Great, very friendly and family-run, small hotel in a castle in the middle of the black forest. We visited the Schloss hotel Hornberg at the end of August with children and a small dog and we felt very comfortable. The staff from the reception to the Restaurant very warm and friendly. The Restaurant had very kitchen good, some excellent and a very nice selection of regional, German and international wines. The beer garden with a view of the valley and the black forest alone is worth a visit. Next to it is the old castle tower with a beautiful presentation of the history of the Hornberger shooting and a large children's Playground in the castle theme. Overall, a great Hotel, definitely deserves more than the "officially" categorized three-star. For us, due to the cordiality of the staff, price/performance and quality of the cuisine is five star.

The setting is stunning and the views too, the walk to or from the village very nice. But period. The hotel is dated, sloppy and expensive for the facilities you have. Very old everything and ugly. He takes advantage of his situation.

We and our children liked the venerable hotel complex very much. Also the location above Hornberg is very nice. The food was good and rich. The breakfast buffet also offered plenty of choice. Our room was very large and pretty.
The only downside was the staff. This has ignored us several times and has not supported us in our wishes. It is a pity that this has unfortunately tarnished our otherwise very good impression.

We were there to visit the restaurant and the food was really super delicious. The small beer garden behind the hotel invited you to linger in fine weather and the view then compensated for the somewhat steep ascent on foot. (The hotel is also accessible by car by road. )

Delicious cake and coffee along with some splendid views, most welcome after the walk up the (many) steps to the castle.

Relatively simple rooms, but functional. Otherwise beautiful location, great castle ruins right on the closed. Beer garden with a great view. The dinner was great and the price/performance was great.

Nice hotel with great views. The rooms correspond to the 3 stars the hotel owns. Bar is a bit small, especially when bus travelers are around. However, the bartender is super nice and always laid on for a swick.
The food was great one day and very mixed on the other, but a little too expensive for the quality offered. I would award 3, 5 stars, but the staff was super nice I was 4.

A refreshing Wochenendtripp. The hotel and the sights around it are incredibly beautiful and speak for themselves. We were here in connection with the Knight's Supper and it was gigantic. The entertainment is provided and the staff (as far as I can judge after a day) were extremely friendly and accommodating as it is actually used only from higher rege hotels. The bartender even brought us the drinks to the fountain in front of the hotel. Why is this not a 4 or even 5 star hotel? When we go back to the beautiful Black Forest we come again! Greetings from a happy family.

World's best food, of high quality! Here you can feel that it is cooked with love. Everything is nicely done for the eye on the plates. The hotel itself has a beautiful location. The rooms are very well maintained and clean, cozy ambiance! Very friendly and helpful staff.

I just want to say that the staff are highly lubricated and very polite and nice.
The hotel is super no Merkel. I would stay there.
The restaurant is top class my compliments to the chefs who are able to serve almost around the clock food, which makes the water in the mouth run.
The festivities that can be booked here are called Medieval knights, which are extremely beautiful and exciting.
You can also celebrate his wedding or other major events here is enough space and defenetiv not a wrong decision.

Very cosy Hotel with commendable Restaurant. The bar is small but fine and the Thai bartender is extremely friendly and in absolutely competent.

The whole experience from the moment we walked in the door to the moment Karsten dropped off at the station was outstanding. The atmosphere over Christmas was beyond our wildest expectations and the nightly entertainment was fantastic. The food was particularly good with plenty of it. Breakfast was great. The staff including the owners were really great I appreciated the care they took to manager my nut allergy. I can not recommended this place highly enough.

Wonderful location in Black Forest, beautiful views and complete with medieval castle keep. A quaint friendly family owned 3 star hotel. Clean, cosy & comfortable rooms with ensuite bathrooms with all the expected ammenities. Great Christmas entertainment, we missed the option of a good cooked hot breakfast, food was variable from excellent to not great at all. The hotel has no lift, and wi fi in reception lounge area only. The guest lounge and bar is in the reception area, and for a 5 day Christmas stay we missed a comfortable good guest area and fire. So a few pointers keeping this potential gem at the 3 star level.

Beautiful views of Hornberg and very good eating. However, some rooms are renovated and a friendly way would be good some leaders to get in as a guest and not a burden.

Here only the knight's rated! Ambience and Show, among which was a juggler and a small fackelshow, really great! Each one star deduction for the funny quote of the beer flat rate for 20€ — which motorists would have to take and what's only 3 hours would have been considered. Another star for the main course, here I must but the meat of Praise! Flavour and also from the garpunkt perfect as almost everything else. However, It is (n) of meat alone is not enough, and the half Hand, noodles and some vegetables were quite a few side dishes — here would have more to do.

We have our wedding here and celebrated the Festival was simply amazing. It was for everything. Great organization and very delicious food! Many thanks to the whole Team at the Hotel Schloss Hornberg.

We have a very nice romantic weekend with the bike in the black forest and in the Hotel Schloss Hornberg is spent. The premises were very clean. The lady at the reception was very nice. The food in the Restaurant was excellent, the atmosphere with lively Piano music very beautiful. The surroundings and the view are fantastic. In spite of a wedding we did at night, hardly anything of the other guests heard. We would always stay there again.

The note on the service 0 is assigned to the boss! No smile!
Hotel veilllot, access difficult because, attention if you take a small bread without anything charged then that is was to unite people with diabetes.

We have the Smartbox "Highlights" cashed. The food was amazing! :) The rooms are ok, just noisy, and the doors are partially smaller than the frame, i. E. You can see on the page a bit by. But not too bad. Beautiful view from the Restaurant, nice atmosphere, very friendly staff. You can from the castle also hikes, or with the Schwarzwaldbahn free (included in room rate) rumdüsen.

We were for the second time on Castle Hornberg and have again enjoyed the very personal and friendly service. The operators couple participates in this hotel in all areas of activity, what you also can feel. The food was once again a poem. The first night we had a 4-course menu and a second evening a 5-course candlelight menu. The main dish was sensational: Poularde stuffed with Apple and prosciutto on grapes tagliatelle. For dessert, there was a variation that was so surprising things like asparagus sorbet — very tasty! We find the hotel ideal for relaxation, hiking and enjoy. Although relatively simple, but very clean rooms and the rest is wonderful. Of course, who wants to make a spa vacation is out of place. At the first visit, we got to the tip to Baden-Baden in the Friedrich thermal spa travel. The ride is free with the guest card and equips a bathroom with towels. Good bad weather option.

Gorgeous castle on hill in forested mountain area of Southern Germany. We arrived a few days before tourist season but the owners had a room ready and were so gracious. They worried we might be offended to eat in kitchen with staff and family. Staff, especially Zorro, went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Saturday morning was a yearly party for locals before tourists arrived. We had a ball and the 11th century canons did not blow up as burgermeister noted in his speech. Later that day we visited Seebach with which I share the name. Barony gone but town still there.

About the hotel, its establishment, location and service I am like others already made available, whose positive evaluation seems ok to me. But what corresponds to the announcements on the Internet nor appropriate promotional brochures, is a Knight meal in this hotel, which is performed on the first Saturday in the month. Completely overpriced food (50, 50 €) with 5-course (& 1 hot honey wine) is of good quality, but at all is not enough to become saturated. In addition, it has little to do so with a Knight meal like a car with a golden Hamster. The duration of ca-3, 5 hours for this low-fat meal is shortened by a so-called jester between courses, which is unfortunately very often takes in the sound and several times below the belt redistributed low blows, such as with stupid sayings against pregnant participants or stupid jokes against women. This is a lower level, but no recommendation.
