. You live the customer service. It starts at the reception with a friendly smile and smooth check-in. As rennsportbegeisterte Rennbahnbesucher we are two to three Times a year to race week in Baden-Baden. Since we have more than 10 years ago the Hotel Merkur for us have discovered, we live in Baden-Baden, only there and feel us very well, as in a second home. We greatly appreciate the family atmosphere and personal Service. Already at the arrival of us conjure up the lavish floral decorations and the friendly welcome of the staff, the first Smile in the face. The reception takes care of our car and our desired room in which it will lack nothing, we already find blind. The Frühstückspersonal knows our habits and spoiled us early in the Morning. Fast Internet and free Sky sports programmes, we also appreciate how the Restaurant Sterntaler in the home, where we like to spoil you leave. Alone the fact, that for years we are regular guests in the Hotel Merkur are speaks for itself. Of course, we can the Hotel highly recommend and look forward already to the next stay in August of this year.

For our visit to our old home, we have for the Hotel Merkur decided and were received at home, what our choice is absolutely confirmed. The Hotel is family-run, what is also very positive on. Everything is very well maintained and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. In our comfortable rooms, we have us felt very comfortable and had enough space for our excess baggage ;-) For Breakfast there was in addition to the abundant selection even baked Muffins and a very good Latte Macchiatto. We have ourselves all around felt very comfortable and finally our Stammhotel in Baden-Baden found. Many thanks to the whole Team from the Hotel Merkur for the nice days.

We were with a group of 8 people in 4 double room housed. The super Central location of the hotel was in addition to the reasonable price one of the auschlaggebenden reasons for the transaction. For a *** Hotel is the equipment of the rooms very good. The rooms are probably not too long ago renovated, with here, unfortunately, in the bathroom the old tiles and the shower were omitted. This fits unfortunately not so in otherwise good overall. Was a pity that our late arrival around 17:15 (! ) just the floors in the room mopped and the bathroom with new towels was fitted. The Breakfast is the category of reasonable and plentiful. The Parking lot is directly in the house is great. Overall, the price/performance is good.

The Hotel is very well located, in 5 minutes you are in the center of the city! The rooms are very spacious and offer plenty of space in the cupboards. The floor is made of laminate or similar Material. There is a free safe and free W-Lan access (at the reception you can print). The bathroom, or the shower is extremely small, large and beleibtere people will hardly be able to enjoy the shower. In General, the staff is very friendly and the Breakfast tasty! We will be happy to come back. The one star deduction is for the slightly musty smell in the corridors, more frequent Air would certainly help — even to Winter.

I have now already several times in the Hotel Merkur usual, and every time a perfect Service and so everyone desired "feel-good" experience. The food in the Restaurant is excellent and also the Breakfast offers everything you could so wishes. The Central location of the hotel allows for both shopping, Thermenbesuch or an evening walk to the nearby Spa resort. On each The case is an absolutely recommended house.

The Hotel MERKUR is located in the very Central and still quiet. The approach is not quite so easy, but who the Hotel once and found his car in the garage parked, the great location in a small side street is compensated. All the sights are within walking distance reachable in a few minutes. The reception was very friendly, as well as the whole staff is very courteous and helpful at any time was. We had a double Superior booked, which is very spacious, modern and comfortable. A comfortable couch, free Wi-Fi and free Sky TV invited to stay for a while. The bathroom was with a great Rain shower and plenty of storage space, which in Hotels is rather rare – as well as the strong hair dryer. The Service at Breakfast was also very friendly. The buffet selection was rich and made a fresh impression. Scrambled eggs were on request freshly prepared. All round it was a successful Start to the day in the beautiful Baden-Baden. A big praise is due also to the Restaurant. The kitchen is excellent at moderate prices. An absolute tip. We have us in the Hotel MERKUR from the beginning to the end of our stay, felt very comfortable and will be happy again. A recommendation we can with best Conscience fully in favour of it.

The hotel is very clean, rooms are big and modern. The hotel location is in the center of the city and with few minutes walking distance to the famous Caracalla Therme. Very friendly staff. The director has welcomed us himself and was every morning in the breakfast area to welcome the guests and wish to everybody a good day! We eat few times in the evening in the hotels restaurant. I would say they offer very nice food quality and various german specalites. We were very glad that we have choosen this hotel. I would give easily 4 stars for the Hotel Merkur. It is ok but a little overpriced for the service offered. It is like Ryanair, expect to pay extra for each little additional service (parking, scrambled egg for breakfast, "complimentary" water, kurtax). However, the people working there are very nice. Its probably just the owners fault why the hotel is just average. Here some further offs: floors look old, special request was confirmed but only done after asking again, TV is pointing to the wall not the bed, room was quite cold (but it also was very cold outside), tea and water and bath utilities only available after request.
