Just returned to the UK after another wonderful stay at the Staude. It’s an annual pilgrimage for us, visiting my German roots, and never disappoints. Rolf, Heidi, Sebastian and their loyal team always give us a warm welcome. The rooms are spotless and the food is delicious and plentiful. Situated right in the heart of the Schwarzwald, the walks are right on the doorstep. Always sorry to leave but looking forward to going back. Dog friendly too! Thank you for your amazing hospitality.

Hotel in the Middle of nowhere. This means Beatle no noice and this very relaxing. Also great food.

Wonderful food! The staff is very friendly and speak really good English. It’s a quiet little hideaway. Near walking trails.

It has a perfect setting with lots of little hiking trails around. Room was cosy and warm, breakfast buffet excellent. Owner and staff are really friendly and welcoming. I can only recommend the place. And have dinner there, cause the food is awesome!

What a fantastic place! In the middle of the black jungle in a wonderful place. The landscaping, service, taken care of by its owners with a warmth difficult to find, and a well German place. The restaurant a separate mention with very good dishes and gluten-free options. Breakfast to stay two hours trying everything and a combo of things that make it a must-see place.

The food was really very good in taste. There is nothing to complain about at the service either. Not everything went so perfectly: Our side salad was served at the neighbouring table, we then had to remind us that our orders lack the salad; But this is due to the great rush. I pull off the two stars because they were so very few side dishes (both my fries and my husband's spätzle and also the side salads). If pork fillet costs almost €23, you shouldn't save on the side dishes.

Very delicious food and very friendly staff. The asparagus cream soup was solitary lace. The Maibock could have been a little less through for me. The hunter cutlet from my partner was also delicious. Both were beautifully arranged and we could reorder spätzle for free until we both almost burst.
By German standards it is rather expensive, but nevertheless I find the value for money absolutely ok.
If we are back in the area, we will definitely come back.

Excellent restaurant in the middle of the idyllic Black Forest. Great location, close to the B33 (Sommerau). Very good food, regional and freshly prepared. The game dishes are especially recommended. Cosy and quaint black forest ambiance. Very friendly and attentive owner and service. The surrounding area invites you to take a walk after a great meal.

After a long time, once again with friends visited the perennial. Nothing has changed, although an all-round blow in the interior would be good for the local. Reliable kitchen, man can do nothing wrong. Appetizers; Soups and salads, then trout fillets, roast and onions, all top. Weinreclamation has been professionally treated. Our service, which has been around for a few years, has fun at your job, you can clearly notice. Nice, polite and makes a gag too, great. Unfortunately, this kind of service is not often met. Old School. We'll be back, alone because of the service.

Rustic ambience, very friendly service and excellent, freshly prepared food without long waiting times. Reservation is an advantage.

In a wonderful place. Kind people and good enough food.

Stayed there as well as are my meal. The building was classic black forest style. Beds very comfortable, clean bathroom and cozy environment. The meal was very good and they have an English menu but there are no prices on it. I would love to stay there again.

Great location… owner is very fiendly and kind… highly recommended if you are driving to Triberg!

Clean, comfortable rooms, beautiful, quiet location, very friendly service, great new sauna area with some work out machines, great food! Very homey, but all not so antiseptic and modern that it's lost any charm. Germans would call it "urig". I think it's just right.
